I play as the Rangers also. How is your season? I'm 28 under 500 with 58 games to go. Playing on Manage only Mode. Traded Alexy, Howard, Solak, Yohnny Hernandez. Put them on trade block and got some Ok offers. Ended up getting Darren ODay, Richard Bleir, Jake Cave, and Dinelson Lamet. Hoping to finish off the season and get some pitching help. Gray has been up and down as well as Dunning, Hearn is terrible, and then its just a mess after that

Nice sending Howard back to Philly. If I recall did he come from Philly to Texas?

Cardinals take 2 of 3 from Nationals in Washington

The Cardinals (59-48) took 2 games of a 3 game weekend series from the Nationals in Washington. The Cardinals now lead the NL Central Division by a game over the Brewers.

The Cardinals lost on Friday as Dakota Hudson lost his 10th game of the season after getting knocked around and then out after just 3 innings of work. Hudson allowed 7 runs on 8 hits and 3 walks in his short appearance. Its the second start in a row that Hudson was knocked out early. Cards put up 4 runs thanks to Harrison Bader grand slam, but fell 9-4.

Saturday and Sunday were better as Jack Flaherty recorded his 10th win of the season on Saturday pitching 7 innings giving up 1 run on 4 hits and striking out 7. Nolan Arenado and Tyler O'Neill would twice hit back to back homeruns in this game as the Cards won 7-2.

Adam Wainwright would win Sunday as he went 7.1 innings giving up 3 runs on 9 hits and striking out only 3. But he would get the Nats to hit into 4 double plays to get himself out of trouble. Gio Urshela was the hot bat knocking in 5 runs as the Cards won 6-4.

The Cardinals are off on Monday as they return home for a 6 game homestand beginning Tuesday night with the Cubs. They will welcome the Yankees to town this weekend.

Cardinals acquire Matthew Boyd from Giants at deadline

The Cardinals and Giants struck a deal on the final day of trades. The Cardinals will get LHP Matthew Boyd in exchange for LHP Angel Perdomo (who Cardinals claimed off waivers earlier) and 2B Nick Dunn.

Boyd is 8-7 this year in 21 starts for the Giants with an ERA of 3.97. Boyd will provide the Cardinals with a much coveted left hander in the rotation after the Cards and Steven Matz parted ways back in May. Boyd will likely take over the spot of Dakota Hudson who will likely be sent to Memphis as he continues to struggle.

The Giants are getting 27 year old Angel Perdomo in return. He was claimed off waivers from the Brewers by the Cardinals earlier this year, but never got out of AA ball. He's started one game at Springfield and won going 5 innings. He's been in the bullpen since. Nick Dunn was just recently recalled to St.Louis after being an all-star in Memphis. Dunn had one plate appearance in St.Louis where he doubled. He hit .323 in Memphis with 4 homeruns and led the team in doubles.

The Cardinals made 3 deals this trade season acquiring Boyd, Anthony Bass, and Gio Urshela. Hopefully it will lead them to October postseason baseball.

Tough loss in the @mariners final Spring Training game for the 2022 season vs the @padres. Now time to make some roster decisions and prepare for the long 162 game regular season. Playoff hopes abound in Seattle.

Mets take two of three from the Phillies. Second Franchise Coming

Game 1- Phillies 6, Mets 4 (Carrasco Looking Rough)
The early season continues to be a nightmare for Mets pitcher Carlos Carraco. He was roughed up for a second time as he lasted only 6 and 2/3 giving up 10 hits, 6 runs and has an ERA on the season of 6.39. The Phillies hit 5 solo shots off him. Harper, Schwarber, Hoskins, Herrera, and Camargo went deep.

Game 2- Mets 3, Phillies 1 (deGrom moves to 3-0)
Jacob deGrom threw 6 innings of one run ball while striking out 8. Edwin Diaz picked up his third save in three attempts. Francisco Lindor had a 3 hit game including his 4th homerun of the season and the Mets got back to even in the series.

