Confused as normal I'm trying to find relocation in my franchise I'm trying to find a place where I can create uniforms?

I don't know what the current situation at SDS is as regards the Covid-19, but its going to be interesting to see to what extent it affects the updates to the game this year and whether it impacts the number of patches, fewer but bigger maybe? Or just less overall.

Does anyone notice that in certain stadiums like Citifield Houston and Washington when the pitches are thrown from the batting view they kind of like skip in? I try to ignore it but I can't. Think they had this problem last year and they smooth is out with a patch.

When you're picking your team while creating your franchise you can press R1 to replace it with a created team. You'll find all of your uniform customization there.

Here's my impression of 20'.. The game-play has been smooth through this point thus far. I am doing a carryover from 19'. The double plays are turned very well, I thought it was last year too. At the plate hitting is about the same low scoring games through 5 games played. My game's so far are 3-2,2-1,3-2,2-0 & 1-0. Me vs. the CPU are averaging about 9 hits combine a game. I am 2-3 in my continuation of my Braves franchise in late June. I having trouble hitting some pitcher's change-up's they're really disappearing to the bottom of the zone this year.

The new "Showtime" score bug is a welcome addition, but with that said the only bad I am experiencing the OSD= on screen displays are wrong... Maybe because I am doing a carryover. I am trying my best to ignore, but it is a glaring issue for me.

Can I formally request that the "Low" Fielding camera angle be included in the standard modes? It's freakin' awesome!

It doesn't matter if it's a carryover or not, the ODS bug is still there. Annoying af

Is it just me, or do ground-rule doubles happen a little too often? I think I've seen at least one in every game I've played so far.

I’ve only seen one through 30 games

In the first 5 games I played in Play Now to get a feel for the game, I saw 3.

Like CB, I've only seen 1 so far and that was on a ball that bounced over the side wall down the first-base line, so no long fly ground-rule doubles. Typically, that's not the case for me.

Re: MLB The Show 20 Impressions Thread

I'm having fun despite DD play being wildly inconsistent. There are plenty of issues with this game in the pitching, hitting, and fielding departments in DD gameplay, but overall I'm still enjoying it enough to play nearly every day.

I'm not the greatest player and have the skillset to lose enough on my own, but the RNG pitching mechanic makes sure I lose plenty of games and never have a chance in them. I think the pitching is legitimately bugged out at this point because there will be games like the 2 I quit last night where I can get perfect release on 18 of my first 20 pitches thrown and the two pitches I didn't get perfect release on are the most accurate throws I make while with those 18 perfect releases I'll see 6 go down the middle and I'll be down 8-0 before I even come to bat myself.

I get that pitchers shouldn't be hitting their mark exactly with a perfect release, but it is rather frustrating that my Smoltz and Saberhagen both give up 6 and 5 runs each in 1.1 IP like last night because every perfect released ball I threw was wildly off target and half of them went down the middle for no doubt HRs. At that point it's not even about user skill and it's just an RNG mechanic shifting the user.

I'm perfectly fine losing on my own and can own those losses just fine. I've played plenty of games where I just lost in the end because of my own fault or games where the other guy is clearly better than me. Those losses I can live with everyday. But losing a game because I'm forced to quit in the 2nd inning because it's literally giving the other guy BP and gifting him 6 runs on his first 10 ABs is just incredibly irritating. It's also just unpredictable when it'll happen and no pitcher is safe. I almost threw a no hitter with my Kluber two nights ago and the only 3 hits the guy got all game were on pitches I aimed out of the zone on, got perfect release on, and saw the ball go down the middle, and of course the other guy gets perfect perfect singles for two bases hits and drives in 1 run. That run scores and then my Kluber goes back to not missing his mark the next 4 innings.

If they fixed the RNG mess that pitching is then online gameplay would be a blast even with the hitting and fielding being the way they are.

I've never been this addicted to a game. I find myself in between pitches saying "wow this game is so pleasing to look at".

Those pre-pitch cameras are incredible. I can't imagine the game without them now.

