From a gameplay stand point I think its absolutely worth the upgrade. '22 plays extremely well on the field.

Presentation/Commentary is a wash in my opinion. While some of the new presentation elements are nice, there are things that are missing that really stand out if you play every game or high volume of games in a season. Pop ups showing league leaders in stats, team rankings in stats, pitcher comparisons, farm reports, etc...are missing. Commentary while fresh, does become repetitive quickly and honestly after a while doesn't hold up as well as Matty V and the crew.

Franchise while better in some regards (93 man rosters, budget now only for 40 man roster as in real life, expanded finances for teams to help sign players), its not that much improved over '20.

I've played 2 and a half seasons on '22 and honestly found myself going back to '21 for various reasons.

If you're truly ready to hang up '20, or are really looking for an improvement in gameplay then I'd say get '22. If not, then honestly I'm not sure its worth it, especially at full price.

If you have additional questions feel free to ask here or PM me.

Cardinals swept by Royals extending losing streak to 5 games

The Cardinals (83-76) were swept in a mini 2 game series in Kansas City against the Royals as they see their losing streak climb to 5 straight games. The only positive out of this is the Reds were beaten up by the Pirates so the Cardinals are just one game behind the Reds in the NL Central.

Cardinals scored just one run in this mini series, a solo homerun by Nolan Arenado in Wednesday afternoon's game. The Cards lost 3-0 on Tuesday and then 5-1 on Wednesday. Not what you want to see from a team that is struggling, on the outside looking in to the playoffs, and watching their championship aspirations just slip away.

The Cardinals will travel to Cincinnati for a 3 game weekend series against the Reds to close out the regular season. The Cardinals need a sweep to win the division, or at least win the series to force a game 163.

Frustrating considering where this team was not 3 weeks ago.

Cardinals season comes to an end as they drop series to Reds

The Cardinals 2023 season has come to a crashing end as they dropped 2 games of a 3 game series to Reds and will miss the postseason for the 2nd time in 3 years. The Cardinals entered the series on a 5 game losing streak and needed to sweep to win the division, or at least take 2 of 3 to force a game 163, but neither occurred. The Cardinals lost the first two games of the series thus missing the postseason and watching the Reds celebrate their NL Central Championship. The Cardinals would win on Sunday to at least break a 7 game losing streak and finish the season at 84-78.

Their attention now will turn to the offseason and try to put together a team that can get them back into postseason play. A lot of decisions will need to be made by the front office as they have a lot of arbitration available players and free agents. Most notable free agent being Jack Flaherty, with Harrison Bader a close second. No doubt starting pitching will be a focal point as well as catcher for this club. The rest will depend on what happens with re-signings and arbitration discussions.

Extremely frustrating end to a season in which the Cards were in 1st place of the division for the better part of season, only to crash and burn in the final 2 weeks. But I guess thats baseball.

July 10: my Mets have dropped 3 straight to the Marlins and the offense has been so blah Billy Eppler knew a move had to be made. The Mets acquire Alejandro Kirk from the Blue Jays for Robinson Cano, Chasen Shreve, and pitching prospect Matt Allen (#10 prospect in org). The Jays just lost Bo Bichette for a while and needed some help at 2nd with Cano. Also Shreve fills a hole im their pen and Allen is a nice prospect for Kirk, who hasn’t been near as good as he has been irl. .680ish ops had him running behind Danny Jansen and Zach Collins. Fun fact is that Kirks first major league hit came off Chasen Shreve. Interesting trade between 2 first place teams that I think is somewhat realistic and should help both teams in the immediate

I lost to the Astros in the World Series 4-1. HOU won game 1, SD won game 2. Then Houston won games 3,4,5 ALL BY WALKOFF. It was a heart breaking end for us who could have easily won the WS.

In the offseason we didn't have much movement. We let Sean Manaea walk and decided to part ways with Jorge Alfaro to give top prospect Luis Campusano his chance. C is his job to lose. We did sign JD Martinez to a surprisingly low 1 year 5 mil contract.

                VS RHP

                SS Tatis
                RF Soto
                3B Machado
                1B Bell
                LF Martinez
                DH Drury
                2B Cronenworth
                C Campusano
                CF Grisham

                VS LHP

                CF Tatis
                RF Soto

                C Campusano
                SS Kim

Lineup may be too power reliant but can't deny the thump in this batting order.

Question will be who will win the 5th spot in the rotation.

                Musgrove
                Darvish
                Snell
                Clevinger
                Martinez/Weathers/Morejon/Contreras

I do like Morejon maybe more as a SU man but Spring Training will decide.

Sorry to hear this! Do you think trying 22' threw off your mo-jo? I'm sure you will right the Cardinal virtual ship! Looking forward to see what moves you make in the off-season.

What's going on fellow Show gamers! I haven't did an update from my Braves franchise on X-box X in awhile, so here it is!

The Braves record is 30-16, good 1st in the NL East! Tied with the Dodgers with the best record in baseball. We are 1.0 game up on the Mets(30-18). Who are streaking at 10-game winning streak. It's a 2-team race at the moment, the others are at least 8.5 GB back. But we are in the midst of a 17 game straight stretch. The first 10 games are vs the Marlins(6) & the Phillies(4).

