This is exactly what I am doing with my Seattle Mariners franchise. I would like to post on here but for some reason I am unable. I am also using an app while playing called iScore which is awesome. For now, check out my Instagram profile @TheCapstodian and Twitter @TheCapstodian for MLB The Show Franchise content. I will also be live broadcasting some games on my Twitch account @CapMaster59Fifty. Hopefully someone can help me figure out why I can't post on here.

Josh Jung for the Rangers just disclosed his ankle in my franchise and is out 6+ months. Luckily I have a good backup but it did suck having to lose a guy for the season.

          Start of September - 2022

The last 6 weeks have been a bit of a struggle. A few trades are partially responsible. The piss poor rotation could be another factor. The team sits at 62-72 putting us 4th in the Central. The Whitesox have a 9-game lead in the division at 81-53. The AL and NL East along with the NL Central have the best division battles as we enter the final month of the season. The Guardians, Mariners, and Astros are fighting for the 2nd wildcard in the AL with the Yankees currently in the first spot with a 4 game lead. The NL Wildcard isn't quite as close with The Braves and Padres fighting for the top spot and the Giants 5 games back of the 2nd.

          Standings
          Spoiler

Coming out of the break we decided to give it about a week to see how things go before deciding on what to do with trades. We actually won 3 of the first 5 games but I didn't think we had what it would take to keep up with the White Sox. The Wild Card might have been possible but even then the pitching would have had to get better and it showed no signs of doing so the previous 4 months. So following a loss to the Angels on July 26th we decided to make some moves.

The first was sending Whit Merrifield to the other side of the stadium to join the visiting Angels receiving SP Adam Seminaris in return. We waited a few more days to see how the rest of the league looked at the deadline and made 3 more trades. We sent Carlos Santana and RP Gabe Spier to the Rays for SP John Doxakis. Cam Gallagher and Amir Garrett were sent to the Giants for RP Randy Rodriguez. And finally, Michael A. Taylor was sent to the Braves for RP Seth Elledge.

          Transactions
          Spoiler

M.J. Melendez has been better than expected so far. He wasn't playing very well down in AAA hitting .229/.309/.344. But his time in the majors has been very different. He enters September hitting .319/.381/.447 in 94 AB. He has spent most of his time in RF while taking over as catcher when Salvy needs a day off.

Nick Pratto hasn't been as lucky. He was also struggling in AAA hitting .231/.309/.377. He came up and had a rough couple of weeks hitting .196/.315/.304. He had a 4 hit game on August 14th in which he hit his first home run. Unfortunately, he suffered a Torn Finger Ligamentin the 9th inning of the game and has been on the IL since and he probably won't be back before the season is over.

Not a lot has changed with Bobby Witt Jr. Still struggling most of the time while showing glimpses of the star he can be. Still leading the AL Rookie of The Year race hitting .241/.314/.435 with 18 HR and 67 RBI. He also has 26 doubles to go along with 15 SB and a 1.9 WAR.

Kyle Isbel has taken over as the starter in CF after the trades and has done quite well. In 84 games now he is hitting .282/.340/.416 with 5 HR and 22 Doubles.

With only 1 month to go and not a whole lot to play for, evaluating our young guys and soon to be free agents is the goal. Jonathan Bowlan and Maikel Garcia will be called up to fill out the expanded rosters. Bowlan has been down in AA and has put up a 3.15 ERA in 143 IP. Garcia has spent time in AA and AAA. He hit .288/.358/.400 in 170 AB in AA and .286/.333/.349 in 63 AB in AAA. Hopefully, the playoff races heat up a bit, and none of the few teams fighting now run away with it.

Texas Rangers Season 1 MOM Update

We have reached the All Star Break and although we have played better as of late we still sit at 34-62. Not last in the division though as Oakland has assumed that role. All is not bad in Texas as Marcus Semien is leading the American League in hitting at 336. He also has 21 HR's. Seagar has also been good. Mitch Garver is on the 60 day IL with a Broken Arm. Pitching has definitely been our Problem. Gray, Perez, and Dunning have been Ok, but after that its been a mess. 1 trade so far as we traded AJ Alexy for Darren O Day.

