Re: MLB The Show 22 Franchise Discussion Thread

Speaking of brutality and going up in smoke...the 2022 Guardians have hit a wall, or potentially multiple walls. They have now lost series against Texas, Baltimore, Oakland and Colorado and just lost the first game of the series against the Dodgers. The offense is sputtering, and when it does manage to score, the pitching struggles. Even the stronger arms in the bullpen have been inconsistent lately. The good news is Shane Bieber is due to return in a week, just in time for some division series. The Guardians are currently in third place in the AL Central, and while it is still June there has been cause for concern.

I don't have any numbers off the top of my head but basically Jose Ramirez is keeping the ball club afloat for the time being while everyone else tries to get back in the groove.

Re: MLB The Show 22 Franchise Discussion Thread

The Los Angeles Dodgers are the 2022 World Series Champions, as they defeated the Toronto Blue Jays 4-2 in a highly-competitive 6-game series.

The Dodgers went 3-0 at home in the series, and held the Blue Jays to a single run in each of the 3 games.

Toronto powered its way back into the series winning 2 of its 3 home games, but ultimately the lack of run support on the road was too much to overcome.

A heck of a run by the Blue Jays, who are poised to be in contention for years to come with its young core of position players and a solid pitching staff.

After acquiring Jose Berrios at the trade deadline, the assumption had been that Kyle Wright would be the odd man out on the postseason rotation. But Berrios has had a rough September so far while Wright has been quite good. Unless he turns it around over his final four starts, Berrios could be in danger of losing his spot on the roster in October.

On the opposite end of the spectrum, Alex Reyes may be playing his way onto the postseason roster. He's only made two appearances since being called up, but he's been dominant over three innings. The Cardinals DFA'd him in the offseason after he had an 8.00 ERA in 2021. The Astros signed him and stashed him in Triple-A, where he had a sub-3 ERA. We acquired him in a minor trade in July. He's got a good chance to play a role for us in October and beyond.

Playoff picture with less than a month to go

            NL
            1. Braves
            2. Padres
            3. Cardinals
            4. Dodgers
            5. Mets

The Cubs are 5.5 back of the Cardinals in the Central and the Nationals are 6 back in the wild-card race.

The Reds have been ... uh, red-hot of late. They won 11 straight and something like 18 of 20. They spent most of the season battling the Pirates in the cellar, but they're now only 2 back of the Brewers for third and have a shot to reach .500.

            AL
            1. White Sox
            2. Yankees
            3. Astros
            4. Rays
            5. Twins

The magic number for the White Sox is down to 3. The Rays suffered through a 9-game losing streak to all but concede the East to the Yankees. The Astros are currently riding a 10-game losing streak that has allowed the Angels back into the picture in the West.

The Blue Jays have won 9 in a row to get into the wild-card picture. Less than a game separates the Twins from the Angels and Jays. The Mariners are still lurking as well.
I just love the randomness of player's performance's in this game. Nothing is a guarantee.

Thanks, guys. Definitely tough to come so close to winning it all, but it was a heck of a postseason run and the Dodgers were the best team all season.

I added a couple of bullpen arms and Enrique Hernandez is my utility fielder option. Nice to have so many players performing well and under team control to where I don't have to (or want) overspend for a star player.

My Braves have hit a little skid in the franchise!!
50 games in, in the midst of a 14 or 17 game straight stretch! It's a 4-game losing streak!

We opened our lengthy homestand vs the Phillies for 4 games. We lost all four. The Phillies were beginning a winning streak and it extended to a 6 game streak.

The Mets (32-19) have taken over the N.L. East by 1.5 games over us (30-20). We are still 6.5 games up on the red hot Phillies (25-25). We're the leading dog in the Wildcard standings as well.

Sidenote: I adjusted my sliders about 10 games back. I thought it was too in my favor, but every year the Show A.I. re adjust their competiveness. You go from 15 games over .500 to 4-game losing streaks. But that's the beauty of how this game plays to me.

Up next a 3 game series vs. the Marlins!

                      2023 Arizona Diamondbacks 04/10-04/11

                      Overall Record:7-3 (2nd NL West)

Diamonds extend streak to 5 with sweep of Mariners

The Mariners and Diamondbacks came into their early season matchup with just three losses a piece. After the two game series, Arizona still has just the three while Seattle now has five. The first game was a tightly contested affair with Corbin Martin facing off against Robbie Ray. In that matchup, Martin outpitched Ray enroute to a 4-3 Diamondbacks victory that saw a couple of veterans, Christian Walker and Michael Brantley knock in all of Arizona's runs.

Game 2 saw Aaron Nola pitch his best game in a Diamondback uniform. In his third start of the season, Nola was able to pitch a complete game shutout which include him striking out 7 Mariner batters while walking just 1 and allowing just two hits. In the game, Brantley had another two RBI's to lead the offensive side of the ball as Arizona took the second game, 5-0.

Arizona will now return home to start their first extended homestand of the season with four Vs. the St Louis Cardinals (8-3). Seattle will stay home for a four game series of their own against the Houston Astros (8-4).

Sorry for the ignorance. Is this the next generation Xbox? Reason I ask is cause I just got a ps5 and in order to play my saved season I have to play the ps4 version still on my ps5.

Also, if it's the next gen Xbox you'll have to link it on the show.com site like you did with the switch and Xbox one.

Sorry, just realized you've used it all year after re-reading your post lol.

Try downloading the game save not on the cloud and re-upload on the cloud again with a fresh save. I've had this error come up for me before and that's what I did to fix it.

April 2022: Chicago finishes April a surprising 18-9. It doesn't hurt that they won 8 games against Cincinnati and Pittsburgh with a surprising series win against the defending champion Atlanta Braves. Strong starts from Wade Miley (2.90) who is 3-0 and Keegan Thompson (1.99) at 4-1 has been a pleasant surprise for Cubs fans. The ball is also flying out of Wrigley, as Chicago has a combined 18 homers in 27 games with rookie Christopher Morel hitting 7 of them in 107 at bats. The real test begins this week however as the schedule gets a bit more difficult. They welcome the Southside White Sox into town and then compete against The 23-4 Dodgers and another NL contender in the San Diego Padres at Petco Park.

So we have reached the trade deadline in my Mets season! From here until playoffs I gotta simulate or I won't finish to be honest. Just got a ps5 and can't play ps5 version with ps4 saved game data unfortunately. Sooo if I don't sim I surely will not finish.

I will be manually trading everyone using randomness to select which "buyer" receive x player based on what they need. For the Mets, since the budget is a problem my workaround is to release players and claim off waivers manually to perform the "trade" IF I win the lottery pick of said player being traded. Here is the list of buyers. If not listed they are selling away or a team like Cardinals will be neutral.

Big surprises! Braves who had a stunning 8-19 record in the month of June are selling the team off! Players to be traded include Max Fried, Kenley Jansen, and Adam Duvall. Anyways...
I just took top two in each division, plus a few from each wildcard standings.

                            AL Buyers:

Yankees, Rays, Guardians, Twins, Tigers, Angels, Astros, and Mariners.

                            NL buyers:

Mets, Marlins, Brewers, Dodgers, Padres, Diamondbacks, Rockies.

Yes the NL West is that crazy! Rockies are 3rd with a 60-47 record.

I'll put together some trades and will post what happens by this weekend.

Minor update: Acuna hit a three-run 10th-inning homer to lift us past the Nats. With the win, we've clinched a playoff spot with 20 games to go.

I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(
