I don't know about that, the team is loaded with top prospects I would be excited about their future. Maybe Arenado makes them a contender !

I'm curious how it will play out. Arenado is under contract thru 2025 with a team option for 2026. Gallen is controllable thru 2025 (final arbitration year) and then will be a free agent.

The free agent market for pitchers this upcoming offseason could be loaded with the likes of Shane Bieber, Max Fried, Ian Anderson, and others I honestly forget who they are, so the D'Backs could essentially acquire a "replacement" for Gallen, while having Arenado and then add a few more pieces for next year.
I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

If that happened that would make the trade totally worth it for both sides. 30 team control would totally make that happen for them, not sure if you do that or not. Ariz doesn't really have a lot of pitching depth but they do have a lot of position player prospects if I remember correctly and they have Marte locked up at 2B for awhile, so it could work.

          I don't do 30 team control

The D'Backs have decent pitching depth as they drafted well the past two drafts. They have 3 starters who are rated over 60, with A/B potential and are 20 years old or younger.

If they can land a top rotation arm in the winter and maybe another mid rotation arm, they could have a chance at contending next season. But man, in my franchise, the Padres and Dodgers are loaded.

The first power rankings of the regular season are out. We will be doing these once a month around mid-month through the end of the regular season.

            1. Flagstaff Hops (29-11): easily the best team in the league through the first seven weeks of play. They are tied for best batting average (.284), most runs, second in home runs and fourth in ERA. This is a team that is well balanced both offensively and on the mound. This team should cruise into the playoffs unless injuries pop up.

            2. Chandler Chiefs (27-14): maybe the surprise of 2023 is the Chiefs. This team is (19-3) in their last 22 games to take over first place in arguably the best division in the IBL. Stanton Brickman is putting up MVP numbers, hitting .308 with 14 home runs and 45 RBIs getting a chance to play everyday after getting only spot duty last year in Amarillo.

            3. Mesa Solar Sox (25-16): pitching is carrying the Solar Sox this far in 2023 and it is very good. Luke Palmer is (6-0) with an ERA of 2.50 and WHIP of 1.23 in 50.1 innings of work with 46 strikeouts. John Nichols is hitting .304 with 10 homers, 27 RBIs and seven stolen bases to lead the offense.

            4. Gilbert Barnstormers (23-17): Once again the Barnstormers have a great team led by Steve Heupel who is hitting .338 with 11 homers and 28 RBIs. Pitching is strong with a team ERA in the top 5 led by Gilberto Medrano who is (5-1) with and ERA of 3.09 in 46.2 innings of work. Closer Geronimo Ortega has 15 saves in 15 opportunities and has not allowed a run.

            5. Henderson Silver Knights (23-17): Maybe the most talented team in the IBL, the Silver Knights lead the DL West and are lead by 19-year-old superstar Sean Pressley. He is hitting .421 with 11 home runs and 34 RBIs. Veteran first baseman Albert Zambrano is putting up big numbers too hitting .311 with nine homers sand 30 RBIs. The pitching hasn’t been great and maybe that is what will hold this team back.

            6. El Paso Blue Rocks (24-17): this team is once again built on defense and speed. They lead the league in stolen bases again by a wide margin and are lead by Brandon Gayle who is hitting .327 with an OBP of .417 with 20 stolen bases. Mark Donnellon is (5-0) with an ERA of 3.44 and WHIP of 1.07 in 55.0 innings of work.

            7. St. George Archers (21-19): an interesting team with really doesn’t have any stars but is lead by 27-year-old first baseman Jamaal McCormack. He is hitting .297 with 11 homers and 29 RBIs. They are solid sitting in third place and two games over .500 with a +21 run differential in a very competitive ML West.

            8. Salt Lake Chukars (22-19): The Chukars have had a nice start to the season, currently sitting in second in the ML West. Pitching hasn’t been great and they are middle of the road offensively, but they have a solid defense. They have six players with at least seven home runs. Johnnie Mesa (5-2, 1 SV) has been a stud out of the bullpen with 58.2 innings of work in 23 appearances with an ERA of 1.53 and WHIP of 1.04.

            9. Austin Fire Frogs (24-17): The Fire Frogs lead the ML East with a decent offense and pitching staff that is middle of the road. They are the top defensive team in the IBL. Luke Jordan has 14 home runs and 31 RBIs to lead the offense.

