Mariners lose CF Kyle Lewis for 1-2 months with leg injury. Placed on 10 day IL

Well it was as if fate would have it for recently called up CF Julio Rodriguez who will now roam center field in place of injured Kyle Lewis. The club opted to keep Billy Hamilton down in triple A and instead called up veteran OF Steven Souza Jr.

Kyle who has struggled at the plate this season, hitting only .200 but with 6hr and 14rbi showing some power early on. He was injured after hitting a double down the 3rd base line sliding into 2nd base in game one of the Astros series in Houston.

Oh man have fun with Julio ! If I was running a franchise with that team it would be hard to keep him in AAA.

Yeah I really hope I do well with him where I feel forced to keep him starting CF. Kelenic has hit too well to think about taking him out of the lineup at DH. And then Winker and Haniger as well. Lewis is really the only option. I am thinking about trading Lewis at the deadline if I could do it while making sense. I have a hard time believing they would in real life, but the OF is crowded to be honest. A good problem to have I suppose.

Wondering if Lewis could play 2nd base and move Frazier over to 3rd? I hit homeruns with Suárez early but he's cold now and I regularly can not ever hit with him.

With the Mariners sitting at 17-6 and three games remaining before Opening Day vs the Chicago White Sox, @ Chicago Cubs and @ San Diego Padres roster moves will be happening fast and furious. Emerson Hancock and Matt Brash are still competing for the #5 SP and have made it tough. Check out the stats below and let me know what y’all think.

Mariners lose 2B Adam Frazier for 2-3 months.

The injury bug has hit us hard to start the month of May. We now have Chris Flexen, Kyle Lewis, and now Frazier out for a significant amount of time.

Frazier was bitting .264 with 0HR and 1RBI on the season out of the leadoff spot. The team calls up 2B/ultility man Sam Haggerty to fill the bench spot. We have moved Ty France over to 2B and Abraham Toro will now start and play everyday at 1B. The depth of this team is being tested no doubt. I am confident we can manage and continue to stay in the divisional race as these guys get healthy. However, a couple more injuries and we could be in trouble.

The Rangers have lost 3 straight, including a short two game sweep in Philadelphia. Angels were swept by the White Sox and lost first two games of series in Boston for a season high 5 straight losses.

Because of their skid we have bolted up to be tied for the division lead with the Rangers (16-15), while all of a sudden the Angels are .500 and in 2nd. This division is going to go down to game 162 I can feel it.

Up next: Mariners (16-15, t-1st AL West) vs Rays (18-13, 2nd AL East, 1.0gb)

                          Game one: Logan Gilbert (3-3, 3.63era 34.2ip 40k) vs Josh Fleming (2-3, 1.78era 35.1ip 18k)

                          Game two: Marco Gonzales (3-1, 3.34era 35ip 19k) vs Corey Kluber (4-2, 2.57era 35ip 33k)

                          Game three: Matt Brash (1-0, 1.50era 12ip 9k) vs Shane McClanahan (2-2, 3.41era 29ip 22k)

                          Game four: Mike Foltynewicz (2-1, 2.93era 27.2ip 19k) vs Ryan Yarbrough (1-1, 3.54era 28ip 16k)

Yeah two straight games with injuries leading to IL stints is crazy lol. Casey Sadler left game early too but is a day to day thing so no big deal being a RP.

The injuries make me want to play more though believe it or not lol. I wanna see how Toro does playing everyday now. And maybe Haggerty gives me something off the bench that Dylan Moore hasn't as a utility man. The storylines unfolding is what makes playing a franchise in this game the best imo.
