Been a long while since I posted. Well the trades were nuts! I swear I didn't cheat at all with my lottery trade system and the New York Mets landed RF Juan Soto!

I will recap who all "buyers" were able to get with trades tmrrw. There were a lot! Big surprises and craziness. Tigers and Rockies really making moves. Rockies lineup now is just insane lol. Will post tmrrw. Took like 3 hours to make all these trades, and still had 4 guys on the list to trade. It was a blast though seeing who went where. Midnight struck and sorry for them!

Got "operation failed" on a save for the second time in a couple weeks. At least this time I only lost a week of games instead of a month. Still really annoying.

Man that sucks. Do you save multiple files for your franchise's? I have 2-3 saves per franchise every time I save.

            JULY 15: IBL ALL-STAR GAME

San Diego’s Matt Mulder was the MVP with this two-run home run.

Las Vegas, NV (AP) – The Desert League jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the top of the first and never looked back as the won the inaugural Intermountain Baseball League All-Star Game in Las Vegas at the new MGM Park by a score of 5-2 over the Mountain League. San Diego’s Matt Mulder hit a two-run home run off of Sam Gonzalez that proved to be the winner as he went home with the MVP of the game.

Colorado Springs’ Sam Gonzalez has been the best pitcher in the IBL this season, but he got roughed up on Tuesday evening. Gilbert’s Anthony Ortiz lined a single to open the game and that was followed by back-to-back RBI doubles from Garrett Matthews (Mesa) and John Nichols (Mesa) as the Desert League jumped out to a 2-0 lead. 18-year-old Sam Mulder then hit a two-run home run to the opposite field that just cleared the wall to make it 4-0 before the Mountain League even came to the plate.

Garrett Matthews would add an RBI double in the fifth to put the DL up 5-0.

The Mountain League would finally get on the board in the bottom of the fifth on a Randy Klaus (Fort Worth) solo home run. They would add a run in the eighth on a Richie Guerrero (Santa Fe) RBI single but that was it.

Steve Willis of Long Beach picked up the win, working two scoreless and hitless innings. Geronimo Ortega of Gilbert would pick up the save as he worked a scoreless ninth.

Flagstaff’s Sam Herzog was the team’s lone All-Star. He pitched two innings, allowing one run on one hit.

Yeah, that's why I only lost a week (and by week, I mean in game, so I'll have to replay 3 games) of games. I just accidentally tried to save over the most recent file instead of saving over an old file. Otherwise I would have just lost 1 game.

Wow well that's not so bad then. I remember years past losing an entire franchise save file do to the file corrupt message and losing months of work.

I like to re-rate my rosters to reflect the SDS roster updates (mostly to account for young guys who break out like a Spencer Strider, Michael Harris, or Vaughn Grissom for my Braves). It backing up meant me having to redo a roster update, which can take a few hours by itself. Then I had to redo the post-deadline lineups (since I control the lineups/rotations for all 30 teams), and that took quite a bit of time. Luckily, this time I don't have to redo all that. I just have to replay a few games.

Cardinals swept by Cubs in St.Louis

The Cardinals (40-32) were swept by the Cubs in St.Louis over the weekend. The Cardinals now find themselves a full game behind the Brewers in the NL Central.

Simple put the Cardinals are just playing bad baseball right now. No one area is the reason, but no one area is a reason for optimism at this point. Starting pitching is struggling, the bullpen is blowing up late, hitters aren't hitting, fielders are kicking the ball around, and base running blunders resemble Little League. It's bad.

Help is coming as Adam Duvall was activated off the IL and will be in the lineup Tuesday against the Diamondbacks. The front office is proclaiming help is on the way, but the Cards are strapped financially so the Cards will have to be creative.

In any event, things in St.Louis look dire at the moment, but its only mid-June. Plenty of time to right the ship. Also plenty of time for it to completely sink.
I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

                      My Braves franchise update:

I just finished a 3-game series vs. the D-backs. They took the series 2 games to 1, but we won the series finale, 7-1!

Before this series started, I made a roster move. We removed LF/DH Ozuna (.201/.227/.305, OPS .531,174AB) from the 40-man roster. We called up C/DH William Contreras to filled the DH role.
He went 5 for 10, 2HR, 2B(1),2RBI in the series vs. the D-backs. Ozuna was officially released after no one claimed hime after 3 days.

                      Game 1: D-backs SP Gallen (8.0IP,4H,0R,0ER,2BB & 5K) outlast Ky.Wright(7.0IP,3H,0R,0ER,BB & 7K) They won 1-0!

Game 2: It was the debut of SP Luzardo(5.0IP,6H,1R,1ER,0BB & 4K). It was short lived he left with an injury, but it was a precautionary move. The D-backs in the bttm 9th scored 2 runs giving them a 3-2 victory! CP Jansen BSV(3) out of 16 SVO.

