Re: MLB The Show 20 Franchise Discussion Thread

Braves loses the last 3 game pivotal series versus the Nats 2-1.

We won Game 1 4-3. Braves SP Fried picked up his 19th victory of season. I felt pretty good about the series. But Game 2 & 3, we got shut out 6-0. Both SP Corbin and SP Hellickson of the Nats threw complete games...

Our record is now 82-69. We are limping to the finish line and not feeling like I would win a playoff game. If it was tomorrow. We are only 1.0GB of the 2nd WC seed to the Reds. The Reds are playing the NL Central leading Cubs. The Nats are playing the Cards, who are also in the hunt for October trailing Cincy by 1.5GB of the top 2 wild card slots.

They are 11 games remaining in the season. 6 games at home, 3 vs. the Phillies and 3 vs. the Giants.

Same, I don't really want to start over but if we're heading to DH territory it may be worth the restart. I may just sim the first year to get back to where I am.

        Cardinals DFA Carlos Martinez

The Cardinals have designated RHP Carlos Martinez for assignment. The 34 year old was sent to Memphis after Spring Training due to be on the IL and the Cardinals having their pitching staff set for Opening Day. When Jonny Venters was placed on the IL, the Cardinals recalled Martinez from Memphis where he made 3 starts going 1-1 with an ERA of 3.96. He's pitched 3 games for the Cardinals out of the bullpen and has lost 2 of them, including walking the only 3 batters he faced last night in San Diego, including walking in the winning run.

The Cardinals bullpen struggles that has plagued this organization for the past few years continues in the 2026, with guys like Jordan Hicks, Tyler Jay, and until lately Roberto Osuna have been extremely inconsistent. Add Martinez to the mix, although it appears the leash on Martinez is fairly short as the club entertained the idea of not re-signing Martinez this past winter.

The Cardinals will have 10 days to either trade, outright to minors, or release the 34 year old. It's expected the Cardinals will look to see if they can find a trade partner in these 10 days and if not, grant Martinez is outright release.
I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

          Jay’s Cubs Wrap Up: 2022

Cubs head to Los Angeles with the NL West On the Line

After series against the Reds, Pirates and Brewers where the cubs went 7-4; The Cubs are down to the final series of the year as they take on the Dodgers in a 4 game series. The Dodgers sit atop the NL West but only hold a 2 game lead over the D-back and Padres are 2.5 games back. Both the D-Backs and Padres have secured the NL Wildcard but the final 4 games will determine who will get to rest and who will have to face off in the do or die game. The Cubs sit at 109-49 and have the best record in baseball locked up. Skipper David Ross was mum on if he would rest his starters in the final 4 games of the year “We will take it day by day, on one hand you want guys fresh and want to get the young guys some PT to end their year but you also don’t want to go in to October on a slide.”

In Game 1, the Cubs ran their starting line out and faced off against Dustin May as Oscar Colas took the mound. The Cubs struck first getting one in during the 1st inning. Oscar Colas capped off his second year on the mound in strong fashion as he went the distance throwing a 4 hit shutout while striking out 9. Kris Bryant led the way as he went 3 for 4 as he missed out on hitting for the cycle.

In Game 2 featured 2 lefties as Brailyn Marquez faced Julio Urias Marquez has rebounded from his struggled since his call up in August. The lefty has gone 4-3 in his short time in the majors and looks to be good position to be in the rotation opening day in 2023. Marquez pitched well giving up only 1 run in 6 innings as the cubs were able to break the 1-1 tie in the 8th on Baez’s 2nd RBI of the game. Kimbrel again struggled as he blew his 8 save on the year giving up a solo shot for Cody Bellinger; on the day Bellinger hit his 48th and 49th home run. With the game tied the Cubs were able to add 2 runs in the top of the 11th to make it 4-2 but the Dodgers did not relent as they were able to win in walk off fashion as Carl Edwards blew the second save of the day giving up a 3 runs all with 2 outs.

In Game 3, Justin Verlander faced off against Walker Buelher. The Dodgers were able to keep pace in the West but the Diamond backs are still out on their tail - the Padres were eliminated from contention for the division crown and will face the loser of the 2 team race. With Arizona winning earlier in the day, Los Angeles finds their lead in the west down to .5 games. The Dodgers Anthony Rizzo got the day started off right as he blasted a solo shot to left field to get the early lead. Verlander capped his regular season as he went 6 innings while striking out 7. Rizzo belted his 2nd home run of the game. The Cubs came away with the 6-3 win. Javy Baez continued his late assault on the batting title as he went 2-4 to raise his line to .313 on the year. Brian Anderson of the Marlins is at 314 and leading the NL.

