Re: MLB The Show 22 Franchise Discussion Thread

I did an expansion draft franchise. I gutted the entire Orioles organization rebranded them. Then used a projected expansion draft list from some website. Drafted 1 player from each team. Then signed free agents to fill in the farm system. Nobody I drafted or signed can make over 8m a year. I also limited myself to only one 80ovr position player and one 80ovr pitcher.

I let the cpu sign whoever was released from the Orioles in free agency and most of them are back on a team 2 weeks into the season.

Been getting absolutely destroyed and it doesn't look good any time soon being in the AL East who is absolutely filthy in the game.

My Rule 5 Draft is complete.

Here how the Roster Shakes out. Spring training is starting. Now these guys will not be guaranteed a contract. Although they were selected in the Rule 5 draft, if they don’t make it out of Camp, they’ll be assigned back to their old Team.

            * - Projected Starter

            SP
            Kohei Arihara* 75ovr
            Alex Young* 72ovr
            Jake Kalish* 69ovr
            Kyle Cody* 68ovr
            Ryan Jensen* 68ovr
            JC Ramirez 67ovr

            RP
            Wander Suero 74ovr
            Chris Devenski 73ovr
            Deolis Guerra 71ovr
            Jace Fry 70ovr
            Seth Elledge 68ovr
            Hunter Brown 63ovr

            CP
            Jonathon Holder 72ovr

            C
            John Hicks* 73ovr
            Caleb Hamilton 69ovr

            1B
            Jake Bauers 66ovr
            Niko Kavada 66ovr

            2B
            Irving Lopez 70ovr
            Isan Diaz* 69ovr

            3B
            Josh Fuentes* 74ovr
            Brandon Howlett 65ovr

            SS
            Scott Kingery* 69ovr

            LF
            Franchy Cordero* 70ovr
            Carlos Rincon 67ovr

            CF
            Monte Harrison* 68ovr
            Peyton Burdick 68ovr

            RF
            Johan Mieses* 69ovr

Like I said, everyone is fighting for a roster spot… including guys we didn’t have to release from the previous year because they were not on the active 25… some very good options that might find themselves on the opening day roster include…

            1B Michael Toglia 74ovr
            RF Casey Golden 73ovr
            SP Ryan Rolison 71ovr
            C Willie McIver 70ovr
            RP Michael Baird 69ovr

I’ll announce the opening day rosters when the dust settles and we have 26 guys “suited” for a major league roster.

I present to you…… my rule 5 Draft opening day roster… we’ll need to be lucky to do well this year. My plan is to play where I feel like it. No specific schedule of how often I’ll play/sim.

I’ll be looking forward to posting results!!

Has anyone done a fantasy draft? I’m seeing an issue where I only have 22 players on the top prospect list bc they are all sitting in free agency for some reason.

Mariners lose LF Jesse Winker for 1-6 days.

☆☆The eventual Allstar played game one of the Rangers series but after the game was noticeably injured with a thigh contusion. He will miss the rest of the series vs Texas and could possibly miss the entire series in Kansas City. A big blow to a struggling Mariners team, who after falling in game one to Texas have now lost 6 straight and 7 of their last 10.☆☆

                                2022 Arizona Diamondbacks 05/09-05/11

                                Overall Record:26-12 (1st NL West)

Diamondbacks take series Vs. Marlins 2-1

It looked like the D-Backs would sweep the Marlins for the second time in two weeks. Arizona won the first two games of the series with a combined score of 12-4.

Game three was a lower scoring affair and was 3-1 in favor of the Diamondbacks going into the 7th inning. Merrill Kelly had pitched a great game at that point. That great game however would come to an end in the 7th as Brian Anderson tallied his third hit of the game, a single. That single was then followed up by a Jesus Sanchez double to bring the score to 3-2. As the bottom of the lineup continued to punish Kelly for staying in a bit too long, catcher Jacob Stallings hit single to knock in Sanchez and tie the game at 3.

J.B Wendelken was brought in from the pen and was able to hold off the Marlin bats for the rest of the seventh and the eighth. The Diamondbacks were unable to get anything going and the score was still tied going into the 9th inning.

In that 9th inning, due to bullpen fatigue, Tyler Gilbert (long relief) was brought in for a high pressure situation. He did well enough at first and got two quick outs but that third out would only come after a Miguel Rojas solo HR for Miami to take the lead.

Arizona failed to score...or get a hit in the bottom of the inning and Miami was able to avoid the sweep. Arizona will finish out the homestand with a three game series Vs. the Chicago Cubs (18-18).