Game 3: We jumped them early 4R in the first frame. We cruised to a 7-1 win! With our "Ace" on the hill SP Fried(7.OIP,4H,1R,1ER,0BB & 7K) He's 8-0, with a 2.41ERA & third place in the All-star for SP! Also Acuna Jr. hit his 19th HR, also DH/C Contreras hits 2nd HR & Heredia w/3RHR.

We are 32-24 on the year. 1.5 GB back if the 1st place Mets(34-23). Slotted 2nd in the WC behind the D-backs (33-24).
Up next a 4-day weekend in Colorado vs. the Rockies. With an off day following a 17-game played in a row!9d9a9b45-67a9-4ae1-a899-c32b4eb7f9f8.jpegaadf443e-dec2-4ca0-8b11-057740826133.jpeg76b1acd9-db90-4fce-9e40-56445dab17c0.jpeg

Re: MLB The Show 22 Franchise Discussion Thread

I just finished the All-Star break in my Guardians franchise. The Guardians needed the break, and it must be said that they did not go into the off-week with too much momentum. They lost the three previous series against the Royals, White Sox, and Tigers and only just managed to salvage the series finale against the Tigers on an error in extras of all things. That game did not sit very well with the team, as despite the win...they saw the bullpen give up a 6-0 lead. It was also the first time newly acquired Alex Wood made a start for the Guardians, he made a few bullpen appearances beforehand, but the team wanted to see him in a starting role. Cal Quantrill, who was scheduled to start, took over in the sixth and the wheels came off after that. Quantrill has been a decent starter this year, but after the second or third time through the lineup, he has gotten into trouble. The team was debating on whether to trade a starter away or move someone to the 'pen, and it looks like they will keep Quantrill in the 'pen for now and continue to keep Alex Wood in the starting role. They don't want to make many changes at this trade deadline, as the team is young and shows much potential already.

Just before the unofficial second half started, the White Sox and Red Sox made a major deal that saw All Star closer Liam Hendricks shipped up to Boston (sorry, couldn't help myself) for Tanner Houck and Alex Verdugo. The White Sox are contenders this year, while the Red Sox are vying with the Orioles for last place in the AL East. It should be noted that the Guardians open up the second half against the White Sox, and both teams are fighting for a Wild Card spot right now.

                        Current AL Central Standings
                        Minnesota: 57-41
                        Chicago: 52-46
                        Cleveland: 50-47
                        Detroit: 42-56
                        Kansas City: 40-57

                          2023 Arizona Diamondbacks 04/17-04/19

                          Overall Record:10-8 (3rd NL West)

Diamondbacks drop two of three to the Mets

That was not a good homestand for the Arizona Diamondbacks. Arizona went 2-5 at home with four games against St. Louis and three against the New York Mets. Two of the losses were blowouts (11-1 Vs. St. Louis and 12-2 Vs. New York).

The two wins in the homestand came in back to back games with the last game against St. Louis (6-3) and the first game against New York (3-1). The offense also struggled throughout with the most runs being scored in that 6-3 victory. Other then that, Arizona failed to score more then three runs in any game during the homestand.

Josh Rojas also suffered his second minor injury of the season but he should be able to return to the lineup before the next series as Arizona heads back on the road with a trip to Cleveland to face the Guardians (9-11).

Just played a crazy ALDS series against Tampa Bay as the Rangers

                            Rangers win game 1 4-0

                            Tampa wins game 2 3-1

Tampa wins game 3 7-6 after my starter gives up 5 in 2 innings.

                            Rangers win game 4 10-2

For game 5 the Rangers are losing 2-1. Bottom of the 9th one on one out. Marcus Semien hits a game winning homerun to win the series!

Now I play Toronto who I played 6 times in the regular season and lost 5 of them lol.

                              2023 Arizona Diamondbacks 04/21-04/23

                              Overall Record:13-8 (1st NL West)

                              Welcome back Josh!

Josh Rojas returned to the Diamondbacks lineup in the second game of Arizona's three game series in Cleveland. Rojas slid right back into his second spot in Arizona's line up and did not disappoint. In his first game back, Josh hit two home runs and a double to help lead Arizona to the 8-5 victory. He hit another homer in game three which came in the fourth inning to tie the game at 1-1 at that point. The offense would catch fire from there in the 10-3 victory.

Arizona also won the first game of the series 7-2. With the three wins, Arizona swept Cleveland and took over the first spot in the NL West. Arizona now travels to New York to face the Mets who beat them in the series before the series with Cleveland. New York is 14-7 on the year and currently lead the NL East, a half game above the Atlanta Braves (14-8).

Do to some personal issues, I won’t have access to PS5 for awhile. Hopefully I won’t be gone long and get back in the action.
I have played probably 15 games since my last update with pretty much the same results.
The Reds are 9.5 gb the Cardinals and 9 gb the Brewers with about 25-30 games left. I don’t see me ever catching both of them. So I am retiring this franchise. After they fix me up, hopefully I will start another one in a couple of months. If it takes longer than that I might just wait and see what 23 has to offer.

I have some good tunes to listen to so it won’t be bad. Good luck fellas and God Bless.
