Can you guys teach me how to make a proper realistic 30 team controlled franchise? I’m a little confused

Long relievers keep getting more innings than middle relievers and is making it too easy for me to hit when teams constantly bring the same old crappy long reliever in tie games. I heard you can fix it by not having a long reliever in the bullpen.

How do I manage to control every team, keep a long reliever out of their bullpen and have traded and all without issue?

        Update on My Braves Franchise:

I am kinda of scuffling offensively coming out of the gate Post All-Star break. I have a record of 4-6. Although my record is 59-43 tied for 1st place with the Mets. CF Inciarte is out with a broken ankle(1-2 mnths) more than likely to be 60-70 days. There is 9 days before the trading dead-line. RF Heyward returned back to the line-up the last game vs. the Nats after having the same injury as Inciarte.

On the trading block is Rays LF Tommy Pham ovr 84,4.1M last yr of his deal. Batting avg.266,10HR,51RBI in 338 AB. Right now I am running out the Matt Joyce and Duvall in LF. Actually Duvall defensive attributes is better than Pham. Except for reaction Pham (78) Duvall(75). Offensive attributes Pham is better than Duvall power & contact. Their durability(83) is the same. I will straight start Duvall as my LF for seven games and make my decision. I have a 2 game home series vs the Royals. Then a 6 game road series vs the Phillies and Nats to end the month of July.

          Pitching Falters in Twins’ Loss
Allow six hits, but issue ten walks

          April 22, 2020
Minneapolis--- For the first part of the season, the Minnesota Twins pitching staff has surprised many in being the best in baseball. Wednesday night, however, that did not hold true as the Seattle Mariners took advantage of poor Twins’ pitching in a 9-4 victory at Target Field.

Twins starter Jhoulys Chacin (2-2) was anything but stellar, giving up four runs in his four innings of work. He issued five walks and allowed three hits, but did strikeout seven. Devin Smeltzer came in and finished three innings of long-relief, allowing just one run.

Tyler Duffey’s struggles continued. After a scoreless eighth inning, he came back out for the ninth and was unable to record an out. He gave up four runs, and now has an ERA of 15.26 on the season. He was optioned to Triple-A Rochester after the game. (No corresponding move was made at the time press).

“Tyler had a breakout year last year, and he is someone that we are going to rely on heavily this year,” commented pitching coach Wes Johnson. “He is just struggling finding his release point right now. We are hoping a week or two down in Rochester will help correct the issue and he will be back up helping us win games in no time.”

Offensively, the Twins’ had twelve hits, but Mariners starter Marco Gonzales (3-2) limited the damage. Max Kepler and Miguel Sano each had three hits. Kepler has now overtaken Jorge Polanco as the team leader with a .311 batting average. The slumping Polanco has seen his batting average drop 34 points this week, down to .307.

The Twins will look to take the four-game set tomorrow afternoon. Jose Berrios (0-2, 3.23) is still looking for his first victory of the season, and the Mariners will put their trust in righty Taijuan Walker (1-4, 6.33). First pitch is scheduled for 12:10 PM.

Cardinals looking for trade partner for Steven Matz

The Cardinals have notified the other 29 clubs that they intend to trade 33 year old Steven Matz. The Cardinals signed the left hander in the offseason to provide depth to their rotation or to possibly be an arm out of the bullpen. But when Spring ended, Matz found himself at Memphis, the Cardinals Triple A affiliate.

Matz has performed ok at Memphis posting a 6-3 record with an ERA of 3.98. The Cardinals expected to rely on him at some point at the big league level, but with Junior Fernandez pitching extremely well, and the bullpen doing just enough, the Cardinals really haven't felt like there was a reason to recall the 33 year old.

So the Cardinals are looking for a trade partner to move Matz and give him a shot at pitching in the majors this season. One potential suitor is Matz's old club the Mets. The Mets are in contention for a playoff spot and are looking to improve a rotation that has been hit hard by injuries. The Cardinals do have an interest in a few prospects the Mets have, but we'll see if a deal can be reached.

