      LegendKillerCold Franchise Restart

Finally got everything in order and I am ready to restart with games beginning on Friday

      Team- New York Mets

Sliders- Using the ones from S&B in the forums. Also using his random deck of cards chart.

Control- 30 Team, I handle all trades, signings, and moves. Complete control over the league to keep things realistic. I also use a salary cap so teams are kept in line with the way they spend. Every team has a different number cap.

Rosters- The latest ones released by the game. I added any top 10 prospects missing from teams. Only people i did not add were likes of Cano and any vets not in the game. I start the season with accurate lineups and rotations for all teams from the majors through AA. Anyone injured right now was put in the injured list for the time remaining on their injury

Roster Moves before opening day. Two moves were made.

Mets- In order to make up for no Cano I looked for a free agent who plays second and hits from the left side. I signed Joe Panik to a one year deal for 2.1 million

Rangers- Looking to strength their bullpen they picked up Trevor Rosenthal to a 5 year deal worth 15.5 million.

      Upcoming Series

The Mets open up the season with a three game set at home against the Washington Nationals

The starters for the series are..

      Corbin vs Megill

      Gray vs Scherzer

      Adon vs Bassitt
Mets Baseball, All Day Every Day

Bringing the trophy back to the Queens in MLB the Show 25.

        Box Score
Eric Haase homered twice, as the Tigers took the opening game of the three game set, 8-5. Rookie catcher Kyle Dutcher, just up from Toledo, homered in his first plate appearance. Casey Mize struggled, allowing 5 runs in 5 innings, but the Tiger bullpen held the Dodgers in check the rest of the way. Will Smith had a pair of homers for the Dodgers.

        Box Score

It took 10 innings, but the Tigers beat the Dodgers 4-3, to take the second game of the three game series. Javier Baez hit a 3 run home run in the 6th, erasing a 2-0 deficit. Freddie Freeman tied the game in the bottom of the 8th with a solo home run off of Tiger reliever Jose Cisnero. Kyle Dutcher doubled in the winning run in the top of the 10th. Box Score

The Dodgers beat the Tigers 4-3, to salvage the final game of the series. Detroit led 3-2 in the 7th, but Chris Taylor hit a 2 run home run off of Andrew Chafin, to put the Dodgers ahead for good. Kyle Dutcher homered, and drove in 2, in the losing effort.

        UP NEXT

The Tigers have an off day on Monday, then return home for a quick 2 game set against the Pittsburgh Pirates (9-20). The Tigers will then head to Houston, for a 4 game set against the Astros. Unfortunately (or fortunately) it appears the Tigers will miss Justin Verlander, as he is scheduled to pitch the day before the series begins.

        TIGERS NOTES

        Barnhart to the I.L.
Just prior to the Dodger series, the Tigers placed catcher Tucker Barnhart on the 10-Day I.L. with knee pain. Barnhart is scheduled to undergoe arthroscopic surgery, and will likely be out a couple months. Kyle Dutcher was called up to replace him.

        Riley Green nears rehab assignment
Rookie centerfielder Riley Greene is tentatively scheduled to begin a rehab assignment on Thursday. It is likely that he will do his rehab assignment at Triple A Toledo. Greene has been out with a fractured foot.

            Pirates make a trade!

The Pirates struck another deal, acquiring Zach Plesac from the Guardians for Alexander Mojica, Michael Burrows, and John Curtis. The Pirates get a young controllable pitcher. While the Guardians strengthen their bullpen with Curtis and get two solid prospects.

Pirates have traded Yoshi Tsutsugo, Ben Gamel, and JT Brubaker to the White Sox for Gavin Sheets. The White Sox needed bench depth and that's exactly what they get with Ben Gamel giving them a solid 4th outfield and Yoshi giving them a veteran presence. They also acquired JT Brubaker who can be a 5th starter for them and used out of the Bullpen. The Pirates get a First Basemen Sheets who hopefully they can build around with the other core they currently have.

Whew, we closed out the marathon stretch and avoided being swept in Cleveland, as we took the series finale 8-1 to end the 20-game stretch 11-9.

I forgot to mention that a few games back we signed Asdrubal Cabrera to a deal. Really wanted another left-handed bat option off the bench, and Asdrubal fits being a switch hitter who can also play a few infield positions.

Toronto is 22-14 on the season, tied for first with Tampa Bay. New York is 3 games back, Boston 4.5 and Baltimore rounds out the AL East 5.5 games out.

Let me know how you get on with Asdrubal. I was thinking of signing him. I had to send Cavan Biggio down. Couldn’t get a hit with him to save my life. Santiago took over full time 2B duties. Brought up Katoh / Fowler.

Katoh who’s been hitting and fielding quite well, will backup the IF and Fowler was raking in AAA and will be have the opportunity to be a decent bench bat.

Cardinals place IF Anderson Tejeda on 10 Day IL due to shoulder injury

The Cardinals have placed IF Anderson Tejeda on the 10 Day IL due to a shoulder injury suffered last night against the Pirates.