            10. Glendale Desert Dogs (22-20): Injuries are the story for this club. They have five starters on the Injured List, yet sit in second in the DL Central, just a 1/2 game back of Surprise. Their biggest loss is outfielder Clinton Lake who hit 28 home runs and drove in 66 last year. Shortstop Manuel Hernandez has picked up the slack, hitting .314 with nine home runs and 22 RBIs. The Desert Dogs also have the best pitching metrics in the IBL, led by Will Nixon (5-0, 2.55 ERA).

            11. Surprise Saguaros (22-19): The defending Desert League Champions are off to a slow start, but still sit in first place in the DL Central. The Saguaro’s pitching is carrying them, led by starter Dan Reyna who is (6-0) with an ERA of 1.82 and WHIP of 1.23 with 53 K’s in 54.1 innings of work. The club also leads the IBL in home runs and is lead by DL MVP Alberto Ruiz who is hitting .302 with 18 home runs and 32 RBIs.

            12. San Diego Seals (20-21): The Seals started out (15-7) but is just (5-14) since and have slipped to second place in the DL West. They are top 10 in hitting and pitching and they have some young superstars so this team may hang around. Once again youngsters Matt Mulder (.296, 8 HR, 24 RBI) and Matt Campbell (leads IBL in strikeouts with 74) lead this group. Veteran Federico Quintana, who came over from Santa Fe is (4-1) with an ERA of 2.30 in seven starts.

            13. Tucson Roadrunners (21-20): The Roadrunners sit in fourth place in the tough DL East. They have one of the top pitching staffs in the league, but their offense is awful. They lead the league in runs allowed but are 27th in runs scored. Frank Green and newly acquired Rodney Miller provide the pop on offense. Andy Sacramento (3-4) is the staff ace with an ERA of 2.85 and WHIP of 1.20. Willie De La Cruz, who came over from Roswell this offseason, has been a stud out of the bullpen with a stingy ERA of 1.98 in 13.2 innings of work over 13 appearances.

            14. San Antonio Javelinas (20-20): The defending champions are off to a rough start, sitting in second in the ML East, 3 1/2 games back of Austin. Offense has not been the problem, pitching is a major issue. The team ranks near the bottom of the league and three starters have an ERA north of 5.00. Kosuke Matsui has been a bright spot. The left fielder is hitting .321 with 14 home runs and 37 RBIs. T.J. Hart, the MVP of the ML Championship series, is hitting .348 with 13 home runs and 39 RBIs.

            15. Rio Rancho Owlz (20-21): The Owlz sit in the middle of the ML Central at the quarter pole. The offense is pretty balanced with no one standing out. Ryne Rodriguez is making a case for ML Cy Young. He is (6-1) with an ERA os 2.09 with 66 strikeouts in 60.1 innings of work.

            16. Prescott Hotshots (20-20): The Hot Shots are one of the best offensive teams in the league but their pitching and injuries may hold them back. Currently they are missing three big pieces in CF Josh Carroll, first baseman Harwill O’Kane and second baseman Angel Rodriguez. Matt Olson is hitting .325 with 13 home runs and 23 RBIs as he tries to keep the Hot Shots above water until the injured players can return.

            17. West Texas Bison (19-22): the Bison sit in last in the ML East, but have won three straight. The have a decent offensive club and excellent defensive team. Their pitching is below average. Carlos Quiñones leads the club, hitting .299 with nine home runs and 21 RBIs.

            18. Scottsdale Scorpions (20-21): The Scorpions have made gradual improvements since early last season when they were one of the worst teams in all of the IBL. They are ranked 19th in hitting and 14th in pitching and they sit in third place in the DL Central, but only two games back of Surprise. Young first baseman Lee Lim is off to a nice start with 11 home runs and 33 RBIs

            19. Salt River Rafters (20-21): The Rafters have cooled off after a hot start and currently are in last place in the DL East. They are middle of the road both offensively and pitching. Star third baseman Antoine Garcia is out 1-2 months with a broken shin. He was hitting .409 with three homers and 11 RBIs in 12 games before the injury.

            20. Amarillo Honey Hunters (20-21): the Honey Hunters are one of the worst offenses in the IBL, scoring only 177 runs so far (4.3 runs/game). Lincoln Farrington (4-2) has been very good in 53.1 innings of work, he has an ERA of 3.69 with a WHIP of 1.4 and 59 strikeouts. No positional starter is hitting over .270.

