Re: MLB The Show 22 Franchise Discussion Thread

    Rough Week for the Twinkies
Minnesota dropped 5 of 6 games on the week, dropping their overall record to 6-10 on the season. The bats were quiet and the pitching was mediocre, as they sit in 4th place in the AL Central, 3 1/2 games back of the Tigers.

A pair of one-run losses on Tuesday and Wednesday to the Dodgers put a sour taste in their mouth before the headed to Boston for a 4-game set with the Red Sox. After a 3-2 win on Friday night, they Twins dropped the final three games, including two in Red Sox walk-off fashion.

In injury news, the Twins will be without second baseman Jorge Polanco for a few months. He was hit by a pitch in Boston on Friday night and broke a bone in his forearm. The Twins will have to try to figure out how to replace his .373 batting average. OF Trevor Larnach was called over from St. Paul.

The Twins will look to rebound this week as they complete their road-trip in Kansas City for three games, and then come back home for a three-game weekend series with the White Sox.

Hello, not sure if I'm in the right place or not, but wanted to ask a question. I am starting up a Franchise using the Nationals. Since MLB delayed the start of the regular season, my Franchise's schedule is not correct. Was there a patch that i missed or something that corrected the schedule in the game?

      thanks in advance

It’s the schedule before the lockout. The first two series’s are there. After that everything is normal.

Well mostly normal. Those series do get made up throughout the year.

Twins Go 2-4 Versus Division Foes
Looking to right the ship in mid-April, the Twins lost both series to the Royals and White Sox, winning only two of the six games.

The offense continues to sputter as stars like Buxton (.235) and Correa (.169) can't seem to get things going at the plate. Minnesota's starting pitching has been hit or miss, and the bullpen has already blown four saves in what has put the Twins at a disappointing 8-14 mark going into the final week of April.

After a much needed off-day on Monday, the Twins will welcome in the AL central division leading Tigers (14-9) into Target Field for three. They will then head to Tampa for a three-game weekend series with the Rays.

Sorry if this has been asked or answered already, but I am about 10 games into my twins 30 team control franchise and I am seeing weird rookie of the year stuff in the awards section. It has 2nd year players as the early favorite for the award. India is off to a hot start as in the favorite for ROY right now… only problem is he played 150 games and won it last year. Anyone else seeing this?

Restarted my franchise as the Cubs for the roster update. Opening day was a dud. Cubs lose 3-0. Cubs only tallied 3 hits, two from Seiya Suzuki making his debut he also drew a walk. Nico Horener had the other hit. In the top of the 9th cubs had two on with two out but Jason Heyward pops up to the catcher to end the game.

Stroman makes his Cubs debut in game 2.

Mariners make bold free agent moves prior to game two of Astros series

I said screw it and before next game I am bolstering my pitching. Signed Mike Foltynewicz for 2yr/5mil. Also signed RP Trevor Rosenthal for 2yr/$6.8mil. Unrealistic? Maybe lol. But I wanted Cueto but decided to sign him to White Sox as well as Archer to the Twins like they did real life.

Folty will make his season debut this game two of series. Margevicius was sent down as well was RP Sergio Romo and RP Justus Sheffield. Recalled RP Sal Romano to be our go to LRP if ever needed but will be used as MRP role as well when needed.

Started a franchise and disappointed at the all-star break. Simming and these two trades have happened-

Mets, having a bad year, trade Pete Alonso with multiple years left before FA to Tampa for Josh Lowe.

Mariners (leading the west) trade Julio Rodriguez to Colorado for Ryan McMahon (he's hitting a strong .218).

So much for that improved trade logic.

Rosenthal plays hero to zero within one game to the next in his debut with Seattle. Astros take the rubber match to win series.

Mariners have now lost 6 of their last 7.

                          Game one: Mariners (6 10 1) vs Astros (8 13 1) 11 innings

***We were up 2-0 to start the 8th. It was 3-3 to begin the 11th. A wild ending and another heartbreaking loss.

                          Game two: Mariners (2 5 0) vs Astros (1 6 0) 10 innings

**Again we were up late. 5-2 lead in the 7th. Tucker hits a clutch 3 run homerun on newly signed Rosenthal to give them a then 6-5 lead.

I have lost so many heartbreaking losses already! Just blowing late leads are really upsetting.

So has anyone ever seen Ohtani actually DH in their franchise? I’ve done a few test franchise with rosters and have never seen him DH a single time. In my current one the Angels are DHing Tyler Wade of all people. Checked to see if Ohtani is injured and he isn’t. Wasn’t this supposed to work right this year?

Diamondbacks extend winning steak to five, sweep mets 3-0

In game three against the Mets, Madison Bumgarner completed his second consequtive complete game shutout as the Diamondbacks beat the Mets 2-0 to complete the series sweep.

The first game of the series was the most competitive as the D-Backs won 6-3 behind homeruns by Jordan Luplow, Carson Kelly and Christian Walker.

The Diamondbacks are just a half game behind the division leading Giants as they prepare for a three game series against the Dodgers (12-10).