For Game No. 162 The Dodgers and Diamondbacks found themselves tied at the top of the standings. Clayton Kershaw took the mound as their final chance to win the division outright. AJ Puk was on the mound for the Cubs. The Dodgers did not get the start they needed from Kershaw as he gave up a solo shot from Kris Bryant to start the game and had to leave after the 2nd inning with back stiffness - the Dodgers lucked out though as it appears he won’t miss any time. The Cubs were able to bust open the 1 run game in the 5th as they added 5 runs including Nico Hoerners double that cleared the bases for 3 runs. Puk capped off his bounce back season, while he only struck out 2, gave up 2 walks and 7 hits he was able to keep the Dodgers from coming over the plate; he just missed his 4th shut out of the year as he gave up one run with 2 outs in the 9th to end his complete game bid. Yovanny Cruz was able to get the final out to seal the win. Javier Baez was able to win the batting title as he raised his line to .315 on a 2-3 day before getting subbed out in the 6th; Brian Anderson helped the cubs shortstop cause by going 0 for 4 for the Marlins.

Even with the Dodgers loss, the Diamondbacks were not able to seize the division as they were shut out against the Rockies. The West would be decided in the 163rd game of the year as the two would face off. The Dbacks got the better of the Dodgers 4-1 as Madison Bumgarner pitched 7 and two third innings and also padded the lead as he brought in the 4th run on a suicde squeeze in the 7th.

The Braves were able to hold off the Marlins and won the East by 2 games. The Red Sox Twins and Astro were the kings of the AL as all won over 100 games. The Indians and Rays were able to secure the wildcard as the Yankees failed to make the playoffs after getting swept by the Twins in the final series of the season. This is the 2nd year in a row that New York has missed the playoffs.

Re: MLB The Show 20 Franchise Discussion Thread

The All Star Break has come and gone with the AL defeating the NL 3-0 in the All Star Game as we get set to head into the second half of the 2020 season.

Over the ASB there were two trades. First, the Red Sox struck a deal with the Marlins to acquire SP Caleb Smith for prospect 3B Triston Casas.
Then, recently after the Jays Paddack stunner, the evil empire strikes back.
We agreed to a huge deal with the Reds.

Yankees Acquire SP Trevor Bauer, CF Jameson Hannah, and RP Javy Guerra
Going To The Reds: Deivi Garcia, Estevan Florial, and JA Happ

We’ve been watching Bauer for a while and with the Reds 20 games out of the Central and 16.5 games out of the WC, they were finally ready to agree to a deal. Bauer, who’s pitched to a 3.84 ERA and a 1.22 WHIP over 117.1 IP was the clear top SP option on the market this year. Worth noting that Bauer’s stats are a little inflated as he had 2 back to back rough outings going into the break. Bauer will slot in behind Cole as our #2. His contract is up after this year, but we have no plans of letting him go anywhere after this season.

Hannah is basically a filler guy to take Florials place in the minors. Guerra was just claimed off waivers from the Padres by the Reds days ago. We put in a claim ourselves but Cincy got priority. Guerra is only 24 years old, and throws absolute heat. Almost Chapman level heat. But, he has a lot of work to do on everything else as a pitcher. What makes him more interesting is he can hit a bit, well for a pitcher. And plays solid defense. A potential 2 way player option. We requested they include him and they agreed.

Garcia and Florial is a steep price. But the OF picture is pretty full now with Stanton, Judge, Hicks, and Gardner in the majors. Then Tauchman, Frazier, Palka, Zach Granite, and top prospect Jasson Dominguez in the minors. Plus recent waiver claims Blake Rutherford and Leody Tavares joining that minors group.

As for SP. We have Cole long term, now Bauer who we plan to resign, plan to resign one of Tanaka and Paxton, Sevy returning from TJ next year, and guys like Montgomery, German, Schmidt, and Loaisiga in the mix. Think we could afford to cough up Garcia. Happ was just included to make the salaries work.