            21. Santa Fe Silver Bullets (20-21): Arguably the worst pitching staff in the Mountain League, the Silver Bullets are hoping that their offense can keep them in the playoff hunt. They are second in runs scored and second worst in runs allowed. Corey Barton has 14 home runs and 34 RBIs to lead the team.

            22. Yuma Dust Devils (19-23): The Dust Devils were the worst team in the IBL in 2022 and the only team to lose 100 games. They appear to be much better in 2023 thanks to a pitching staff rated in the top 10. Charles Mota (4-2, 2.82 ERA) and Douglas Moss (5-2, 3.16 ERA) are anchoring the staff. Cory Law leads the offense with eight home runs and 22 RBIs while hitting .321.

            23. Phoenix Firebirds (17-24): another playoff team from 2022 that has struggled in 2023. The Firebirds have started to play better after a very rough start. Their pitching staff is the clubs strength. Frank Reyna, the ace of the staff, is (3-2) with an ERA of 2.25 and WHIP of 0.95 in 64.0 innings of work with 57 strikeouts.

            24. Colorado Springs Snow Sox (16-25): The Snow Sox won the ML West in 2022 and are in last place through 40 games in 2023. They are in the bottom ten both in pitching and hitting. Juan Primo (12 HR, 21 RBIs) and Juan Caceras (10 HR, 24 RBI) are the only real bright spots.

            25. Albuquerque Mariachis (16-24): A big market team with resources of the Mariachis should be able to make a few moves to get this team back in the race. They are bottom ten in hitting and pitching. Youngster John Stirewalt has shown promise after a decent rookie campaign. He is (5-3) with an ERA of 4.46 and WHIP of 1.49 with 29 strikeouts in 43.1 innings of work. Thomas Estrada is hitting .287 with nine home runs and 23 RBIs to lead the offense.

            26. Las Vegas Nuggets (19-23): another playoff team from 2022 that is struggling to start the 2023 season. Bottom ten in pitching and hitting….Junior Lima has been the lone bright spot this season. He had a 29 game hitting streak and is hitting .335 with 11 home runs and 33 RBIs. Ricky Salinas is (4-1) with an ERA of 2.15 and WHIP of 1.31 but the rest of the staff has been awful aside from Stanley Taguchi (4-3, 3.46).

            27. Long Beach Surf Dawgs (15-26): Long Beach doesn’t look anything like the dominant team that they were in 2022. Steve Willis is off to a rough start (1-5, 5.65). Luckily Chuck Sanchez (6-1, 2.47) has been good or this team could be even lower. Richard Gates is on the injured list with a broken arm after hitting 25 homers and driving in 72 last year.

            28. Fort Worth Kings (19-22): the best team for stretches last year, this team has been awful in 2023. They are bottom five in both hitting and pitching and sit in fourth place in the ML East. Randy Klaus (.272, 11 HR), who was the Mountain League MVP last season, is the only guy hitting the ball for the Kings. This is another team that could make some moves to bolster their lineup. Steve Hubbard, who came over from Flagstaff last season, is (1-5, 7.39) after finishing last year (2-11, 5.03).

            29. Roswell Aliens (15-24): if this sounds like a broken record…..another playoff team from 2022 is struggling in 2023. The Aliens are last in hitting and 27th in pitching. They lost ace David Lee in free agency to Gilbert and they have not filled that hole. DeSean Gardner is (2-3, 3.43) and everyone else has been a disaster. Blake Pacinelli was in the MVP conversation last year but is hitting just .206 with eight home runs. This team is thankful that Goodyear is in the league or they would be the worst team.

            30. Goodyear Jack Rabbits (13-26): The Jack Rabbits are terrible. The pitching is atrocious with a team ERA of 6.20. They have only scored 169 runs with a run differential of -75. Catcher Emilio Montalvo is the lone bright spot, hitting .322 with 11 home runs and 21 RBIs. The rest of the team……woof.

              2023 Arizona Diamondbacks 07/27-07/30

Overall Record:72-35 (1st NL West, 7.0 over LA Dodgers)

Crisis averted, D-Backs back into the (series) win column

The Arizona Diamondbacks are still on one of their worst 10 game stretches of the year as they have gone 4-6 in their last 10 contests. However, they were able to win three of four to take their latest series against the Colorado Rockies.