Other suitors include the Yankees, Tigers, White Sox, Cubs, Brewers, and Rockies.
I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

The Dodgers (50-18) sweep the Reds (36-33) in a rain soaked series in Cincinnati.

9 June 20- Jimmy Nelson replaced Clayton Kershaw after a 45 minute rain delay stopped the game 2 outs into the 3rd. The Dodgers went on to win 9-2, padding the score with 5 runs in the 9th.

10 June 20- Walker Buehler, Joe Kelly and Kenley Jansen combined to hold the Reds to only 2 hits in a rainy 4-0 win.

11 June 20- Finally, with a little bit of sunshine, the Dodgers and Reds combine for 8 solo home runs, 7 in the first 4 innings, in the 5-3 Dodgers sweep-clinching win.

Dodgers will head to Atlanta for 3 games against the NL East leading Braves (40-29). Projected pitching matchups are:
                David Price (8-4, 2.94) v Sean Newcomb (2-2, 5.23)
                Alex Wood (7-4, 2.91) v Mile Soroka (5-7, 4.08)
                Clayton Kershaw (9-2, 1.92) v Mike Foltynewicz (6-3, 3.47)

                  MLB 20 - 30-Team Franchise

                  March 26, 2020

Opening Day is finally here and we have a full slate of 15 games to kick off the season.

First some roster news from around the league as teams have finalized their opening day rosters:

JAYS DEAL SHOEMAKER AND ACQUIRE BARRETO IN SEPARATE DEALS
Toronto sends Matt Shoemaker back to the Angels in exchange for RHP’s Noe Ramirez and Mike Mayers. Toronto clears about $3 million in the deal and the Halos pick up another under-the-radar pitcher for their staff.

The Jays also brought in Franklin Barreto from Oakland in exchange for minor league RHP Eric Pardinho. Interesting move here. Toronto needed a utility infielder and they found a young one with some potential to be part of the long-term rebuild. Oakland gets back a lottery ticket in Pardinho with potential for high payoff. Still just 19, he was the top international pitching prospect in 2017 but will miss all of 2020 after undergoing Tommy John Surgery. Jorge Mateo will make his MLB debut for Oakland in place of Barreto, who was out of options.

YANKS DEAL CESSA AND HALE TO SEATTLE FOR 1B/3B PATRICK WISDOM
Nothing to see here, roster cleanup for both teams. Mariners are so thin that Hale will be in the starting rotation.

                  DARKHORSE METS SIGN PUIG
Yasiel Puig signs with NYM, 2 years $16 million. Mets want to compete this year and have no discernible return date for Yoenis Cespedes. Michael Conforto moves over to center and Puig will be the every day right fielder. Mets have a good team, and they hope the addition of Rick Porcello and Michael Wacha can help withstand the loss of Noah Syndergaard to TJ surgery.

Puig had been linked to the Mariners but was unwilling to take a one year deal. The 2-year deal offered by the Mets offers at least a certain amount of security and makes Puig a free agent again after his age 30 season.

With that, I’m excited to finally be playing some games.

                    Astros 3, Angels 2
Halo newcomers Anthony Rendon (2-4, 2 2B) and Julio Teheran (7 IP, 1 ER, 6 K’s) were excellent, but their performances were wasted as the pen coughed up the lead in the 8th.

                    Rangers 1, Mariners 0
A solo homer from Elvis Andrus was all the Rangers needed. Corey Kluber pitched 8 scoreless with 10 K’s in his Rangers debut, and Jose Leclerc pitched a perfect 9th for the save. Seattle mustered just 3 hits.

                    Diamondbacks 3, Braves 2
Braves scored 1 off Archie Bradley in the 9th but it wasn’t enough. Bumgarner went the first 8 for the W and struck out 8 along the way.

                    Marlins 6, Phillies 4
Corey Dickerson and Garrett Cooper combined for 6 hits and 5 RBI’s to power the fish, who scored 3 in the 8th to steal the win.

