Mullins put the Yanks back up by 4 with a 2 run home run in the 7th off Andrew Chafin. Javier Baez homered in the top of the 8th, to cut it to a 3 run lead, but the Tigers could get no closer. Eduardo Rodriguez took the loss.

Hello, this may be out of place, but there is nowhere else that has been responsive.
I tried to post my team introduction in this franchise discussion thread, but it said it would be reviewed by a moderator... Is my account not activated yet? Why do I have to go through a moderator when it says I have posting privileges...
Thanks!

BOX SCORE
For the first time since 2012, the Detroit Tigers are headed back to the World Series. The Tigers defeated the New York Yankees 7-1 Thursday night in game 5, to win the American League Pennant 4 games to 1.
Casey Mize, and Gerrit Cole matched each other pitch for pitch through 7 innings, neither allowing a run. Cole ran into trouble in the top of the 8th, however. With one out, Javier Baez hit a routine ground ball to second. However the throw from second baseman D.J. LeMahieu sailed over the head of first basemen Anthony Rizzo, and Baez was safe at first. Juan Soto then walked, putting runners at first and second. Spencer Torkelson drove home Baez on a single to left, 1-0 Detroit. Miguel Cabrera singled, loading the bases. Austin Meadows hit a 2 run single down the first base line, scoring Soto and Torkelson, for a 3-0 Tiger lead. Jonathan Schoop singled, to re-load the bases. Jeimer Candelario followed with a double to center, scoring Cabrera, Meadows, and Schoop, putting the Tigers up 6-0. Kyle Dutcher would add a single, plating Candelario, and the Tigers led 7-0.
The Yankees would get a run in the bottom of the 8th, on a Kiner-Falefa RBi single, but that would be all they could muster. Michael Fulmer pitched a scoreless 9th to seal the win.
Casey Mize went 8 innings, allowing just 4 hits, 1 earned run, and struck out 15. Cole went 7.1 innings, allowing 1 unearned run, on 4 hits, with 5 strikeouts and 3 walks.
The Tigers now await the winner of the National League Championship Series. The Mets currently lead the series 3 games to 2. That series will continue Friday night in New York, with Chris Bassitt opposing Walker Buehler. Game 7 will be Saturday, if necessary. Jacob deGrom would face Julio Urias if that game is needed.
The World Series is slated to begin on Wednesday, October 26, in Detroit. The Tigers will have 5 days off before Game 1, allowing Manager A.J. Hinch to set up his pitching rotation however he sees fit. It is expected that either Casey Mize, or Tarik Skubal will start Game 1.Comment

Re: MLB The Show 22 Franchise Discussion Thread
Fun series I just wrapped up in San Fran. Pederson walked me off in game 1: https://clips.twitch.tv/FamousDilige...tZtNZu-X5IU4Qn
They won game 2 and then game 3 was wild. My bats had been sleepy all series then Big Dom got the boys going with a 3 run go ahead homer in the 8th, https://clips.twitch.tv/AlertTriangu...9fSmy0XGRP-Qtw
We ended up blowing that lead in the 9th, both team went scoreless in the 10th, 11th, and 12th before I scored 4 in the 13th, winning 8-4. And avoided out first 3 game losing streak of the season!
Next up is a big series coming back home against Philly, who sits just a game back from us at 32-19.Comment

Re: MLB The Show 22 Franchise Discussion Thread
The Braves open the home-stand off with a 3 game sweep of the Brewers.
It was a great pitching series. No blowouts!
We won 5-2 in the 1st game, with it being a 5-run outburst in the 5th vs. SP Lauer(5.0IP,7H,5R,5ER,0BB & 2K). Braves Ian Anderson goes 7 strong inn, giving 5 hits and striking out 7. Record moves to (5-2) on the year. 1B Olson with another HR(13),3RBI.
Game 2; We were shutout through 6 inn by SP Houser(6.0IP,6H,3R,3ER,1BB & 2K). His offense gave him a 2-run lead in the 6th. We had a 3-run outburst in bttm 7th. Braves Morton continues to bounce back! (6.0IP,4H,2R,2ER,2BB & 9K) no decision, but we like the progress. Dropping ERA down 5.10. We won 3-2!
Game 3: Burnes(5.0IP,6H,3R,3ER,2BB & 2K) vs. Ky.Wright(6.0IP,3H,1R,1ER,1BB & 3K) improves to (W, 5-1).
Brewers take an early 1-0, a solo shot by RF Renfroe. Once again we come back with a 3-run inn, capped off by 2RHR by Rosario! We won 3-1!
It seems we are developing the comeback gene. I get down and expects to lose. But we are pulling out victories! We are 24-11, 1st place in the east by 5.0 games over the Mets. Red Sox are next! Sale (2-3,4.25ERA) vs. Fried (4-0, 2.63ERA) game 1. Game 2 Soroka (4-1, 3.35ERA) vs. Eovaldi (3-3, 3.86ERA).