Arizona lost game one of the four game series by a score of 11-4 that loss was their third in a row and their sixth in their previous seven games. Arizona was able to bounce back in that Rockies series as they won the next three games relatively easy, 4-0, 7-2 and 5-0.

Arizona will now look to end July and start August strong with a big four game set with the second place Los Angeles Dodgers

I honestly love it for the D'Backs, as long as the regression-o-meter doesn't slice Arenado apart too quickly.

                    Blue Jays Franchise: 2023

                    April Roundup:

                    Record: 20-8
                    Top Batter-Matt Chapman: .381/.458/.746, 5 HR, 14 RBI
                    Top Pitcher-Kevin Gausman: 4-0, 34.0 IP, 13 BB, 35 K, 2.91 ERA, 1.24 WHIP
                    Most Disappointing Batter-Brandon Belt: .173/.317/.269, 0 HR, 0 RBI
                    Most Disappointng Pitcher-Mitch White: 2-2, 24.1 IP, 14 BB, 18 K, 4.07 ERA, 1.73 WHIP
                    Biggest Surprise-Cavan Biggio: .381/.458/.746, 5 HR, 14 RBI

                    Thoughts:
Cavan Biggio was certainly in consideration for top batter of the month, but he didn't play much during the first couple of weeks of the season, so Chapman gets the honors so far, due to his outstanding defence at 3rd as well.

Offensively, the team has been paced by Biggio and Chapman, with Vlad Guerrero Jr. starting the month hot, but having a massive cold streak in the middle of it. Bo Bichette continues to frustrate at short, hitting very well, but playing some pretty poor defence out there. The catching combo of Alejandro Kirk and Danny Jansen were supposed to be a strength offensively, but both been pretty mediocre with the bat in their hands so far. The craziest thing so far for us offensively? Brandon Belt's lack of production. No power, very few hits, and he has yet to pick up an RBI in a Jays uniform, despite the fact that he has regularly hit in the middle of the lineup. Have to think he bounces back, but the leash is starting to get a lot shorter as the season goes on.

The rotation has been very solid, with Gausman, Manoah and Berrios all sporting ERA's until 3. Offseason signing Chris Bassitt had a slow start, and saw his ERA balloon early, but has been solid in his last 2 starts, and has lowered the ERA to 4.32. Mitch White, who won the 5 rotation spot in the spring, has been extremely frustrating. His ERA is currently 4.07, but his WHIP suggests that he's been more lucky than good, with a 1.71 WHIP, while walking 14 and striking out only 16 in 24.1 IP so far.

Big Injury: George Spring broke his hand in the final game of the month, and will miss 1-2 months.

Around the Majors: The Dodgers currently pace MLB with a 21-6 record, with the Jays sitting comfortably in 2nd. The Cards, Phillies, Astros and Guardians all lead their respective divisions, with the leads in the AL Central, West, and NL East all being by only 0.5 games.

When it comes to teams that have scuffled out of the gate and could be early sellers, The A's (3-25), Nationals (11-17), Reds & Cubs (8-19), as well as the Rockies (10-17) and Diamondbacks (9-19) have all see their seasons start off on the wrong foot. It's obviously still early, but among those teams only the Cubs and D'Backs were expected to make a push forward this year.

The most surprising team in baseball so far? The 16-11 Miami Marlins.

                    Players of the Month:
                    AL:
                    Pitcher-Liam Hendriks: 12 SV, 0.71 ERA, 16 K
                    Player-Amed Rosario: .333 average, 8 HR, 24 RBI
                    Rookie-Julio Rodriguez: .333 average, 7 HR, 17 RBI (Yeah, he's a rookie again, nobody is perfect )

Cardinals take series from Milwaukee to begin 2nd half of season

The Cardinals (56-43) took 2 games of a 3 game series versus the Brewers in St.Louis to begin the 2nd half of the season.

The Cardinals won Friday night behind a stellar pitching performance from Luis Castillo and won Sunday as Dakota Hudson continues to impress. Saturday, Johan Oviedo made his 2nd start since being called up for the injured Miles Mikolas, but was roughed up lasting only 3 innings giving up 6 runs on 9 hits.

Dylan Carlson continues to swing a hot bat as he hit 3 homeruns in the series along with 2 doubles in his 7 hits. Joshua Baez impressed in his first at-bats in the big leagues this year earning 2 doubles this series, but did strikeout 4 times in 10 at-bats.