Next up: We open the second half with 3 games in St Louis taking on the 54-43 Cardinals. We’ll feature a reset rotation of Cole, Bauer, Tanaka, Paxton, and Montgomery.
            News:
            Yankees Roster Movement
Clarke Schmidt Optioned To AAA creating room for Bauer. Schmidt had some solid outings mixed with some ugly ones pitching to a 5.02 ERA. Decided he could use more seasoning in the minors, but he’ll be back.

              The Amazins

Mets Finish Opening Stretch Against NL East, Sit at 11-6
              April 11, 2024

The Mets finished off a 17-game stretch against the NL East (specifically the Phillies and Nationals) to open their season with an 8-5 win over the Nationals at Citi field. They sit at 11-6 and in first place in the NL East.

              NL East Standings:
              New York Mets - 11-6
              Miami Marlins - 10-6
              Philadelphia Phillies - 8-7
              Washington Nationals - 7-10
              Atlanta Braves - 4-11

Offensively, the Mets are being paced by reigning NL MVP Rafael Devers. Through 17 games, he is slashing .403/.456/.823 with 6 HR, 8 2B, and 22 RBI. He has been a nightmare for opposing pitchers in the middle of the Mets lineup, including a 2-4 day with 2 2Bs and 2 RBI in the Mets last game.

Conversely, Michael Conforto has struggled out of the gates. He is hitting .262/.318/.443 with only 2 HR and a measly 4 RBI. That last number is a bit concerning, especially out of your #3 hitter and your highest paid player. Unfortunately, this is beginning to become a trend as Conforto has seen a drop in production over the last couple of seasons. Don't get me wrong, in 2022 (the worst campaign of his career since his second year in the bigs), Conforto slashed .288/.388/.576 with 25 HR and 74 RBI in an injury-shortened season, good for 5.0 WAR. He's still a top 10 player in the game, but he is beginning to look human.

Fortunately, Devers emergence has made his drop in production less of a fear-factor for the Mets.

From the rubber, the Mets have a team ERA of 2.98 - good for second in MLB behind the Texas Rangers (2.94). Last year's CY Young winner and newly-acquired, Amir Garrett, has gotten off to a 4-0 start but his ERA is 4.13 and his FIP is a troubling 5.08 - which is directly related to the six home runs he's surrendered in his first 4 starts in a Mets uniform. On the other hand, 2021 CY Young winner Noah Syndergaard continues to be the Ace of the rotation. In two starts he's 1-0 with a 1.29 ERA, 1.00 WHIP, and 2.43 FIP with 15 K in 14 IP.

Thor is currently on the IL with a strained back and he's expected to make his return Atlanta next week.

Rookie Sean Machado made his first start of the year, in Syndergaard's place, in game 2 of the Mets' most recent series against the Nationals. The flame-throwing lefty went 6 innings, surrendering only one run, striking out six, with two walks in a 0-5 Mets loss.

The Mets get a day off before they host the Seattle Mariners, for two games, in an early-season, interleague matchup. Seattle is 7-9, and Sean Manaea will be pitching against Walker Buehler in the opener.

                Jay’s Cubs Wrap Up: 2022

The Dodgers head to Chicago for NLDS

In the AL Wildcard, The Rays were able to get past the Indians by the score of 3-1 as Nimmo and Lowe both went yard.

The Dodgers are reeling after losing 3 of 4 to the Cubs and losing the division to the Dbacks. They were up against a tall task as they faced the Padres to see who would advance for a 5 game series against Chicago as they faced Dinelson Lamet. The Dodgers were able to sneak by 3 to 2 on the back of Cody Bellinger’s 2 RBI home run

In Game one Kyle Hendricks took the mound for the Cubs; Clayten Kershaw was looking for redemption as he could go 2 innings in his last start against the Cubs. Los Angeles got on the board on the 3rd pitch of the game as Andrew Toles took a ball over the right field ivy to get the early lead. The Cubs were able to answer back in the bottom of the 1st after Justin Turner doubled to left and Willson Contreras took a fastball to the left field bleachers. The two teams traded runs in the 3rd to make it 3-2 Cubbies but that is when it went off the rails for Hendricks. The Dodgers dink and dunked their way to 4 coming across the plate. Hendricks only went 4 innings and gave up 7 hits for 6 earned runs. The Dodgers were able to add another 2 runs in the 6th on Kyle Ryans and Emmanual Clase; The Cubs would add a run in the 8th but could not get closer as Los Angelese stole game one 8 to 4. Kershaw was back to form as he pitched 4 scoreless innings while racking up 10 K’s. Talking to reporters after the game Kris Byrant spoke on the cubs having more discipline at the plate, “Flat out we didn’t perform well, not to take anything away from Kershaw, he pitched a hell of a game but we fell into what they wanted us to do by swinging at pitches in the dirt and waiting for a pitch we could drive.” The Cubs had opportunities, two times they loaded the bases and got no runs to show for it against Kershaw.