                    Stats wise: 3B Riley is 3rd BA(.336, 9HR,20RBI) 3rd in All-star votes.
                    1B Olson is 1st in HRs(17HR,35RBI) 1st in All-Star votes. RF Acuna Jr. 2nd in HRs(16HR,35RBI,10SB,32R) 2nd in All-Star votes. 2B Albies currently on the 10-day DL w/sprained knee ligament. Leads the 2B All-Star votes, 10HR,20RBI.
                    I forgot about Eddie! He's Everyday Eddie, 10HR,24RBI BA.298. 2nd in All-Star voting.

                    Pitching: SP Fried(7-0, 2.48ERA,69.0IP,62K) 2nd in All-Star votes. KY. Wright(5-1,1.71ERA,58.0IP,48K) top 10 I All-Star votes.
                    CP Jansen(13 of 14 SVO, 22.0IP,24K,2.45ERA) is 4th in All-Star voting.

Up next 4 games vs. the Phillies @Truist Park!

                      2023 Arizona Diamondbacks 03/30-04/02

                      Overall Record:3-1 (2nd NL West)

Offense shines in season opening series between Colorado and Arizona

There were 99 hits, 28 HRs and 67 runs in the four game season opening series between the Arizona Diamondbacks and the Colorado Rockies. The series was great for the offenses not so much for the pitchers. In fact, the lowest ERA for a starting pitcher after the series is 5.14 for Zac Gallen of the Diamondbacks.

Two D-Backs players made their MLB debut in the series, Stone Garrett and Jordan Lawlar. Lawlar is in the line up as the everyday shortstop. He went 6 for 17 in the series with 1 HR, 1 RBI and 1 SB. Garrett is in the lineup vs. LHP as the DH. He went 4 for 9 with two HR and 7 RBI. His first major league hit was a GRAND SLAM in the second game of the series (his first).

Both teams suffered an injury in the first game of the series and both injuries came as defenders dove for batted balls. Arizona's Josh Rojas dove for a ground ball that got past him and into the outfield. He bruised his ribs and missed the remainder of the series but should be back soon. Kris Bryant dove for a fly ball in left field and strained his tricep. He too missed the remainder of the series but will look to return soon as well.

Arizona has an off day before travelling to Los Angeles to face the Dodgers who swept the Padres in their four game season opening series.

Some interesting developments out of Lakeland —

                        • RHP Casey Mize and OF Riley Greene among those in danger of starting season at AAA
                        • LF Taylor Trammell ahead of Greene, Baddoo, Cameron & Carpenter for third OF spot
                        • CF Victor Reyes & C Jake Rogers currently slotted as everyday
                        • RHP Ty Madden making push to start year in majors, outpacing Manning, Mize
                        Just one man’s opinion.
I don’t actually care about any of this.

Bummer break for the Astros. Lance McCullers makes his first appearance of the season on August 7th and only made it 1 2/3 innings before tearing his hamstring. He's out for 1-2 months which makes his status for the postseason (the Astros are current 0.5 up on the Mariners) in question. I've got Mike Soroka making his first start of the year going against Jacob deGrom in his 2nd start of the year next up, hopefully it goes better for me than it did for the Astros.

The Red Sox (down 1 game to the Yankees) also lost the newly Reese McGuire for 1-2 months with a broken forearm. Having traded Vazquez to the Astros, they had to call up a rookie to handle catching duties down the stretch.

Starting up my, hopefully last franchise of '22 with the V2 rosters. Was wondering how people are handling transactions with these rosters. I've considered turning off trades and injuries and simulating up to the current date, I've considered just turning off trades and currently now what I'm leaning towards is just playing it normal and treating it as my own universe. Probably won't make any big teams for my team, but if another team feels the need to shake things up then so be it.

I had a Mets franchise going since April and then restarted after the TDL with the SDS roster update that came out on August 3rd. Pretty disappointed with myself BUT Soto on the Nats was wayy too annoying to me to not restart. I simulated to August 4th and played 1 game per series from there

Been playing since, and finished with 103 wins with my Mets and now in the NLCS against the Brewers surprisingly (who beat the Dodgers). I beat the Braves in 4 games in NLDS, and am up 3-0 now on Milwaukee.

Twins or Guardians (also surprisingly) are waiting for me in the WS if I finish it off.

THE TORONTO BLUE JAYS ARE WORLD SERIES BOUND!!!

In what was the biggest home run since Joe Carter's World Series walk off in 1993, Vladimir Guerrero Jr.'s 2-run home run was also of the walk off variety, and it propelled the Blue Jays into the 2022 World Series with a thrilling 10-8 win in Game 5 of the ALCS over the Los Angeles Angels.

Toronto managed to withstand a cycle and 5-for-5 performance from Mike Trout to clinch the series. Toronto lost Game 1, then won the next four games, with games 2-4 all decided by 1 run, and Game 5 tied in the bottom of the 9th and ultimately decided by 2 runs.

Toronto faces the Los Angeles Dodgers, who swept the Milwaukee Brewers in the NLCS.

                                ‐-‐--------

What a series! It was a super close series despite the 4-1 result. The Angels gambled not pitching Ohtani, who won Game 1, in Game 5. Honestly, if we lost Game 5, the series was very likely going 7 games as Ohtani has owned the Blue Jays, and Syndergaard would've gone in Gmae 7, again giving the Angels the edge.

It has been such a fun ride and we will end it playing the best team in the regular season.