BOX SCORE
Eric Haase broke a 2-2 tie in the bottom of the 8th inning with a pinch hit solo home run off Mets reliever Joey Lucchesi, propelling the Detroit TIgers to a 3-2 win in game 1 of the 2022 World Series.
The Tigers and Mets combined for just 4 hits each, as Max Scherzer and Casey Mize dueled each other. Scherzer lasted 7 innings, allowing just 2 runs on 3 hits, with 3 strikeouts. Mize meanwhile went 8, allowing just 2 runs on 4 hits, striking out 7, earning the win. Gregory Soto pitched a perfect 9th inning for his 5th save of the post season.
Kyle Dutcher opened the scoring with a leadoff home run to left in the bottom of the first. The Mets scored twice in the top of the 5th, on an RBI double by Mark Canha, and a sac fly by J.D. Davis. But the Tigers tied it up at 2 in the bottom of the 5th on an Austin Meadows home run to right.
Neither team could muster anything for the next two innings. Joey Lucchesi replaced Scherzer to start the bottom of the 8th. Eric Haase who destroyed left handed pitching during the regular season, pinch hit for Meadows. Haase hit a bal to left that just carried over the fence, for a 3-2 Tiger lead. The Mets went 1-2-3 in the 9th.
The win is the Tigers first World Series win since Game 2 of the 2006 World Series. The Tigers did play in the World Series in 2012, but were swept by the San Francisco Giants.
Game 2 will be Friday Night at Comerica Park. Tarik Skubal pitches for the Tigers. Jacob deGrom will pitch for the Mets. Neither have lost yet this post season. Game time is 7:05PMComment

Re: MLB The Show 22 Franchise Discussion Thread
I will be going back and playing my franchise from '21 as I'm shelving '22 for issues I've posted in the forum.
With that said, I'm in August of 2023. Currently trail the Reds by 1 game in the NL Central. I'm in the 3rd game of a 4 game series with the Pirates in Pittsburgh.
Current Lineup:
CF - Harrison Bader
2B - Tommy Edman
1B - Paul Goldschmidt
3B - Nolan Arenado
SS - Paul DeJong
LF - Tyler O'Neill
RF - Dylan Carlson
C - Victor Caratini
Pitcher Spot
Bench
C - Yadier Molina
IF - Edmundo Sosa
IF - Yairo Munoz
OF - Justin Toerner
OF - Justin Williams
Rotation
Jack Flaherty
Kwang Hyun Kim
Carlos Martinez
Jake Odorizzi
Matthew Boyd (just acquired at trade deadline)
Bullpen
Junior Fernandez
Tyler Webb
Genesis Cabrera
Alex Reyes
Giovanny Gallegos
Daniel Norris
Roberto Osuna
Kirby Yates
Gotta say, I've missed some of the presentation pieces in franchise that are shown in '21 and not '22. Also, missed the MLB Network theme.
Thanks for anyone who read this that cares and will follow along with this franchiseI can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.
I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

Cardinals drop series to Pirates in Pittsburgh
The Cardinals (57-47) dropped 3 games of a 4 game series against the Pirates in the Pittsburgh to begin the week. The Cardinals are now 2 games back of the Reds in NL Central and trail the Braves by 2.5 for the 2nd wildcard spot.
The Cardinals lost the first 3 games of the series as their pitching was absolutely terrible. The Cardinals lost in extra innings on Monday as Roberto Osuna blew yet another game this year (5 thus far) in an 8-7 loss. On Tuesday the Cardinals were blanked offensively as Jordan Holloway shut them down in a 4-0 loss. Wednesday again, the offense put up 7 runs but the pitching couldn't keep the Pirates from getting hits and putting up runs, in a 9-7 loss. Thursday, finally the Cards won with Jake Odorizzi earning his 12th win of the year in a 2-1 victory.
Next up for the Cardinals is a 3 game weekend series with the Braves in Atlanta.
Cardinals place Nolan Arenado on the 10 Day IL
The Cardinals have placed 3B Nolan Arenado on the 10 Day IL with a knee sprain. Arenado was injured running to first during Monday night's game. He's not expected to miss any more than 2 weeks with the injury. Nolan Gorman was activated from the IL to replace Arenado on the roster.I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

20 games to go in the 2022 season. Toronto is 0.5 games behind Tampa for the AL East lead. The two teams have 7 head-to-head games remaining on the schedule, so a lot can change.
Blue Jays are 3 games ahead of the Yankees for the 1st wild card, and Seattle is 1.5 games back of NY for the 2nd WC spot; they are also 1.5 games back of the Angels in the AL West.Currently Playing:
