[quote=KnightTemplar;2050061573]You can't compare by taking a picture of the screen with a camera because peoples tv colors etc are different. You have to take an internal screenshot with the same weather and time of day etc.. to compare, and in theory they should all look the same.YouTube: MLB The Show 21 Atlanta Braves FranchiseComment

Re: MLB The Show 20 Impressions Thread
I mis-judged a ball in the outfield with Jo Adell and as I went back I jumped to catch it, but it hit Adell in the face and now he's injured with a black eye...

I’m really liking the classic pitching this year. Just lost a game 8-3 because I walked 5 batters in the first 3 2/3 innings. Enjoy this game and my favorite pitching viewComment

Re: MLB The Show 20 Impressions Thread
When the game gets intense and stresses you out (check the linescore) and you have to save it until tomorrow because you don’t want to muck it up. That’s how good this game is this year. I’ll finish it in the a.m.Comment

Re: MLB The Show 20 Impressions Thread
This year is not that much different. Take a pic and send it to us. The grass in this game is improved, but certain times of day still look really bad, and overall it still does not have that realistic saturation nor the proper color on many fields.
I'm sorry but this looks nothing like Target Field lol. Like what the hell are they running on in those outfield shots. It looks almost white in places and completely off green color almost greyish. Every now and then with the sun it might look decent, but overall no.
Even in the pic you put out, which shows almost nothing, it is clear that the grass is this dull, weird green color like it has always been in certain lighting conditions.
While baby steps are made on grass in The Show, it still looks bad at certain times, and really awful too much of the time. I guess if you take it out of content it's not abysmal, but when you actually go see a field in real life, and then come back to play Show it's a joke. Target, Yankee, Cubs, et cetera. All these stadiums have lovely deep and green grass. Just doesn't quite come off like that in the game, and it does truly hurt the look of it more than a lot of things.
Hoping for big upgrades on PS5. But the fact remains that you need to actually visit the stadiums to understand what their grass looks like. ****ty broadcast cameras almost never give you an actual feel for how the true colors are. I have no idea why so many cameras in the biz look off, but they sure as hell are way off. I go to Target Field or whatever, and it looks almost nothing like the real life grass on TV. It's dull and faded even on TV probably because broadcast is still using old cameras with old technology.
I do see some broadcasts that seem upgraded and more true to life these days, but definitely not all of them.Last edited by Paragone; 03-30-2020, 10:21 PM.Comment

I’m also using Remote Play to try to perfectly align the Broadcast camera.

Soft tossers
Pitchers delivery....
The Show needs more animations for Starting Pitchers who bring it!
Been like this for years, animations are so off..you see this soft toss and then you find he’s supposedly firing it in at 96, 99 ect...searched most all of em and hard to find animations matching a hard thrower.Comment

Re: MLB The Show 20 Impressions Thread
As an old fart /franchise only player I have to recommend going for the new 20 version. And I went into the month content with 19 and prepared to stay with it.
I end up buying every year and this time I thought I might get 20 but keep playing 19. Nope. TBH after the 1.05 patch I haven't really noticed any glaring bugs per se in 12 games. I am a former season player so I don't really get caught up in the general manager side of things, just playing ball.
But the thing that really impressed me was the graphics. Funny story: I decided to do a comparison by playing a few innings of play now on 19 at the same park, same time of day and conditions. I was watching things like the amount of orange on buildings during sunset, etc. Well I ended up pitching a perfect game for 8 innings so I stayed with it until it got broken up in the 9th.
After that longer than intended sample I put 20 in and it seemed like I had just put on my glasses. Everything was just noticably clearer and crisper. A quantum leap. (I have to admit I'm a graphics hound).Comment