Game 3- Mets 3, Phillies 0 (Rain Cost Scherzer a No No?)
Max Scherzer was brilliant throwing 6 no hit innings while striking out 5 before a 90 minute rain delay hit and Mets Manager Legend took him out to be safe. The Bullpen would go on to give up a hit in the 8th and the no hitter was gone. After two no decisions Scherzer would get his first win of the season to move to 1-0. Seth Lugo would get the save as Diaz needed some rest. JD Davis getting a rare start hit the key 2 run rbi single in the 5th and that is all they would need

Mets & Phillies News and Notes.
The Mets were without Travis Jankowski who was day to day with an injury. During the third game of the series Luis Guilliomre went own with a sprain ankle and he is listed as day to day as well

The Phillies played the entire series without Nick Castellanos and Didi Gregorius due to injury

The Mets are now (9-3) on the season while the Phillies fall to (6-6)

                      Around the League
Four teams currently have 9 wins. Mets, Braves, Brewers, and White Sox

Nationals, Royals and Athletics only have 4 wins.

14 Games into the season Ronald Acuna remains scorching hot. He is hitting .465, with 24 hits, 19 runs, 9 homeruns, 16 rbi, and a OBP of .533

                      Up Next
The Mets (9-3) welcome in the Arizona Diamondback 6-6 for a three game series

Also as I mentioned in an early post I always run two franchises. one with my team and one with a middle of the road team. With Ridin releasing his rosters this coming Saturday I will start the second one to run side by side. I have not finalized the team choice yet at first I thought Seattle but now leaning towards Texas.

                        March 29th roster moves

SOF Taylor Trammell to AAA Tacoma to start the season along with OF’s Steven Souza Jr. and Billy Hamilton

SP Nick Margevicius sent to Tacoma

SP Darren McCaughan sent to Tacoma

SP Matt Brash was edged out in a really tight competition and will be sent to Tacoma. With that decision the #5 spot in the rotation will go to Emerson Hancock

SP George Kirby had a rough Spring and was designated for assignment. Will probably start in AA Arkansas

RP Justice Sheffield will start the 2022 campaign in Tacoma

Catcher Brian O’ Keefe will start in Tacoma

1B Mike Ford was sent down to Tacoma

2B Dylan Moore was sent to Tacoma after struggling this Spring hitting just .167

2B Sam Haggerty will also make the move to Tacoma for developmental purposes

2B Forrest Wall will start in Tacoma

SS Donovan Walton could crack the Mariners opening day roster and will start the campaign in Tacoma

Newly signed OF’s Billy Hamilton and Steven Souza will be in Tacoma which opens the starting CF job to Julio Rodriguez. Rodriguez had a great Spring getting 56 AB’s with 4 HR’s, 12 RBI’s and a .315 average

OF Marcus Wilson will be in Arkansas

OF Kyle Lewis will start in Tacoma as well

The Devil’s finish off the month of May with a record at 26-31 6.5 GB of the first place Astros. Currently the team has been playing well with the lineup performing and pitching taking a bit of a hit .

                          Hitting Studs:

Joe Panik has returned to form batting .289 at the top of the order. While Taylor Motter has stayed consistent with a .270 average and 11 Home runs.

                          Hitting Duds:

Anderson Tejeda still hasn’t really gotten anything going yet hitting at .222 might have to make a move there soon. Jeff Mathis is hitting a cool .135.

                          Pitching Studs:

No one in the rotation has been great thus far while the pen at the back end has been superb. Butcher, Brennan, and Marshall all have Era’s under 2.50.

                          Pitching Duds:

The rotation has been rough with everyone over a 4.50 Era. Might be looking for some trades soon. Jesse Hahn has struggled with a 7.58 ERA probably will DFA soon if he doesn't turn it around.

