7-8 with the Cubs. Lost 3 of 4 against the Rockies. Bars are ice cold. Pitching starting to struggle. Suzuki and Brennen Davis have been a bright spot. Contreras hitting .190. Hitting .220 as a team overall.

Twins Continue Hot Streak, Take 2 of 3 From Cleveland

Minnesota took game one of the series 3-1 behind a strong performance from righty Chris Paddack (4-2). Paddack went six strong allowing just three hits with six strikeouts. Byron Buxton went 3-for-4 with a two-run homerun in the sixth to give Minnesota the lead for good.

Minnesota's bats exploded in game two as the beat Cleveland 10-4 on Saturday night. Chris Archer (3-4) allowed three runs over six innings of work and Miguel Sano clubbed two homeruns and drove in five in the win. Catcher Jose Godoy raised his batting average to .378 with three more hits in the game.

Shane Bieber (5-1) went seven strong in game three, limiting the Twins to six hits and just one run as the Guardians avoided the sweep with a 4-1 win. Joe Ryan (2-4) allowed four runs in his six innings of work. Gary Sanchez had two hits in the loss.

Minnesota hopped on a plane after the game as they head to Oakland to take on the A's Monday night. Sonny Gray (1-5) is set to take on his former team, as Brent Honeywell Jr. (0-3) will toe the bump for Oakland. Dylan Bundy (3-2) and Chris Paddack (4-2) are scheduled to pitch for the Twins in games two and three for the Twins.

Re: MLB The Show 22 Franchise Discussion Thread

Through the first week in May 2022 in my Rays franchise. We were 13-14 to end April and went 4-3 the first week of May - so we're sitting at 17-17.

My biggest issue right now is lack of off days. We had 26 games in April (1 in March) and we have 13 games in the first 14 calendar days in May. Fatigue is really setting in at the moment. My last game (played this morning) against Seattle saw me sit Brandon Lowe, Wander Franco, Randy Arozarena, Kevin Kiermaier and Mike Zunino. A HUGE performance by Yarborough helped us secure the victory, but there's not really a break in sight, so while I'm hoping to gain ground and go on a win streak, I have to balance it with some load management.

I've been offered 2 trades so far this season - both of which were declined. First the Blue Jays sent an offer for Francisco Mejia and offered to send back Yusei Kikuchi. The other offer was from Philadelphia asking if we'd be interested in a Kevin Kiermaier for Zach Eflin swap.

As of now, no moves are planned. That being said, the Dodgers, Giants and Brewers have expressed interest in acquiring Kiermaier (last year of his deal, will likely trade him if we are not in the race for a playoff spot). So far, the "front office" has only done some advanced scouting of the Brewers farm system and reportedly Peter Bendix and Erik Neander have advised me that any Kiermaier deal would have to include a combo of players, but depending on the offer, Aaron Ashby and Eduardo Garcia would have to be part of a package. Bendix and Neander are still working with our scouting department to look over the Dodgers and Giants systems at the moment.

The week ahead has us finishing out our four-game set with the Mariners and then heading south to play the Angels before heading home to host Toronto.

Twins Pick Up First Sweep of the Season in Oakland

Sonny Gray (2-5) had his best start for Minnesota as the Twins defeated Oakland 3-1 on Monday night. Gray went six and one-third innings allowing just one run on four hits. Carlos Correa drove in two runs on two hits in the contest.

The Twins got another good start from Dylan Bundy (4-2) as Minnesota won again on Tuesday 3-2 over the Athletics. Bundy went six strong allowing two run on three hits, despite walking five and only striking out two. Gary Sanchez drove in two with a two-run shot in the fifth.

Minnesota's great starting pitching continued on Wednesday as Chris Paddack was solid in a 3-2 Twins' win completing the three-game sweep in Oakland. Paddack (5-2) gave up just three hits and two runs in the quality effort. Byron Buxton had two hits, including a two-run homerun in the third. Luis Arraez delivered three hits as well.

Minnesota, now 23-21, has on off-day on Thursday before heading the Kansas City for a three-game weekend series against the Royals (22-21). Chris Archer (3-4), Joe Ryan (2-4) and Sonny Gray (2-5) are the scheduled starters for Minnesota.

