Braves take 2 out of 3 from the NL Central leading Brew Crew

My starting pitcher's have been pitching like Cy Young's all except for Ynoa. I was getting kind of worried that it was too easy. But in this series my starter's all seemed normal..

Game 1: I. Anderson vs. Lindblom. Both pitcher's went 6IP. Earning a quality start, but yielding a no decision. Actually my offense woke up in the Top of 9th. After being down 3-2. We tied it 3-3 off their big time closer Hader(BS,2). Game went into the 10th and there we exploded for 3 runs. C Flowers had a RBI single and Albies with a 2RHR! We won 6-3!

Game 2: Ynoa vs. Lauer. Ynoa got drummed again. Going 4IP,6H,5R,5ER,3BB & 2K.
Brewers starter Lauer was a stud. 8.0IP,7H,0R,0ER,1BB & 4K. Although my offense got the hits, but not the clutch ones. We lost 5-0!

Game 3: Morton vs. Woodruff. Morton did his job going 6.0IP,7H,3R,3ER,2BB & 5K. Woodruff left the game after 1 pitch with a day-to-day injury. My offense rolled. We saw the ball better after he left. We exploded for 8 runs on 13 hits. (5) 2B, HR(2). We won 8-3!

We are 21-19, 4th in the NL East and 1.5GB of the first place Nationals(22-17). 1.5GB of the top Wildcard spot. As far as Ynoa struggles when his time comes around the rotation. He is 0-4, 8 starts, 3 QS, 4.57ERA not bad, K/9(7.48). I will stick with him for 2 more starts. The stuff is there, so I have to unlock it.

Eight game homestand up next: 4 vs. the Mets(20-19) and 4 vs. the Pirates(12-28). This will complete a 14 game straight playing period. I have to get Freeman and Albies a day off. It is tough doing that because both of them are displaying the hot player symbol. I am seeing it at the plate. Freeman BA.292, 4HR,17RBI & 112B. Albies BA .290,4HR,17RBI,17R,2B(7) & 3B(6).

      September 20, 2020 | CHICAGO, IL

A would-be sacrifice fly turned into a game-ending double play as the Cubs were unable to avoid being swept by the Colorado Rockies at Wrigley Field Sunday afternoon. With one out and the bases loaded in the bottom of the ninth Daniel Descalso flied to center in what looked to be a game-tying sacrifice fly. Steven Souza was tagged out on a close play at home, ending the Cubs comeback bid.

"It was a close game and we just came up a bit short," said Cubs skipper David Ross. "We are still in a good spot and have to keep looking forward, not backwards."

The Cubs, who will have home field advantage in the National League Divisional Series against the Atlanta Braves, have struggled at the plate of late. After leading the Major League in most statistical categories for most of the season, the Cubs offense have been very silent of late. The Cubs have scored two runs or fewer in 10 games of the month of September, but Cubs manager David Ross doesn't seem overly concerned.

"You go through highs and lows all year, and I know what this club is capable of. I have all the confidence in the world in what they can do."

The Cubs have just five games remaining in the 2020 season and will take on the Pittsburgh Pirates in a two-game set starting Tuesday at PNC Park. They'll be off Thursday before coming home to take on the St. Louis Cardinals for the final three games of the year.

My offense has disappeared at the worst possible time. Ha. I have five games left in the season and I can’t hit.

The ebbs and flows of a baseball season are brutal, as just when you think its all going right, boom it all goes wrong.

And those times it goes wrong always seem to come at the most inopportune times.

Hopefully you break the slump quickly

Ironically, Ynoa has been pitching great for me. 2nd best era and the best WHIP in my rotation and he's only 1 behind the league lead in Wins so far. Soroka has been having a rough time though. And Toussaint got roughed up when he was filling in for Fried.

Ah i know right! I cannot pitch to save my life right now.

i've gone from 2nd best ERA in baseball to 8th
least HR's given up to 5th

and my team era from 2.62 to 3.79

all in the span of 3 series against the brewers, braves and Reds. That braves lineup gives me fits.

from a 3 game lead at the top of the NL central where to 1.5 games back in just a fortnight.