The other game of the day had the Braves facing off against Dbacks, Puig had a impressive showing as he went 3 for 6 including a homerun.

Cubs Look to Tie Series in Game 2

Oscar Colas took the mound in Game 2 against Julio Urias; Colas is facing the Los Angeles lineup that he faced just a little over a week ago when he went for a complete game. After a scoreless first, the Dodgers got on the board with a double by Corey Seager that scored a run. The Cubs were able to answer back as Ben Revere was able to score a run as Kris Bryant drove him in. In the 4th The Cubs bat’s came to life as they plated 5 runs including home runs by Kris Bryant and Willson Contreras. Colas was dominant as he allowed 1 run on 5 hits with 9 strikeouts; But was taken out due to a high pitch count. The Dodgers were able to add one against the bullpen but the Cubs relievers were able to settle down to pitch a scoreless 8th and 9th to seal the 7-2 win.

Elsewhere in the playoffs, it took 9 innings for the first run of the game to be scored in Game 2 between the Diamondbacks and Braves. The D-backs tied the series with a walk off single by pinch hitter Dom Mirogilo in the bottom of the 9th. The Red Soxs took game one against the Twins 3-2 behind Chris Sale 8 inning start. The Rays defeated the Astros 4 to 3 as Lowe and Naylor both had home runs.

As the Cubs had a day off the Red Soxs and Twins were all offense in Game 2; Minnesota plated 7 in the first inning but not to be out down Boston served up 9 runs. The starting pitchers in the game only accounted for 8 runs

Cubs / Dodgers heads to LA for Game 3

Yu Davish looked to give the Cubs the edge as he faced off against Dustin May. The game was scoreless heading into the 4th when Anthony Rizzo was due up to bat. Rizzo had struggled in the series as he had yet to record a hit - that changed as he took a solo shot to right field to untie the game. Rizzo was able to add to the Cubs lead as he hit his second home run of the game, this time a 2 run shot to make it 3 two. Darvish was impressive as he went 6 innings and struck out 5 while allowing 4 hits; he gave up 2 in the six and that was the end of his day. The cubs were able to add a run in the 7th and Miller and Kimbrell shut the door on the dodgers. Rizzo’s contribution was not just as the plate as his glove helped Kimbrel get out of trouble in the 9th. With one on and one out Marcus Semien was up and hit a shot that could have potentially moved the runner to 3rd; but Rizzo showed his glove as he laid out for the 2nd out. Kimbrel was able to put Cody Bellinger away to seal the game 3 win.

The Cubs will be without Ben Revere as he suffered a hip contusion on a play where he stole second. The outfield will be out for at least a week and it is not clear where he will be ready for the next round, if the Cubs advance. Richard Kell was added to the playoff roster but the cubs will miss the speed on the bath paths while Revere is out.

Else where in the playoffs the Braves took a 2-1 lead in a 8-6 win. Max Fried gave up 5 runs but struck out 8 while Freeman and Albies homered. The Stros won 2-1 behind the arm of Zach Grienke that went 6.1 innings while striking out 8. Houston leads the five game series 2-1

Last year the Cubs went 24-7, and ended up missing the playoffs. So the fans are a bit hesitant to believe in this team yet.

Sano had 11hr’s in April, and Soto added 9HR of his own.
They have led the Cubs offense so far, and the pitching staff has held there own so far. It will be interesting to find out how the Cubs move forward from here.

The Cubs are 17-13 and find themselves 1.5GB of the Brewers, who could very well be the best team in the MLB.

May was a month that kept the Cubs afloat, but the Brewers have surged ahead and continued to dominate the MLB. The Cubs are 32-27 at the end of May, and finished 15-14 overall. The Brewers are 41-18 and already have a 9 game lead on the 2nd place Cubs.

It is a tough situation early for the division to already have that type of separation, and it may take a momentous effort to overcome the Brewers.