The Cardinals will remain at home as they welcome the Nationals to town for a 4 game series to begin the week.
I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

                          May 15-17: SALT LAKE (23-21) @ FLAGSTAFF (31-12)
                          Stadium: AutoZone Park (Capacity: 9,577)

                          May 15: Chukars 4, Hops 2
                          May 16: Hops 6, Chukars 0
                          May 17: Hops 2, Chukars 1

Flagstaff, AZ (AP) - The Flagstaff Hops won another series but this was a tight one against division rival Salt Lake with the Hops losing the opener, but rallying to win the last two to end the home stand.

In the opener, the visiting Chukars hit three home runs as they defeated the Hops 4-2. Derek Hills had the big blow, a two-run home run in the sixth that gave the Chukars the lead that they would not relinquish.

Flagstaff would jump out to a 2-0 lead in this one and with Shoe-Lace O’Tying on the mound, looked to be in really good shape. Emmitt Hampton doubled hope Skyler Lyons in the first inning, and Leandro Lugo singled home Lyons in the third as the Hops grabbed the lead.

But the Chukars got one back in the fourth on Adolfo Villarreal’s solo home run to left. Derek Hills then hit a two-run bomb to left off of O’Tying in the sixth to put the Chukars in front. Sergio Pinto would add a solo home run in the top of the ninth to make it 4-2.

Flagstaff had a shot in the bottom half off of closer Emmett Franco. A Donnie Roland double with two outs in the ninth put runners on second and third. But Oscar Aleman grounded out to first to end the game. Franco picked up his 15th save.

Shoe-Lace O’Tying (4-2) took the loss, pitching seven innings and allowing three runs on nine hits. He struck out three in an outing that wasn’t his best. Milo Tanana improved to (8-1) as he went six innings and allowed two runs on five hits. The Chukars used four arms to get the final nine outs, allowing just three hits over those final three innings.

On Tuesday evening the Hops got a great pitching performance from Ryan Pressley as they shutout the Chukars 6-0. Pressley tossed seven shutout innings, allowing only three hits and striking out nine, while no allowing any walks.

The Hops broke open a scoreless game in the fifth inning as they put three up on the scoreboard. Roberto Geronimo lined a two-run double to open the scoring and Emmitt Hampton followed that up with an RBI single.

In the sixth Donnie Roland homered to left center to make it 4-0. A Roberto Geronimo sacrifice fly in the seventh would add another run, and a Donnie Roland RBI double in the eighth made it 6-0.

Donnie Roland, Roberto Geronimo, Art Mason and Skyler Lyons each had two hits in the 12 hit attack. The Chukars managed just four hits in the game.

The win moved Pressley’s record to (5-1). Pedro Macias and Samuel Espinoza each worked a scoreless inning in relief.

The finale featured another great pitching performance. This time it was Juro Yamaguchi who tossed seven shutout innings, allowing five hits and striking out six, while walking three in a 2-1 victory.

The Hops would score both of their runs in the third inning. Oscar Aleman drove home a run with an infield single to put the Hops on the board. Josh Ortega then grounded out (4-3) that allowed Arturo Mardones to score as the Hops went up 2-0.

The Chukars would get their lone run on a solo home run from Derek Mills in the eighth off of reliever Pedro Macias. It was his eighth home run on the season.

Vic Miller came on and worked a 1-2-3 ninth to record his 15th save.

The Hops (31-12) will now have tomorrow off before they hit the road from their longest road trip of the season, a ten gamer, as they head to Fort Worth, Austin and Salt Lake City.

Around the League: Henderson pounded out 21 hits in a 16-0 walk over of Yuma on Monday evening. Alfonso Pacheco went 2 for 5 with two home runs and three RBIs for the Silver Knights. Nino Soriano (5-2) tossed a complete game, four-hitter, striking out four and walking one. Rollie Flingers tossed a complete game, six-hit shutout, striking out eight, as Rio Rancho edged Roswell 2-0.

Armando Bermudez (4-3) tossed a complete game, two-hitter, striking out two as Gilbert defeated Long Beach 9-0.

Stanton Brickman and the Chandler Chiefs remain white-hot as Brickman homered and drove in two as the Chiefs defeated the Tucson Roadrunners 8-1.