                    Nationals 6, Mets 5
Wild affair, as Scherzer and deGrom allowed 14 hits combined. Doolittle blows the save in the 9th but the Nats would win it in the 10th. Both teams combined for 27 hits.

                    Brewers 8, Cubs 1
Omar Narvaez hit 2 homers and Kyle Hendricks was chased in the 5th as the Brew Crew crush the Cubs. Brett Anderson drew the opening day start for Milwaukee and took a shutout into the 9th.

                    Reds 6, Cardinals 0
Joey Votto and Jesse Winker each tallied 3 RBI’s and Sonny Gray went 8 scoreless with 7 K’s. Shogo Akiyama added 3 hits in his US debut.

                    Padres 3, Rockies 2
Manny Machado hit a walkoff triple off Jeff Hoffman to cap an exciting opening day in San Diego.

                    Dodgers 8, Giants 3
Jeff Samardzija allowed just 1 run in 6.2 IP, while also going 3-3 with a run scored off Clayton Kershaw. Dany Jimenez and Shaun Anderson would allow 7 runs in the 8th to waste his Ruthian performance.

                        End of MiLB Season- 2021

The regular season is over for the guys down in the minors. Our Double-A team The North West Arkansas Naturals were dominant all season winning the first and second half while advancing to the playoffs for the 2nd straight year. The Omaha Storm Chasers up in Triple-A weren't as lucky going 67-73 and missing the playoffs.

                        Top Prospects
                        Spoiler

Bobby Witt just couldn't get it together in time for his numbers to look good. He ended July hitting just .188 before heating up in August and September. Clearly not the season we were looking for from our #1 prospect.

Erick Pena, on the other hand, had a very good season. 99.9% of his stats are from AA with 7 at-bats in Triple A. 12 homers and 36 doubles, to go along with 15 outfield assists and 3 errors in 1143 innings center field. Wouldnt be surprised if he ended takes over as the #1 prospect next season.

Charles Flores dominated Double-A in his first season of pro ball. He put up a 1.95 ERA and a 0.95 WHIP in 50.2 innings. He then got a promotion to Triple-A and put up a 2.72 ERA and 1.02 WHIP in 43 IP. A little disappointed in the strikeout numbers as he came into the season with that being his best attribute.

Sherman Sumner also in his first year of pro ball had no issue no matter what level he was at. Starting the season in Double-A he put up a 2.60 ERA and a 1.12 WHIP in 138.2 IP. Promoted to Triple-A on August 5th he made 6 starts putting up a 1.98 ERA and 0.88 WHIP in 41 innings.

Brady McConnel put up a season a lot like we were expecting out of Witt. He started in Double-A hitting .313 in 128 at-bats before heading to Triple-A where he hit .293 in 198 at bats.

Some guys with good seasons not in the top 15 - Blake Perkins, Abraham Dominguez, Nick Pratto, Michael Fernandez, Joan Adon, Gerson Garabito.

Perkins hit .279/.366/.406 with 6 HR and 18 SB in 323 AB in Double-A

Abraham Dominguez hit .265/.363/.406 with 10 HR in 283 AB down in Double-A Got promoted to Triple-A in late July and hit .233/.333/.361 with 4 HR in 133 AB.

Nick Pratto spent most of the season in Double-A hitting .275/.365/.458 with 9 HR in 262 at-bats. Got promoted to Triple-A and fell off a bit hitting .233 with 4 HR in 146 at-bats. He wasn't getting many hits but was still able to get on base putting up a .356 OBP. A torn calf ended his season early.

Michael Fernandez threw 118 innings with a 2.59 ERA and 1.18 WHIP.

Joan Adon was very similar putting up a 2.69 ERA and a 1.21 WHIP in 113.2 IP.

And finally, Gerson Garabito put up a 2.85 ERA and 1.39 WHIP with 130 strikeouts in 148.1 IP.

