Judge Decides to Stay in Pinstripes, Rangers Welcome Home a Familiar Face

Texas had a rough start to the offseason. They let Kole Kalhoun walk and lost Martin Perez to The Cubs in free agency as Texas offered 2 years 12 million but Perez decided Chicago was the right move after a breakout 2nd half to the season (8-4, 4.78 ERA, 120 K's). Things quickly got better as Texas, much like last season shelled out more cash bringing in what they hope to be the ace of the staff in James Paxton at 2 yrs, 11 mil. They then signed Jake Cave, 3yr, 6mil and shored up the pen with Ross Stripling at 1 yr for 1.5 mil. The biggest move though was welcoming home Joey Gallo after a year in New York to a 3 year deal at a reported 47 million dollars. The Yankees took themselves out of the running when they signed Max Muncy to a 3 year, 38 million dollar deal and then immediately locked up Aaron judge to a 10 year 260 million dollar deal.
    - Taylor Rogers-PHI 4/61.6 mil
    - Wilson Contreras DET 2/12.4 mil
    - Sean Manaea DET 4/48 mil
    - Josh Bell PIT 4/24 mil

Cardinals take series against Reds in St.Louis

The Cardinals (22-12) took 2 games of a 3 game series with the Reds at Busch Stadium in St.Louis. The Cardinals now lead the Pirates by 1.5 games in the NL Central.

The Cardinals won the series opener on Friday night as Luis Castillo faced his old team but received a no decision leaving after 6 innings in a game the Cards trailed 3-1. The offense exploded in the 8th inning with 5 runs to win the game 6-3.

The Reds won Saturday afternoon with Miles Mikolas taking the loss as he gave up 5 runs on 9 hits in just 5.1 innings. The offense didn't have much punch as the Cards fell 7-1.

Sunday was a marathon. The game was scoreless thru 15 innings and remained that way in the bottom of hte 16th when Ivan Herrera singled home Anderson Tejeda for the 1-0 walkoff win.

The Cardinals will stay home and welcome the Cubs to town for a 3 game series starting Monday night.

        2022 Arizona Diamondbacks 09/23-09/25

Overall Record:98-59 (1st NL West 6.5 over LA Dodgers)

D-Backs take series over Giants, clinch NL West

The Arizona Diamondbacks have clinched the NL West! Arizona enters the final five games of the regular season, already clinching the division as their current lead over the second place Dodgers is six and a half games.

There is also a good chance that Los Angeles and San Diego will face off in the Wild Card game, the biggest question is who will host the game. LA currently sits at 91-65 with San Diego sitting at 89-67. The Phillies do have a chance to take the second wildcard spot away from San Diego but need to win out while hoping San Diego doesn't win another game. San Diego does have the tougher test with their remaining games against the Dodgers and White Sox while Philadelphia will need to get past the Cubs and Nationals.

In the most recent series for Arizona, the D-Backs took game one on a bottom of the 9th walk off single by Pavin Smith. Game two was a gem by Zac Gallen as he tries to push for a Cy Young award despite missing a few weeks with injury. That game ended in a 12-2 victory. Game two saw Darin Ruf have a game for the Giants as he had an excellent defensive play in right field, bobbling a ball then catching it to rob Ketel Marte and his solo HR was the deciding run in the low scoring, 2-1 victory.

Arizona will close out the season with two against Houston and a final three game series against the same Giants team. Arizona will look to surpass the 100 win threshold but dont have a lot to play for as they have also already clenched the number one seed in the NL as the Brewers are the second best NL team with 93 wins.

All good things comes to an end! Our winning streak stopped by the Metropolitans at 11!

As expecting with this 3-game series clutch pitching would be on display.

Game 3: The winning streak halted! Soroka vs. deGrom. Mr. deGrom was masterful, 4SFB at 98-101mph. (7.0IP,7H,2R,2ER,0BB & 8K)WP. What would you guys pay Matt Duffy? Started the year as a part timer, got more playing time, spent a couple months on the IL, came back as a full time starter. 900 OPS in 74 games…. And World Series MVP as the angels won it all

Cardinals take series against Cubs in St.Louis

The Cardinals (24-13) won 2 games of a 3 game series against the Cubs to begin the week in St.Louis. The Cardinals now lead the NL Central by 3 games over the Pirates and Brewers.

