Re: MLB The Show 21: Five Things We Want From Franchise Mode

      1. MUCH better ai logic (lineups, rotations, injuries etc..)
      2. Bigger rosters (more player slots total)
      3. rotating schedules (year after year)
      4. more equipment brands (ex. Nike catchers gear)
      5. year to year saves (with the ability to add or remove players from rosters so you're not stuck with the same people for ever. In a year or so when a new player comes on the scene it'd be nice to have them in the franchise as well.)

Re: MLB The Show 21: Five Things We Want From Franchise Mode

          My power rank:

          1) EXPANDED ROSTERS

Not to sound like a broken record, but in my personal opinion, until this is done, Franchise mode will continue to be extremely limited in the roster logic, trade logic, financial logic, etc...that it so desperately needs, along with the idea of deeper draft with international signing period and non-roster spring training invites.

          2) MAKE MANAGERS/COACHES MATTER

Managers and coaches are just name alone in this game, and really have no impact whatsoever on the gameplay. They are "attribute influencers", but imo its extremely insignificant, if significant at all. We need coaches with personalities who have their own approach on managing the game from being aggressive on the basepaths, to playing small ball, shifting on defense, managing pitching staff/bullpen, etc....

And please please please...I beg you...please stop making fake managers/coaches wear jackets all year long. Please

          3) OVERHAUL TRAINING

This will go along or work with making coaches/managers matter. Training is too basic. I want to work with a prospect who is a dead pull hitter, learn to hit the ball the other way, or at least up the middle. I want to teach a kid a new position aside from just going in an editing his secondary position to where I want them to play. I want to help a starter develop a solid 4th or 5th pitch, etc...

          4) MORE CONTRACT OPTIONS

This will require a change to how financials work, but we need more contract options. Currently you can front load, balance, or back load a contract which is nice, but what about signing a player to say a 7 year contract with opt outs in years 3 and 5 or things along those lines.

I'll throw minor league contracts with non-roster invites to Spring Training to this list, but we need roster expansion first, imo.

          5) INJURY HISTORY

This is vital in my opinion to help add depth to franchise. If a pitcher has had arm troubles and a free agent the offseason after injury, the chances of him getting a big pay day or long term deal are less likely due to not being sure how durable he will be. Same with players with knee, ankle injuries, etc...

          BONUS

I know its cheating, but I wanted to list the 5 things that have yet to be in the game to be there, but year to year saves need to return. Please SDS bring back Y2Y saves!
I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

Re: MLB The Show 21: Five Things We Want From Franchise Mode

                  Top 5 Franchise Wants

                  1. Year to Year Saves Returning for 2022 - The greatest franchise feature ever made needs to return. Yes....there are those of us who are incredibly dedicated to playing every game, and having this feature made it an annual joy to look forward to the newest version of the Show and know we can continue our franchise and go deep without ever worrying about starting new every season.

                  2. Expanded Rosters - Critical to making the league far more robust, balanced and competitive. It has been a big want from the franchise community for a decade and a half. Full Single A ball plus an additional 12-14 spots for international, non roster invitees etc.

                  3. Huge AI overhaul on and off the diamond - This is a biggie. We need far better managerial and GM decisions from our AI counterparts inside franchise mode. It is not horrible, but lineup logic, pitching logic, team building logic all can use a big refresh.

                  4. Historical stats for minor league players - Team building is a huge part of franchise and this is something that is long overdue. We need to be able to see how our farm system is developing season to season across all levels (A,AA,AAA).

                  5. Scouting, off-season and the Draft - This also needs an overhaul. Way too many players 24 or older drafted.....really? We need a high school showcase we can attend each off-season...tie in Perfect Game somehow or the Showcase that is already in RTTS. The Winter Meetings are a huge part of baseball and an exciting time of the year. We need a Hot Stove Hub. Something that immerses us in the process of wheeling and dealing players during the off-season. Scouting needs to allow for more scouts. International and amateur draft....and with expanded rosters we should be able to go at least 20-30 rounds deep in our drafts.

Bonus - Please......get the rotating interleague schedules to work. This has to be able to be done in this day and age on a console baseball game.

Re: MLB The Show 21: Five Things We Want From Franchise Mode

                    1. Better progression/regression
                    2. 120ish man rosters
                    3. Better draft class generation and the ability to edit during the scouting part of the season before the draft.
                    4. Better scouting associated with the above.
                    5. Ability to import and export players in franchise without having to have roster control on. Let us do it in any franchise.

Also the obvious carry-over franchise option is a must.

I actually think you need better presentation  in franchise, maybe another announcing crew to go with who you already have, like NBA2K. Since you have create stadiums, maybe every time you win a pennant or world series you have the option of throwing a flag up in the stadium representing the year you won. Stuff like that would help franchise even more so.

and now for something completely slightly different

                        * left-handed catchers. we got left-handed shortstops, past time catchers get that same opportunity lol
                        * cpu balks. and catchers interference while they're at it
                        * normal bunts. this ain't rocket surgery, just cut off the rocket
                        * player attribute progression/regression where attributes stay the same the whole season with whatever rating a player has day one spring training. and doesn't update till day one the next spring training. so you're taking an unknown chance on signing free agents or re-signing your last years players. free agents are like a box of chocolates: you don't know what ya got till they open their first paycheck
                        * three-way players: I'm not sure but I think it's pronounced ''manage a trois'' - every day players who can also pitch... AND manage. yeah, player coaches

Better historical stat tracking. Show us top 25 in career stats, not just leader for most homeruns. Show us a list that goes
                              1. Bonds 762 HR
                              2. Aaron 755 HR
Etc. to the top 25. Also add dynamic rule changes like nba2k has, a example of this would be ability to expand playoff teams or shorten the season.