Hey guys I'm going to be doing an expansion/relocation franchise. I will be taking the Oakland A's and relocating them to Las Vegas and naming them the Devils. I'll also be distributing all the players around the league and only bringing in Free agents only players 70 overall and below. first couple seasons will probably be rough, so I'll be doing monthly updates with some transactions mixed in. For my franchise I will be using the universal DH and no extra inning rule. I will be playing every first game in the series, simming the middle game and managing the others. I have Critical situations on and Quick counts. Hope you guys enjoy

Started 3-4 with the Braves, had a 7 game winning streak going into and including the first game of the Padres series to have a 10-4 record. The padres broke that 7 game winning streak yesterday to even the series, and I'm now 10-5.

Our defense has been great, offense has been average. Acuna started out slow but he's picking up. I feel like every time Albies hits the ball it's going to be a home run but his avg is only like .186
Swanson has been killing it, he's been the best overall offensive player for me so far. Olson has struggled a bit but he's had some nagging injuries.

This game is really good, can't wait to get home everyday in hopes I can play some more.

I think it's Albies' swing, it's awesome in the game. Feels like if he connects its going out of the stadium.

Mariners starting to rely on the rookies

Matt Brash was called up a week ago as SP Chris Flexen separated his shoulder and will be out for 4-6 weeks.

He made his first career start on the road vs the Rays and was great. He pitch 6.1 innings allowing only 4 hits and no runs. He walked one and struck out five in his debut.

Seattle has also gone a different direction with the OF bench players by recalling CF Julio Rodriguez. Julio was batting .316 with 1HR and 15RBI in triple A. The move allows the team to have a solid hitter vs lefties to give Winker those days off, who isn't good vs lefties.

Rodriguez will now make his debut playing LF in the final game of the Rays series vs the lefty Yarbrough.

To make room for Julio the team optioned speedster Billy Hamilton who only had 7 at bats and one stolen base this season.

Cardinals take 2 of 3 from Reds to begin 2nd half of season

The Cardinals (55-47) took 2 games of a 3 game series from the Reds in Cincinnati over the weekend to open up the 2nd half of the season.

The Cardinals now trail the Brewers by 1/2 game in National League Central Division.

The Cardinals were trying to pull off the sweep but pitching let them down Sunday a day after the offense picked them up. The Cardinals won Saturday 10-7 thanks to clutch hitting, but on Sunday the offense put up 8 runs but the pitching gave up 12, including 2 grand slams.

The Cardinals are off on Monday as they travel north to take on the Blue Jays in a brief 2 game mid-week series in Toronto, before travelling to Washington for a 3 game weekend series with the Nationals to close out the month of July.
I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

I'll also be distributing all the players around the league and only bringing in Free agents only players 70 overall and below. first couple seasons will probably be rough, so I'll be doing monthly updates with some transactions mixed in. For my franchise I will be using the universal DH and no extra inning rule. I will be playing every first game in the series, simming the middle game and managing the others. I have Critical situations on and Quick counts. Hope you guys enjoy

Cardinals acquire Anthony Bass from Marlins

The Cardinals and Marlins have struck a deal that will send RHP Anthony Bass to the Cardinals in exchange for LF prospect Matt Koperniak.

Bass is 1-1 this year with a save and 11 holds for the Marlins. He's pitched 48 innings to the tune of a 2.63 ERA. Bass possesses a good combination of slider, fastball and splitter.

Matt Koperniak is a 23 year old prospect that the Cards thought would jump from Double A to Triple A, but he just never honestly got the opportunity. Then when the Cards claimed Nick Plummer, former Cardinal prospect, off waivers from the Mets, Koperniak was blocked yet again.

The Cardinals really wanted/needed help in the bullpen as some of the arms they relied on early are starting to struggle so the hope is a fresh veteran arm will help steady the ship.

In a corresponding move, Kodi Whitley has been optioned back to Memphis. Brendan Donovan has been DFA'd to make room on the 40 man roster, and Nick Dunn was recalled from Memphis.
I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.
