Pin Point pitching is worth the purchase alone. It's that good.

Re: MLB the Show 21 Impressions Thread
So I played a few games on Series X and for me, it doesnt feel as smooth as the PS5 version. The PCI doesn't move around as smoothly, it's kind of stuttery like it's not moving at the same framerate the rest of the game is. It was like that early on in the tech test as well but they fixed it after a day or so. But it's back to kinda being funky. Everything else is gorgeous though.

Between versions I talked to the coach. Flat out, he mentioned how disinterested they are to invest more time in Franchise mode.Comment

Re: MLB the Show 21 Impressions Thread
PS4
I know this game has some shortcomings and frustrations off the field of play, but on the field this game is so damn good.
I’m repeating I know and I’m sorry but the outfield play along with new animations take what was already stellar gameplay on ‘20 and lift it to a whole other level.
I can’t speak and won’t speak for other platforms but as someone who was jaded by the loss of y2y saves, the on field experience has turned that frustration into extreme joy.
In terms of on field gameplay, kudos to SDS

Re: MLB the Show 21 Impressions Thread
I struggled at first understanding it too. Then I realized you do it exactly as the diagram is doing it after you pick the pitch. Exact same speed as well.
so ill just use fastball. you go straight down then straight up and hold it up and line it up with that circle. Where the pitch finishes(where you aimed) a circle will appear that shrinks. You want to do a straight line motion to line up with that circle when the circle just gets the smallest. If you get to that circle before its shrunk you will throw it higher than you aimed(hanger) or too late after its shrunk it will be low(in the dirt). lining up the top circle and you gesture combined with timing will dictate how far off your mark you are. if the line is yellow you are gesturing to slow or fast. Red your way off speed wise. green means you are right on with gesture timing.
Watch the little demonstration after you pick the pitch and try to mimic it and you will figure it out.
the timing between the top circle and bottom circle varies depending on picture motion or if they are in a full wind up or the stretch which is also super cool as it adds variety between different pitchers. I really utilize the warm up pitcher feature now for the first time.
Ahhh. Thank you. Never noticed the circle shrinking. Thanks for you help

Re: MLB the Show 21 Impressions Thread
Totally agree, CB. The outfield play and the pinpoint pitching are my two favorite additions/improvements. Plus I feel like the colors, graphics, and faces are improved from ‘20. It’s a very beautiful game on the PS4 pro.

Re: MLB the Show 21 Impressions Thread
So I am loving the dual sense features for the game on PS5. Love the pop of the catchers mitt when you throw a pitch and when throwing to other bases. The one thing I would change is when you barrel up a ball. In real life you barely feel anything at all, but in the game, it rumbles pretty hard when you get perfect perfect. I would prefer to really feel the dual sense when hitting it off the end or label and then feel hardly anything when you smoke one. Would feel more authentic to me. Still a really cool feature regardless.

Re: MLB the Show 21 Impressions Thread
Anyone else get a perfect perfect and just get the rush through your hands due to the PS5 controller? LOL. A lot of people laugh at the haptic feedback but if you’ve felt it, you understand how it just emerges you in.Comment