                          Rough Fifth Dooms Twins
                          Berrios knocked around in loss

                          April 23, 2020
Minneapolis--- Jose Berrios was grooving through four shutout innings, but things changed in the fifth as he would be lifted before completing the inning, and the Seattle Mariners defeated the Minnesota Twins 7-5 on Thursday afternoon. The Mariners and Twins split the four-game set at Target Field.

Things were looking good for Minnesota, as the offense exploded for five runs in the first inning off M’s starter Taijuan Walker. An RBI double by Luis Arraez, an RBI single by Eddie Rosario, and then a three-run homer off the bat of catcher Alex Avila put the Twins up 5-0 after one inning.

Walker came out for the second, but a single and a double to start the inning ended his night. Enter George Kirby. A top pitching prospect in the Mariners system, Kirby (1-0) earned his first major league win, tossing four scoreless innings and allowing the comeback to happen.

“Kirby is tough. He has a lively fastball and very sharp breaking curveball,” commented Max Kepler in the post game conference.

Berrios (0-3) had four shutout innings going before the M’s got to him in the fifth. Up until the fifth, he had only allowed two baserunners. The four hits and two walks led to six runs (one earned) and Berrios was knocked out after four and two-thirds innings. A Josh Donaldson throwing error and a three-run homerun by Kyle Seager were the two daggers in the inning.

The Twins will look to rebound tomorrow night as they welcome the Boston Red Sox into town for a three-game weekend series. Kenta Maeda (3-2, 3.18) will look to get back on track after losing his last two starts. The Red Sox will send Mike Shawaryn (2-2, 2.65) to the bump. First pitch is scheduled for 7:10 PM.

                            JUNE 2, 2020 | CHICAGO, IL

A pair of two-run doubles by Steven Souza Jr. helped the Cubs earn a 8-4 victory over the visiting Baltimore Orioles Tuesday night at Wrigley Field. Souza finished the game 3-for-3 with 4 RBIs as the Cubs hold on to a slim lead in the NL Central division over the Milwaukee Brewers.

Jon Lester was solid through the first four innings but allowed a run in the fifth and two in the sixth as the Orioles were able to tie the game at three. Lester earned a no decision, allowing 9 hits while striking out just 4. Casey Sadler tossed a scoreless seventh inning and notched the win improving to 2-0 on the year.

The Cubs jumped out to an early lead in the first inning as they batted around, taking a 3-0 lead. Tied 3-3 in the bottom of the seventh, Steven Souza Jr. smacked his second two-run double of the game with the bases loaded to put the Cubs back on top. The Cubs plated five runs in the seventh to take a commanding 8-3 lead.

The Cubs wrap up the quick two-game set with the Orioles tomorrow as Kyle Hendricks (7-2, 4.03) takes the hill. Alex Cobb (1-8, 4.88) will start for the Orioles.

Cardinals take 2 of 3 from Brewers. Head to All-Star Break with 8 game lead

The Cardinals took 2 out of 3 from the Brewers in Milwaukee and will head to the All-Star break with an 8 game lead over the Brew Crew.

The Cardinals dropped the series opener when Greg Holland blew his first save as a Cardinal allowing the Brewers to tie the game in the 9th. The Brewers would go on to win in the 11th when Trent Grisham singled home Byron Buxton.

Game 2 saw Junior Fernandez once again pitched a phenomenal game going 7 strong innings and holding the Brewers to 1 run on two hits. He struck out 7 in the process, but was bitten by poor fielding behind him which drove up his pitch count.

Game 3 had Kyle Funkhouser on the mound as he took the ball despite the fact that he will be in Atlanta for the 2025 All-Star Game. Fellow All-Star Brendan McKay did sit out Sunday. Funkhouser went just 6 innings due to giving up a season high 6 walks, while striking out 7. Unexpected hero Chris Taylor was the offensive boost the Cardinals needed as he was 3 for 3 from the plate with a walk, a homerun, a double and he drove in all 5 of the Cardinals runs.

The Cardinals will now be off until Friday due to the All-Star break where they will return to the Busch Stadium to host the Mets.