The Nationals took one of three in Atlanta. They won the first game easily, 7-2. Most of the damage would come off Jake Odorizzi, who went 1.2 innings giving up 6 runs on 6 hits, with two walks and two strikeouts. The Nationals would then be blown out in the other two games, 7-3 and 10-4. Game two saw Spencer Strider completely dominate the Nationals. He went 8 innings, giving up a run, one hit, three walks and 10Ks. Mackenzie Gore struggled mightily, he would grind out 4.2 innings, give up 7 runs on 10 hits, with a walk and 5 strikeouts. The third game would start out nicely for the Nationals, who would have a 2-0 lead going into the bottom of the fourth. Then Joe Ross fell apart, giving up 6 in that inning alone. Huascar Ynoa would settle in and end up going 6.2 innings with 7Ks and no walks, and the Braves would add four more runs late for the one-sided victory.

Non-Nationals related notes in this series: the Braves brought Max Fried out of the bullpen in games 1 and 3, for reasons I can't figure out. I'm just going to chalk it up as a post-season strategy, as they will either be a wild card team or division winner. Austin Riley would hit three home runs in the series and leads the majors with 108 RBIs.

The Nationals will now go to Miami for three games, before finishing up the season at home against the Braves and Phillies.

I'm hoping to get to the offseason by the end of the weekend (my "weekend" is really Sunday and Monday), but we'll see. These last few series have been a grind.

Arlington, TX (AP) - Flagstaff started off their longest road trip of the year by taking two fo three from the Fort Worth Kings in Arlington. After dropping the opener, the Hops shut out the Kings over the weekend to win the series.

The Hops dropped the opener 5-3 thanks to two home runs from the Kings’ Randy Klaus. Old friend Steve Hubbard picked up the win for Fort Worth, tossing 5.1 innings and allowing three runs on seven hits.

Art Mason led off the game with a solo home run to right.

Randy Klaus responded with a two-run shot in the bottom half to put the Kings in front 2-1. Mason would homer again in the third. The solo shot was his 13th on the year and it tied the game at 2-2.

But the Kings would put two more up on the board in the fourth. A Graham RBI single to left score Tim Ferreira and a P.J. Woodson groundout scored Chris Carlisle to put the King sup 4-2.

An RBI double from Emmitt Hampton would cut the lead to 4-3 in the sixth.

Randy Klaus would hit his second home run of the game, a solo shot, in the eighth to put the Kings back up by two.

Gregg Fierro came on and sent the Hops down in order in the ninth to nail down his 11th save.

On Saturday afternoon, the Hops dominated the Kings 9-0, in front of a sellout crowd at Globe Life Park. Robbie Westbrook hit two home runs and drove in three to lead the offense.

An RBI single from Phillip Choi got the Hops going in the second inning. They would then explode for five in the fourth, chasing starter Gabriel Carmona. Robbie Westbrook hit a two-run home run to center. Phillip Choi added a two-run double to center, and Roberto Geronimo hit a sacrifice fly to make it 6-0. Arturo Mardones would homer in the sixth and Westbrook hit his second of the game in the seventh. Emmitt Hampton would add an RBI single in the ninth to make it 9-0.

Alex Farmer (4-0) pitched seven shutout innings, allowing three hits and striking out five.
Samuel Espinoza and Angelo Chacin each tossed shutout innings in relief.

Josh Ortega was the only positional player not to record a hit for the Hops as they knocked out 14 hits in the game.

On Sunday afternoon, Shoe-Lace O’Tying tossed 8.1 innings of shutout baseball, allowing three hits and striking out eight as the Hops won 5-0 to win the series.

Flagstaff took a 1-0 lead in the second on a Forrest Owen infield single that deflected off of the pitched Alex Peña.

It would remain that way all the way into the seventh when Art Mason lined a base loaded single to right that scored Donnie Roland to make it 2-0. The Hops would then add three in the top of the ninth. Skyler Lyons grounded a single back up the middle to score Art Mason and Emmitt Hampton hit a two-run homer.

Shoe-Lace O’Tying (4-2) was looking to go the distance but a one out walk in the ninth spelled the end of his day. Also Osuna came on to get the final two outs and secure the victory.

Donnie Roland went 4 for 4, scoring two runs and extending his hitting streak to 16 games. He is hitting .473 on the year. He doesn’t have enough at-bats to qualify as a league leader. Art Mason leads the Mountain League with a .416 average.
