MLB the Show 21 Q&A

Rosters will take a lot longer than last year to materialize thanks to no year to year saves. Before roster makers could prepare in the previous year's iteration before the new version launched. Now they have to build from scratch after launch.



This also has driven a few roster makers away.

Oh okay yeah, I heard about that which makes sense why some roster makers have been driven away. I guess only time will tell then. Much appreciated

I seem to hit the max on saved logo slots while creating some college teams. After I create the team, can I go back and delete logos and the team will still continue using logos without being blank? I would hate to lose all my Florida Gator uniforms cause I deleted a Florida Gator logo slot.

I’m on Xbox if it makes any difference.

Extra inning baserunner rule in effect in my franchise.

I pinch hit for my reliever in the bottom of the 10th with Jean Segura and I don't score.

I go to the top of the 11th and make the switch of Segura for Seranthony Dominguez to start the inning and I give up 1 run in the top of the 11th ( the baserunner that was on 2nd). I don't score and I lose the game.

The game scores it as a loss for Jean Segura and no earned runs for either Segura or Dominguez.

Is that correct?

Why are the year to year saves gone? Is it because SDS moved over to PS5 and Series X?

Pretty much yes. They decided not to write any APIs to convert/enhance the files to be accessible for both systems. Two systems = two different architectures I guess. Anyway, it could have been done, but they chose not to throw time, money, and resources at it.

Birds are new so they overdid them.

Nope. 2021 and a AAA company still can't figure out how to make the schedule rotate.

and i was upset to see a cookie cutter shadow of a bird flying at 50ft-100ft off the ground. How can't you generate some blur effect on PS5 is something very symptomatic of what's going on in this studio right now.

I’ve actually been asking for airplanes and helicopters and other small ambient noises like random bi-planes and whatever to liven up the atmosphere for years. Never thought of birds though. [emoji23]

Am I missing something? What’s the point of even having sliders if, by tweaking even one of them, you can’t gain any of the game’s reward-based XP?

I’m not 22 anymore; I’d sure like to simply slow down the visuals on pitch speed without disabling a significant portion of the game.

This seems so unnecessarily punitive that I figure I must not understand something here. All the slider makers on here are cool at just writing off that much of the game’s potential content? I’m baffled...

You can't compare the those two things. Interleague schedules are obviously much tougher to put in than coding a few birds to fly in a pattern.

You're missing the point. This is a AAA studio. If they still can't figure out how to implement rotating interleague schedules then it should be worrying. That's not some technical feat that SDS should be incapable of doing. It should have been in the game a decade ago.

The fact that they still haven't implemented it is indefensible at this point in time.

You're missing the point. This is a AAA studio. If they still can't figure out how to implement rotating interleague schedules then it should be worrying. That's not some technical feat that SDS should be incapable of doing. It should have been in the game a decade ago.

The fact that they still haven't implemented it is indefensible at this point in time.