                          Transactions: 5/4 start

Ronnie Freeman went on the 60 day with a Torn Finger Ligament. Signed a game generated catcher Nate Nolan. Claimed Tanner Rainey off waivers from the Nats. Adam Eaton was placed on the 60 day with a Broken shin. Designated Hunter Wood for assignment and promoted Richie Martin. Claimed Justin Bruhl from the dodgers. Jake Arrieta went on the 60 day with a Fractured Wrist. The devil's signed Julio Teheran to a 1yr deal. Claimed Trent Thornton off waivers from the Blue Jays.

                          Notes:

Draft coming up in the next update

                          Hitting Studs:

Taylor Motter is leading the way with 5 home runs and Jacob Wilson has the best batting average at .342 All the rest are sitting between .200 and .270 hopefully we can improve on that.

                          Hitting Duds:

Joe Panik and Anderson Tejeda are both hitting at .200 might be looking to start Wilson soon.

                          Pitching Studs:

Only Mike Foltynewicz has an ERA under 4.00 in the rotation at 3.34 and clearly leading the way. In the pen the back end has been the anchor with Butcher at 2.33 Brennan at 0.87 and Evan Marshall not allowing a run so far with 6 saves

                          Pitching Duds:

Tanner Roark and Jake Arrieta both have Earned run averages over six and Hunter Wood is over Ten. I’ll be looking to make some changes there if things don't get better

                          Transactions:

Kevin Quakenbush was placed on the Injured list for 60 days with a Broken Forearm. Promoted Sal Romano from Triple A. The devil's also signed C Taylor Davis to a 1yr desk. The Devil’s optioned Peter Maris to Triple A after they claimed Marwin Gonzalez off waivers from the Yankees.

                          Notes:

Jacob Wilson won rookie of the month

                            2022 Arizona Diamondbacks 05/30-06/01

                            overall Record:34-23 (1st NL West)

                            Has midnight struck for D-Backs?

The Arizona Diamondbacks lost their second consecutive series after dropping two of three against the Atlanta Braves. Now certainly, the last week of May saw Arizona facing a tough schedule (4 Vs LA Dodgers, 3 Vs ATL Braves) but through April and May, those were certainly series that Arizona could have won.

After a four game sweep by the Dodgers and losing two out of three to Atlanta, that same Dodgers team is just 1.5 games behind Arizona in the early race for the NL West.

The first game of the Braves series was Arizona's only win as Zach Davies out pitched Huascar Ynoa as the D-Backs got the 2-0 shutout victory.

Game two was a slaughter as Atlanta won 8-1 with an overall team effort.

Game three was trending toward the same type of blowout but a four run ninth saw Arizona make the end result respectable but Atlanta was able to hold out for the 7-5 victory.

The Diamondbacks will look to get back on the right foot with a three game road series against the Pittsburgh Pirates (18-38).

I’m 45-16 lol. It’s a bit misleading as the first month or so I was trying to get some trophies and was playing on easy. Now I play on all star for pitching and veteran for hitting cuz I suck and I also like to win.

Twins drop 2 of 3 to Tigers at Target Field

Detroit (30-21) came into Target Field and took 2 of 3 from Minnesota (25-25).

The Twins won game one on Monday night 7-6 as they were powered by four homeruns, two of which came off the bat of Gary Sanchez. Cody Stashak (1-0) picked up his first win of the season in relief of Dylan Bundy. Bundy allowed five runs in his five innings of work.

Tuesday would be a different story as Chris Paddack and Eduardo Rodriguez went pitch for pitch in the tight contest. Each starter went six allowing just two runs before giving way to the bullpen. It was the Tigers who would eventually get the last laugh though, as they scored three off Tyler Duffey (1-1) in the top of the ninth. The Twins would add one in the bottom half, but the Tigers won the game 5-3.

The Twins bats were again silenced on Wednesday and they fell again to Detroit 5-1. Miguel Sano homered for the lone run, his team-leading 11th of the year. Chris Archer (4-5) left after 5 1/3 innings and two runs, with an apparent injury to his finger. His prognosis is day-to-day.

The Twins now sit at .500 on the year and are 4.5 games back of the Tigers. They will kick off a 4-game home series with the Royals on Thursday.