              2022 Arizona Diamondbacks 05/06-05/08

              Overall Record:24-11 (1st NL West)

Kris Bryant's big series gives D-Backs first series loss of the season

One of the newest faces in Colorado gave his team a big boost in a early May series against the current division leading Arizona Diamondbacks. Kris Bryant went 7 for 13 in the series with four home runs (three in game two) and seven RBI's. That second game of the series was the second straight win for Colorado after they won game one 5-3 (extra innings). Game two was Arizona's worst loss of the season as Bryant's three homers and six RBI's led to a 12-2 victory for Colorado.

The Diamondbacks were able to avoid a sweep in game three by getting to Kyle Freeland for an early five runs (3 in the 1st and 2 in the 2nd). Freeland would only last four innings while his counterpart, Zack Davies pitched seven strong for the win.

Arizona will go right into a three game series Vs. the Miami Marlins (15-20) a team they swept exactly a week ago.

Cardinals drop series to Red Sox in Boston

The Cardinals (38-34) dropped 2 games of a 3 game series with the Red Sox in Boston over the weekend. The Cardinals still maintain a 1.5 game lead over the Brewers in the NL Central.

The Red Sox just beat up the pitching staff over the 3 games but luckily the Cards were able to salvage a win Saturday by outscoring the BoSox 8-6. Chris Sale dominated the Cards on Sunday to secure the series victory taking a perfect game into the 8th, before Andrew Knizner drew a walk followed by a single by Branden Donovan.

The Cardinals will now travel to Milwaukee for a 4 game series with the 2nd place Brewers

Re: MLB The Show 22 Franchise Discussion Thread

Looks like there's some great Franchises going on right now! Been the first time in a couple weeks i've been able to get on here, so i'm trying to catch up on everything posted.

Regardless, current Franchise I have going on is with the Braves, we're 15-9, and we have Ronald Acuna scheduled to come back in about a week. Been away from the game for a few days so I can't give a complete background on whats happening. BUT-

My brain has been circulating recently and I wanted to get a rebuild franchise started. It won't be a traditional rebuild or a "realistic" rebuild. If anyone is familiar with MrHuriicane on Youtube, last year he started a "Rule 5 draft franchise" that I found unique and I wanted to piggy back or somewhat replicate it. I will be selecting a team (narrowed down the Marlins, Reds, or Rockies). In his series, he only is allowed to build his team through a Rule 5 draft - No rookie draft, no free agency signings - however, I'm going to Sim the first full year, to get to the end of the year. From there, I will be cutting the entire 26 man roster, so I can build my base roster through the Rule 5. Drafting all 26 rounds. I will choose to draft in the rookie draft and after the first year, allow myself to sign free agents, however i'm going to set myself a Player Salary budget(TBA), so I don't just go out and sign whatever Free Agents are out there. It kind of reminds me of a "death penalty dynasty" for anyone else is familiar with NCAA football dynasties.

I know some of you may think this idea is ridiculous or dumb, but I kind of like the fantasy aspect, without having a fantasy draft and disassembling the entire leage. I'm hoping to start it tonight. I will hopefully remember to update you how the first season/offseason goes!

Its not stupid at all. I only do rebuilds every year. However, if your idea makes me restart my A's rebuild I will be upset with you.

No lie, I was messing around with an A’s franchise as well. It was just to do some simming, see what the trade deadline had brought, what free agency would look like. I hope this idea gives you some ideas for the future. If you’re interested how I got to it, link is below. Huriicane is a fun franchise guy who does a lot of football and some baseball franchise videos.

Tigers(20-15) continue to struggle, now have lost 8 of last 10

The Tigers limped through their previous four gamer in Houston(14-21), as they lost the series 3-1. In the first two it was two pitching battles in which the 'Stros found themselves victorious (3-1 Loss, 4-3 Loss). In Game 3, the Tigers lone victory, it came down to the ninth, where the Tigers would score 3 in the Top, only to give up two, as Chaffin had his first struggle all year. But they would hold on for the 7-6 victory. Robbie Grossman and Jonathan Schoop were the major catalyst in this game, and really were the most valuable players of this series. Game four just got away early from Skubal, and it continued to rain down on the Bullpen as the staff gave up in total 16 hits, 3 walks, and 15 runs, with 10 Xb hits. It was just ugly. Despite hitting 3 homers in this game, the Tigers would come nowhere close, losing 15-3.

Now they have a quick turnaround, as they head home for a week, first starting off with another 4 game series against Oakland, who they are already 3-0 against this year. They will need a positive series, as they have gone almost two weeks without a series victory now.
