It used to be possible to trade free agent eligible players for competitive balance picks, back when they had type A and type B free agents, but that whole system is scrapped. Now competitive balance picks are only rewarded for free agents who decline qualifying offers and sign elsewhere, and the picks cannot be traded.

You are a bit confused. Competitive balance picks are awarded by a formula based on revenue and market size. They can be traded IRL. The last two years Milwaukee traded one of their competitive balance picks.

The show doesn't have competitive balance picks probably because they only have a limited June draft and the code to write for revenue and market size isn't worth the time they would have to spend writing it.

I don't know why they feel the need to animate her, they don't have animations of Vasgersian or any of his other sidekicks down through the years. plus, it's a terrible likeness of her anyways. just leave her voice in, and bring back the ability to turn off whichever talking head you want. for me, that's an easy choice in Mushmouth Plesac. I wish Hal Reynolds would have stayed on more than a year. I suppose I should be glad it's Plesac in the game, it could be worse: it could be Tim McCarver, John Sterling or Hawk Harrelson in the Show instead

Expanded rosters in spring training, give me some spots so I can invite anybody in the organization.. Or, if possible, make it so that the game ignores 40 man/minor league roster status in spring and instead allows you to set a daily roster. So if I wanna have a game where it's entirely backups and minor leaguers, I can. After all, these are the only real guys fighting for spots and it'll allow me to take a look at my young guys that aren't ready yet.

With Stadium Creator coming I wonder if there could be ANY way to modify existing stadiums in franchise where new pennant/world champion banners get added to the stadium as franchise rolls along. Would be amazing to win a title and see it memorialized in the stadium for the rest of your franchise. Ditto if there's a way to retire more numbers and add them to the stadium.

Yeah thats fair. Honestly when you play as much as we do, the play by play gets really stale, even if it was great play by play its gonna get stale. I would like the ability to just have Matty V talking and that's it.

If Hawk Harrelson was the play-by-play announcer I would honestly consider not buying the game lol. Hawk made for a terrible watching experience, but some memorable YouTube compilations.

Re: MLB The Show 21: Five Things We Want From Franchise Mode

                  For someone who plays every six games and is in year 13 of a franchise a few things;

                  1. Acknowledge the franchises previous successes/failures. Mention they lost in the CS last year, talk about a WS rematch the following year, etc. how many losing/winning seasons

                  2. Talk about players stats on a more year to year basis. We get the awards lower third once in awhile but if I have a guy who has won back to back cy youngs, that’s worth a mention.

                  3. When we see the lower third for how a player was acquired, if they have been with the team a long time, mention the initial acquisition, not that you signed them as a FA last year. Hard to see a homegrown talent whose been on the team for 12 years be mentioned as a FA signing.

                  4. It’s been said a lot, but let’s see season to season stats for our minor leaguers. I am forced to keep a separate notes app tracking year to year highlights and stats to know who gets the call up and motion progression

                  5. I’d like to see more interesting trade offers coming in. After the first couple years, I only get 1-3 a season and they are such obvious No’s, that it would interesting to see better offers to make me compliment my team through these trades.

                    Honestly for me personally.

                    1. Downloadable and shareable draft classes. I love historic rosters. I hate not being able to add drafted players to them.

                    2. Shareable rebrands like 2k has for basketball. I don’t have the time for 30 rebrands, but love custom teams and chises.

If I had that level of customization. I’m in.

                          1. A budget/finance management system that makes sense and is engaging.

                          2. A complete overhaul of scouting, drafting, etc. This would include an IFA period.

                          3. Expanded player pages and stat tracking similar to 2k, as I saw mentioned previously.

                          4. Trade logic completely overhauled and more than 3 trading slots.

                          5. More “meat” on the bones. This is pretty vague, but there just isn’t a lot to do outside of playing games.

Something else that I'd like to see improved is the trade block. To many times you will see a player on the trade block and the position wanted is a secondary position for the player being traded.

Or a young player with 1 or more years of team control is on the trade block. At the very least, that player helps fill out the rosters and is easy on the budget.