Re: MLB The Show 21 Franchise Discussion Thread

Game two of a 4 game set Vs the Braves.

After losing game 1 in extra innings 5-3 the Cubs got back on track with a 5-3 of their very own.

The Braves in their own ballpark wheeled out Morton, who went against Kukuchi of the Cubs.

A big 1st inning for the Cubs.

Leadoff bloop from Hoerner, who advanced to 2nd on a wild pitch. Which allowed Morton to pitch around the Cubs Cleanup Polanco.

which bought Ian Happ to the plate in the midst of hot streak and he crushed the first pitch he saw, a curveball that hung in the middle. 453 feet later, it's 3-nil.

Over the next four innings Braves worked their way back into the game to draw even at 3-3.

Then in the bottom of the 7th in the most bizarre way to take a lead. A wild pitch which was also strike three and innings over got past the Atlanta backstop. But hit the bricks so hard the ball rebounded straight back to him who was halfway between 3rd and home. he fired his throw to 3B, not 1B for the inning out play -- my advancing runner, 37-year old plodding backup catcher Chirinos was out cold.

                but!

the throw sailed right over the 3B head in to the wall in RF, which allowed the slowest man in baseball to steal 2B and score off a wild pitch and an error. Meanwhile the struck out batter Michael Hermosillo made his way all around 2nd.

Contreras then singled into shallow centre and Hermosillo scored which made the score 5-3 at the top of the 8th.

But in all the excitement and confusion. I wheeled out my closer Hector Neris to close the game in the 8th, not the 9th. The first time i've ever ever done that haha

Neris sat the side down 1-2-3, and me reeling from the stuff up and wondering who the hell is gonna close this thing out, got sat down 1-2-3 at the top of the 9th.

Enter 71 rated back up Starter and long reliever Zach Davies, who has a windup I cannot figure out, and a resulting 7.32 ERA

Luckily he was facing 7-8-9 and all the Braves had on the bench in reserve was their back up catcher with 34 contact for RHP.

Still, Davies drew this thing out and with runner on the corners, 2-out he came against Acuna, who flew out on his first pitch deep at the CF wall. The wind was 15kts blowing in from CF, had the wind been in any other direction, Acuna walks them off.

Baseball is just a weird game sometimes ...

2021 Baltimore Orioles ALDS Game 5

                  Final Score:
                  CLE-11
                  BAL-1

                  Cleveland celebrates in Maryland

The Cleveland Indians will face the New York Yankees in the 2021 ALCS. In game five, the Indians had their pay back and reversed the Oriole's game three victory (also 11-1). For the second time this post season, John Means was shelled by the Indians batters (5.0 IP 9 H 6 R). His stat line was very similar to game one of the series (5.0 IP 11 H 5 R). Blame could certainly be put on the Orioles manager as Means was left in for far too long in both starts.

The team should feel great about their over achieving season but with the success in the regular season, the team was hungry for more in the playoffs. The team will have a lot to think about in the offseason as only Chris Davis (35 YO 55 OVR) and Michael Brantley are signed through next season.

                  Playoff results

                  ALCS
CLE wins series over NYY 4-2

                  World Series
CLE wins series over LAD 4-2

**what a game that last game must have been. 14 innings, Cleveland won 9-8 with 16 hits while the Dodgers got 21 total hits.

About Ynoa, I love that he has a big time arm. Hard thrower without maxing out the pitching meter. That is why I am sticking him in my Braves Franchise.

Yup, and for me, dude just doesn't walk anyone. Granted, even with 0 pitcher control I don't walk many anyway because I use pinpoint, but he's low even compared to my other starters.

Just had one of the craziest games I've ever had on The Show. A scoreless 19-inning marathon ended with an RBI single by Kris Bryant over the Cardinals. Cubs pitchers recorded 32 strikeouts while Cubs hitters struck out 20 times. Insanity.

Cubs beat Cardinals 1-0 in 19 innings!