The 23 year old Tejeda was diving for a ground ball up the middle and landed awkwardly on his shoulder. Thankfully he avoided serious injury, but will require a stint on the IL and will likely miss about 2 weeks of action.

Edmundo Sosa was recalled from Memphis just 2 days after being optioned down.

Cardinals place catcher Ali Sanchez on 10 Day IL

The Cardinals have also placed catcher Ali Sanchez on the 10 Day IL due to a bruised forearm suffered on a hit by pitch last night against the Pirates.

Sanchez was batting for the first time in the 2nd when J.T Brubaker hit him with a 94mph fastball off the forearm/wrist area. Sanchez would leave the game for further evaluation. Luckily x-rays were negative and its just a deep bruise that will keep him out for a few days. However, given his position, the Cards decided to place him on the IL so they could recall a backup.

Ivan Herrera, Top 50 prospect in baseball (#47) was recalled from Memphis to serve as backup to Andrew Knizner. Herrera hasn't had the best of seasons thus far in Memphis hitting just .213 with a homerun and 14 RBI's.

The Cardinals have been without primary backstop Yadier Molina for a while due to a broken hand. He's not expected to return until after the all-star break.
I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

Tigers(18-11) Finish Roadtrip 2-4, Get Swept by Dodgers(25-3, 12 Game Win Streak)

We knew coming into this that facing this touted lineup, and the top three pitchers in the rotation that it would not be easy. At all. And that was proven as the Tigers closed out the month of April on a 3 game losing streak and started May with a loss as well. They were just simply outclassed in every game, only really threatening in game 2, where they lost 3-2. That of course was a pitching duel between Clayton Kershaw, and who else but Michael Pineda who has been our best arm so far this season. Mize continues to struggle, as well as Turnbull who had a bad start, and the Tigers gave up too many early and couldn't get them back until it was too late.

Now the Tigers get a day, and come home for a quick 2 game home series against the Pirates(15-14). They will look to end this 4 game losing streak at home, with Tarik Skubal on the mound.

                    AL Central Standings May 2nd:
                    Tigers 18-11 -
                    Guardians 14-15 4.0GB
                    Twins 13-16 5.0GB

So far, so good. He was on my Mets MLB 18 franchise squad, so I knew I'd likely have success with him.

I need to look at getting another fielder up to MLB. I used an early roster and Reece McGuire was still on the squad, along with Kirk and Jansen. Katoah and Fowler are call up possibilities.

I've struggled with Bo Bichette for some reason. He's had some flashes, but feel like I just can't get his swing timing down as good as others.

Nice! Katoh is a good option. He’s been great for me in three games. Might play him more often.

Bichettes swing timing gets me sometimes. I think his average isn’t great in my first month, but he’s got 5 HR, second in RBI and leading my team in doubles. When he connects the benefit of the multiple 0-for games make it worth it.

☆☆Mariners and Angels split the short two game series in Seattle. Both stay atop AL West.☆☆

**Unbelievable Trout has 6 homeruns in five games to start the season!

**Shortly after the game Mariners sent Sheffield down to the minors. When asked why the quick decision after just one start? Team President simply said, "He sucks."

Defeated the Nationals in the first game of the series for the Braves to improve to 7-4 overall. 4th win in a row. Final score of the game 8-1
Acuna, Olson, Riley, and Duvall would all have home runs in this game. Olson, Riley and Duvall would all have 2 RBI's with d'Arnaud adding an RBI as well.
Charlie Morton gets the win with 5 strikeouts

2022 Arizona Diamondbacks end of April

                                Overall Record:20-8 (1st NL West)

Diamondbacks finish April as MLB's number one team

The Arizona Diamondbacks finished April on four game winning streak and are 12-2 since April 17th. A big part of the teams success has been the pitching from the starters to the bullpen as Arizona currently leads the majors with a 2.59 team ERA the second place team is the New York Yankees (3.04). Zac Gallen is leading the staff with a 1.90 ERA which is good for 6th in the National League among eligible pitchers. His 42 strikeouts also rank 4th.

Most of the Diamondbacks starters have reached a decision in most of their games pitched. The only starter who is "struggling" is Luke Weaver, the D-Backs fourth starter as he has a record of 1-2 with a 3.77 ERA and just 13 strikeouts.

Closing pitcher Mark Melancon was a perfect 12-12 in save opportunities which is tied for first in the NL with the Dodgers Blake Treinen.

On offense, the production has been a bit scattered. Carson Kelly leads the team in RBI's (19) and has hit for a good average (.310). Josh Rojas leads the team with 5 homeruns but his .210 batting average has been noticed as he has started the season in the leadoff spot. Pavin Smith, Ketel Marte and Daulton Varsho are all hitting above .300 with Smith leading the team with a .321 average.

Varsho and Sergio Alcantara have missed a few games due to injury. Alcantara missed two games recently but is ready to return as the season moves into May. He will be entered back into the starting SS spot as the Diamondbacks look to sweep the Cardinals in St. Louis. After that game, the Diamondbacks will travel to Miami to face the Marlins (11-16) in a three game set.
