Some great ‘journalistic’ write ups here, great stuff. You’re not getting any of that from me…I’d just like to say I’m delighted the mets finally have enough speed in the lineup for me to be able to steal bases 🙌🏻

Twins go 3-4 in first full week of the 2022 season

      Game 1: Twins 5, Guardians 4
Minnesota scored four in the first inning, but didn't score again until plating a single run in the tenth to beat the Guardians 5-4 in 10 innings. Byron Buxton had two hits and two RBI in the win.

Chris Paddack no-hit Cleveland in his seven innings of work, but the Twins found themselves with a case of the yips in the field as they committed eight throwing errors, allowing three unearned runs in the contest.

Gio Urshela had three hits and drove in the lone run as the Twins lost 4-1 to the Guardians in game two of the series.

Jose Ramirez and Andres Gimenez each drove in two runs in the win.

      Game 3: Guardians 9, Twins 4

Urshela had his second consecutive three-hit game in the loss.

      Game 1: Mariners 7, Twins 3
Logan Gilbert and the Seattle Mariners spoiled the 2022 home opener for the Twins with a 7-3 victory. Gilbert went 5 2/3 innings allowing just four hits and one run.

Cubs lose again 6-4 and drop to 20-14. Cubs had only 3 hits. Good news I got Suzuki back after the game. Bad news I lose top prospect Brennan Davis for 1-2 weeks with a finger contusion. Just can’t get healthy. Brewers pull to within 1 game in the division.

Cubs call up their #3 prospect 2B James Triantos he is raking in AAA hitting .336 with 4 home runs. He will have a chance to earn a starting job with Patrick Wisdom being a massive disappointment hitting .196 and rumors of a potential trade.

I just can’t hit all of a sudden. 1-0 loss to the padres. 5 losses in a row. Only got 1 hit off a Suzuki double with 2 outs in the 7th. My offense is real bad. Madrigal went from a .270 hitter now hitting .230 but it’s not just him it’s everybody.

            Cardinals split series with Royals

The Cardinals (16-14) split their mini two game series with the Royals in Kauffman Stadium. The Cardinals now trail the Cubs by 1 game in the NL Central division.

The Cardinals won Tuesday night 3-2 thanks to a late RBI single by Dylan Carlson in the 7th. T.J. McFarland would end up with the victory as the Cards bullpen was put the work after Miles Mikolas left in the 4th due to shoulder discomfort. He is listed as day to day.

Mikolas injury was only part of the drama as the Cardinals watched star 3rd baseman Nolan Arenado leave the game in the 5th with a calf injury. It was determined that Arenado has a torn calf and will miss 2-3 months, so he'll be back sometime in July.

On Wednesday there really wasn't much air in the Cardinals sail with the injuries taking place the night before. Dakota Hudson got roughed up again and the bats were quiet.

The Cardinals will now travel to San Francisco for a 4 game weekend series with the Giants.

Nolan Arenado placed on 60 Day IL

The Cardinals have placed 3B Nolan Arenado on the 60 Day IL due to a torn calf suffered in the 5th inning of Tuesday night's game against the Royals. Arenado will likely be out until sometime in July. Brendan Donovan was recalled from Memphis to fill the vacant roster spot. Edmundo Sosa for now will be the everyday 3rd baseman as the Cardinals try to figure out how to proceed going forward. Huge loss.

Tough injury Country. I turned my injury sliders up a bit and so far have been lucky just a blister for a pitcher so far.

I was gonna ask...Im about thirteen games in and have noticed the announcers dont talk about how the team is doing (after first pitch that is not hit and it shows the team's record)...do they eventually do that?

Also there have been no cut scene with talking about the fielders and no standings overlay or talk...just wondering if those things eventually start happening with more games played?

                  2022 Arizona Diamondbacks 04/15-04/17
Overall record 9-6 (2nd NL West)

D-Backs get another series victory 2-1 against the NY Mets

The Diamondbacks and Mets exchanged shutouts in the first two games of the series (2-0 D-Backs, 3-0 Mets). Game three saw a bit of an offensive explosion at least in Arizona's standards as both teams 'erupted' for ten hits.

Among Arizona's hits were a three run homer run by Nick Ahmed and solos by Josh Rojas and Christian Walker in the 5-2 victory.

The Diamondbacks are still with out a series loss midway through the first month of the season and will look to continue their streak in an upcoming four game set in the nations capital against the Washington Nationals (8-8).

It's the start of a new year for the Boston Red Sox. The 2021 Red Sox are no where to be found. So many interesting topics to cover in the inaugural issue of Red Sox Weekly. If John Henry crazy? Why did Trevor Rosenthal get a one-year $14.5 million dollar deal? Who did the Sox sign in free agency, and who did they bring in (and send out) via offseason trades, what happened to the rotation?

Is there a legacy thread for the things we still need to do before starting a franchise?

Like do we still need to use 30 Team Control, do we still need to adjust all the line ups every week because the CPU doesn’t change a thing etc.

Cardinals Designate Steven Matz for Assignment

The Cardinals have designated SP Steven Matz for assignment. The 30 year old signed a 4 year deal in the offseason, but he has been nothing short of a liability on the mound this year. Matz has started 7 games and is 1-4 in those starts with an ERA of 7.12, WHIP 1.50, and he's only pitched in 36.2 innings. In those innings he has given up 48 hits including 12 homeruns.

Not sure how the Cardinals will proceed whether they will assign him to the minors or see if there is a market for him.

LHP Brandon Waddell was recalled from Memphis as the Cardinals determine how they will proceed.

And using Matz last year on the Jays was a nightmare.