Overall, the Cubs continue to play very balanced. Nobody is sticking out and putting the team on their back. There is not a single starting position player hitting even .270, but there is also not a single one hitting under .245. So it has been very balanced to this point.

Serrano and Urias have struggled in the rotation, both hovering around a
5ERA through 13 starts, while DeGrom also has over a 4ERA in his first season with the Cubs. While Brailyn Marquez and Berrios both have sub 3ERA’s and are carrying the rotation.

Cubs are 32-27 and 9GB of the Brewers.
June saw the Cubs go 13-14 for the month. Not a successful one, especially after the Cubs started the month losing 6 in a row. So they were able to rally the rest of the month after that. Soto and Sano are both on pace for 40hr/100RBI seasons. The lineup is struggling outside of those two though. Javier Baez only has 10HR at the end of June and is only hitting .261. He could really use a good 2nd half to boost the team.

Berrios and Marquez are the only two SP in the rotation that have under a 4ERA. Urias (4.60) and DeGrom (4.52) have struggled to be consistent and Jose Serrano (5.24) has games where he has blown up. The bullpen has been great though, and has kept the Cubs in games. Not a single pitcher in the pen has over a 4ERA.

The Cubs are 45-41 after June, and are 15.5GB of the division, but only 2GB of both WC teams which are the Phillies and Giants. July will be an interesting one, who will be named All-Stars for the Cubs, and will they make a move to push forward?

July was an above .500 month for the Cubs as they went 13-11. They had two All-Stars in LF Juan Soto and CP Clyde Booker, who both represented the Cubs last year as well. The month started off shaky as the Cubs lost 4 of 5, but the Cubs rattled off 5 wins in a row, and kept pushing along once the all star break finished.

The Cubs were surging. They wanted to be buyers and they showed that a couple days after the season resumed after the All-Star break. Crosstown trades do not happen often, and they are usually not cheap because of it.

The Cubs were still looking for more offense with a high average as the team ranks 22nd in runs and 28th in OBP on the season. The Cubs traded for SS Tim Anderson from the Sox. Anderson (32/86OVR) will move over to 2B for the Cubs. This will push longtime 2B Alan Quick to a utility role.
Long known as two of the most electric players in the MLB are now on the same team and are a double play tandem. Anderson will take over the leadoff spot from Browning who is heating up, but only hitting …at this time.

The Cubs had to deal 2 prospects and an MLB player to acquire Anderson. CF
Brennen Davis who has been a top young player for awhile will finally get starting time in the move across town. SP Scott Juarez (72OVR/B) was drafted a couple years ago and was a top pitcher in the Cubs farm. They also traded a future bullpen arm in Tommie Kendrick (76/B).

The cost was high for a player set to reach free agency at the end of the year. But with the Cubs missing the playoffs the last two years, they did not want to miss out again.

Berrios and Marquez continue to be the bright spots in the rotation, while the Bullpen maintains its excellence. Henry Browning has started to pick it up on the season, along with Sano, Baez, Anderson and Soto the Cubs lineup does look lethal.

The Cubs will need to keep that up in order to make the playoffs.

The rest of the month of July was solid, and kept the Cubs afloat in the WC race.

The Cubs are 58-52 at the end of July and currently have the 2nd WC spot. 0.5 up on the Braves.

Cardinals grant Carlos Martinez outright release

The Cardinals have granted Carlos Martinez his outright release therefore allowing him to sign with any team he chooses.

The Cardinals designated the 34 year old for assignment 3 days ago, but after looking at the trade market, decided they would just grant him his outright release instead of trying to make a trade work or sending him to the minors.

There are interested teams in Martinez (Yankees, Rangers, and Mets), but the Cardinals couldn't work out any deals with either of these clubs, as the return wasn't anything of interest to the Cardinals.

Best of luck to Carlos and whatever the future holds for him.

I rule with an iron fist, although maybe I should change since I still haven't won the World Series!

I re-signed him in the offseason to provide depth since we were turning to Dakota Hudson and Josh Rogers in our rotation. I thought he could be a good arm for the bullpen that could spot start, like we've done with Michael Wacha, but he just didn't pan out.

I hate letting him go because he has been solid for us throughout the years, but sometimes moves just have to be made for the better of the team and the player I guess, since he wasn't going to stay on our major league squad.

We also have good depth in our farm system of arms to turn to like Daniel Ponce de Leon, Brady Singer, Austin Warner, Tyler Beede, Braxton Garrett and Casey Meisner.