Re: MLB The Show 20 Impressions Thread

So, I am a guy that plays two modes for MLB, Franchise and DD (offline). So my impressions will be central to those modes only. I'm also a gameplay-first guy, so that too will be a focus.

                                We'll start with the modes:

                                Diamond Dynasty (Offline only)

                                The Good
                                - Player programs have been a nice addition to the mode, finally offering a reason to play some 9 inning games vs the CPU.
                                - I like the restructuring of the Team Affinities to have different Stages that will unlock throughout the year.
                                - Evolution programs are interesting...I'll be curious to see how they all unlock and if better cards will be made available for them at each Stage.

                                The Meh
                                - Showdown is an interesting addition. Fun, but you cannot tell me that they haven't manipulated sliders for some of these challenges. It's better than traditional moments, but it's frustrating. Charging fees, however nominal, was a tad odd, but not something I have strong feelings about.

                                The Bad
                                - Minimal offline stat grinds. Oddly, lots of stat grinds added for online gamers (who didn't want them) and none for offline (who DID want them). I get the exploitability concern for online guys...but they are already exploiting the game "as is" as they use their cutesy little visual aids (I mean...seriously...you need the freakin ball marker to aim a pitch?!!!), strike zone cams, etc. Easy solution here: make grinds offline ONLY and require All Star and above difficulty for them.
                                - Many of the offline "content" dont even use your team/collection.
                                - The insistence of tying MtO to DD is an insult to DD players. I don't want to play a bad franchise mode to earn DD team affinity, I want to play DD. I can of course, with little to do other than eke out innings played (boring)
                                - Conquest is STILL only against Live Series teams.

                                Franchise

                                The Good
                                - It's still the most stable and immersive franchise mode out there if you have a good roster to begin with (Bacon's fictional, the 1987 90-man, and Ridin's are all solid options)
                                - Thanks to MLB's new roster rules, fantasy drafts are now viable as CPU teams will now field an appropriate number of hitters on the active roster.

                                The Meh
                                - Rebranding was a half-baked addition. I started one and very quickly lost interest....just isn't immersive enough.
                                - Lots of little Quality of Life changes were needed, very few added

                                The Bad
                                - I'm lumping this here...but man, that initial SDS roster was awful. I am perfectly fine with fake players (my carryover from 19 is an SDS roster with fake guys), but it was a very poorly balanced roster with way too many teams suffering positional shortages...causing way too many trades.

                                Now into the game:

                                Graphics/Presentation

                                The Good
                                - Beautiful game with some tremendous camera angles between pitches.
                                - Lots of flexibility with visual options
                                - Very good all-around TV-style presentation, as always

                                The Meh
                                - The new theme is very mediocre (ignoring the stat bugs that will likely be fixed). The location at the bottom of the screen is awful and it looks very generic with too many random pop-up information pieces.
                                - Requiring L2 to show lineups/defensive alignments in broadcast presentation was a fail. However, I like the concept of having it for quick/hybrid packages and for HR replays.
                                - Commentary...meh...it's a sports game commentary.

                                The Bad
                                - That little pop-up circle thing that appears after every bloody pitch has got to go! That thing is an utter abomination!

                                Pitching vs Hitting

I'm going to break this down more simply. There is a hair too much ball drift for pitches. It's definitely ratings-based, but it's a tad much. However, you can really set up batters for Ks - you just have to be careful. Exit velos are much better this year but you definitely need some separation of the pitch speed sliders to avoid creaming the ball. Overall, I feel that this is fairly well-balanced for modern day baseball.

                                Fielding

It is SO good. Hat's off to SDS...every year I think they can't make it better...then they do. There are little bugs and stuff...those all get ironed-out. However, I do think user control of fielders is too good as users can often get to balls the CPU can't which is unrealistic (especially the meter throwing) - they need to make that a lot more difficult.

                                Baserunning
Easily the biggest improvement from last year. CPU runners WILL take extra bases, sometimes in surprising situations. If I had to guess, it's added an extra 0.5 runs per game of offense for the CPU, which is a godsend.

Overall score - I don't believe in those....but the guys that always complain are complaining and the guys that don't aren't....so MLB is still the same stellar title it always is.
Play the games you love, not the games you want to love.