The Cardinals dropped the first game of the 3 game series but quickly bounced back to win both Tuesday and Wednesday to take the series.

The Cardinals will now travel to Cincinnati for a 4 game weekend series with the Reds.

                Cardinals outright RHP Nick Wittgren

The Cardinals have outrighted RHP Nick Wittgren. Wittgren was re-signed in the offseason to help deepen the bullpen staff but he missed the opening day roster and was horrendous in Memphis with a 0-4 record with 7.97 ERA and WHIP of 2.50.

The Cardinals don't expect him to be claimed so they will have a decision to make once he clears waivers.

Mets FINALLY are able to welcome back Pete Alonso

The allstar 1B finally will make his return starting game two of the four game set vs Miami. After missing a whopping 60 games we are ready for a boost in offense. We get hits, but struggle to score runs because we lack power in the lineup. Alonso hopefully can bring that to the lineup so we can put up some more runs to go along with the best pitching staff and probably bullpen in the majors.

Cardinals split series with Reds in Cincinnati

The Cardinals (26-15) split their 4 game series with the Reds in Cincinnati over the weekend. The Cardinals still lead the NL Central by 3 games over the Brewers and Pirates.

The Cardinals bats were fairly non-existent in the series, but thankfully pitching was on as the Cardinals only scored 9 runs in the 4 game series, but still came away with a split. Adam Duvall broke out of his slump recording multiple hits in each of the 4 games including 3 homeruns. Tommy Edman continues to be a concern going hitless in all 4 games with 10 strikeouts.

The Cardinals will be off on Monday as they travel to Minnesota for a brief 2 game series with the Twins at Target Field.

Nolan Arenado recorded his 1500th career hit on Saturday with a RBI double in the 3rd inning. Arenado is hitting .267 with 6 homeruns and 20 RBIs this year. Congratulations to Arenado on his 1500th hit.

                        Boston Promotes Top Prospect

(Photo Credit: Triston Casas @mvptc37 / Twitter)

The first place Red Sox are currently tied for the best record in baseball at 35-19 with the Dodgers, but it hasn't been easy, especially lately. While they're winning games, the offense has been anything but consistent, and the biggest culprits have been at first and second base. Obviously Trevor Story isn't going anywhere, given his massive contract, but Bobby Dalbec, who at one point led the team in both home runs and walks, has fallen on hard times. Dalbec currently sports a .231/.331/.476 batting line with seven home runs, but only 16 runs batted in. While that's not considered terrible by todays standards, it is when it comes to the Red Sox front office and fan base.

To hopefully give the lineup a much needed boost, and Red Sox Nation some excitement, the Red Sox have called up top prospect Triston Casas. Casas, 22, has batted .254/.368/.416 with six home runs and 24 runs batted in 46 games. The Red Sox have already publicly stated that they're not afraid to fast-track their top prospects, and it shows with the fact that Casas is on his way to the majors with really just two full minor league seasons under his belt. Other top prospects such as Marcelo Mayer, Nick Yorke and Blaze Jordan have all made their Double-A debuts, with Mayer and Jordan taking to it very well.

Casas will make his debut on Tuesday as the Red Sox welcome in Jonathan India and the last place Cincinnati Reds.

24-11 with the cubs. After restarting again my excuse this time was because Cano was added. Wonder what the next excuse will be.( I have commitment issues when it comes to the show) But anyways Seiya got off to a hot start but went in an 0-24 slump which pummeled his BA. But has 7 homers and 19 rbi. Contreras has 7 homer 18 rbi. Nico is hitting .331.

Jason Heyward, Christopher Morel are on the 60 day DL. Patrick Wisdom, Alfonso Rivas are out for a month. Ortega is on the IL as well but returns in 4 days.

What helps me not restart is updating attributes every live roster update. It's nice to have Starling Marte a huge contact boost for me, along with others. Keeps my season feeling fresh throughout the season. I don't have Cano in mine but figure he would retire after year one anyway so nothing lost for me.