                          The Amazins

Mets Sweep Mariners in Two Game Set
                          April 13, 2024

The Mets took care of the visiting Mariners in both games this week thanks to some dominant pitching and timely hitting.

Game 1 was the Walker Buehler show. He struck out 4 over 8 innings, giving up 5 hits and no runs in a 3-0 Mets win. He seems to have taken another step in his third year in the Mets rotation. He's 2-1 with a 2.00 ERA and a WHIP below 1. If he continues this development, the Mets will have three high-end starters at the top of their rotation.

Game 2 went far differently. Dave Monahan had to be removed in the first inning because of a blister, having surrendered 3 ER before his exit. The Mariners would push their lead to 5-0 before the Mets got one back in the 4th. In the bottom of the 5th, 1B Steven Logan pulled the Mets to within 5-3 with a 2R HR to right-center. Then came the heroics of Eloy Jimenez. In the bottom of the 7th he tied the game with a 2R HR down the left-field line, before winning the game with an RBI double down the right-field line in the bottom of the 9th.

The Mets bullpen also deserves some credit for that Game 2 victory, throwing 8.2 IP of 2-run baseball, including holding the Mariners hitless after the 4th inning.

After another day off, the Mets head to Miami to take on the 12-8 Marlins for the first time this season.

Tigers swept by Houston. Cameron sent down. Rogers being called up

The Tigers took a major whooping from Houston as the rotation continues to struggle. Jordan Zimmerman gave up 8 runs, which lead to a 11-3 Astros victory. Game 2 was more of the same as the Astros won 11-5, with Spencer Turnbull giving up 7 earned, but oddly enough, he struck out 11. Matthew Boyd didn't fare much better as he gave up 9 runs on route to a 14-3, beating. The Tigers go into the All-Star Break 37-60.

On a positive note, Cameron Maybin is having a career year with as he hit his 21 Home Run. C.J. Cron also notched his 20th. Jacoby Jones also hit his 13th Home Run, and Austin Romine hit his career high 12th home run.

And with Jeimer Candelario returning, Daz Cameron's cup of coffee in the majors has reached it's last drop as he's being sent back down to Triple A after hitting .175 in 6 games. Also, with Grayson Griener struggling, Jake Roger's has been recalled from Triple A Toledo, where he hit .244, but had 7 HRs and 21 RBIs. Both he and Austin Romine will be handling catching duties.

The Tigers will enjoy the All-Star Break at home, and will use this time to recuperate from a very difficult 1st half of the 2020 Season.

We took 2 out of 3 from the Phillies @ Truist...

Game 1: We got a dominating pitching performance from young Soroka. He went 7.0IP,5H,2R,2ER,2BB, & 4K. 2B Albies went 3 for 4, including his 2nd inside the park home run of the year. Acuna finally hit his 1st HR of the month giving him 29 dinger's on the year. Vizzy & Kimbrel closed out the game with 2 scoreless innings. We won 5-2.

Game 2: Newcomb was at his best. Hurling 8.1IP,4H,1R,1ER,1BB & 6K. He was over 100 pitches into the top of the 9th before giving up a run to the Phillies. I was impressed. We lead the whole game. Phillies finally broke through in the top of 9th for 3 runs, but not enough. We won 4-3...

Game 3: Offensively we couldn't get it going vs. Arrieta. Phillies went up 2-0 through 7 innings. Phillies Arrieta pitched a gem: 8.0IP,7H,0R,1BB & 6K. SP Fried wasn't too shabby either. He went 7.0IP,6H,2ER,1BB & 3K. Our bullpen got blasted. Vizzy, Kimbrel and Claudio yielded 6ER in the last 2 frames. We got shutout 8-0...

We stand at 84-70 on the year. 0.5 game up on the hott Cards & the Reds for the 2nd WC seed. But we are 0.5GB of hosting the Wild Card game trailing the Nationals. We have 8 games remaining, 3 vs. SF, 2 @K.C. & 3 @ NYM. The Cards have the toughest schedule remaining, 6 vs. the NL Central Champs the Cubs & 3 vs. the D-backs. Reds have the Mets(3), 3 vs. the Brewer's & 3 away games vs. the Pirates. The Nats have tough one as well. They have to maintain the lead by playing 10 games straight. There toughest series will be the last 3 @ home vs. the AL Central Champs the Indians.
