Finished game 3 with my Braves against the Marlins last night, losing 1-0. Took 11 innings before somebody scored. 2-1 now. I wish I had more time to play this game, having a good time.

      Cubs 2022
HOF/LEGEND (First 10 games played, 1 a series afterward, all playoff games)

      July (54-52):

July was the worst month of the season for the Cubs as they compiled a 10-15 record, and fall to 3rd in the NL Central. The good news is, that they are only 2.5GB of 1st place MIL (57-50). The Cardinals are making it a 3 team race being only 1GB of the Brewers.

The Cubs headed into the month losing 7 of their first 10 games, including 3 of 4 vs the MLB juggernaut Dodgers (74-32). The Cubs struggled heading into the All-Star break losing another 3 of 4 game set to the NYM (50-56).

Despite having a few worthy contenders for an all star selection, The Cubs had only 1 representative at the All Star game. It was 27 year old Japanese rookie and phenom Seiya Suzuki (.272AVG, .345OBP, 15HR,53RBI, 8SB). Seiya was an alternate, but entered with great applause later in the game. The rookie looks to have a really promising future in the MLB.

The Cubs came out of the break and finished the month 4-5 in the last 9 games of July, while also losing starting 3B Patrick Wisdom for the next 4-6 weeks. This likely propels Bote to an everyday role, and Ildemaro Vargas being called back to the MLB level.

The Cubs made no other moves at the deadline, and this signals in the team’s desire to not upset the fanbase for a 2nd straight year. The Cubs held onto longtime catcher Wilson Contreras and did not trade him despite the ongoing rumors, and the Cubs locker room seems thankful to keep on one of the team leaders.

The Cubs will enter the dog days of August on a slump, one in which they cant seem to shake. This is the month when teams really find out what they are made of. Will the Cubs fall to the wayside, or compete for the NL Central?

After coming from behind against the Red Sox and beating them 10-5, the Cardinals go on a tear and are now (43-32), only 2.5 games behind the Brewers. This is in part to taking the first 3 games of a 4 game series against the Brew Crew and look for the sweep.

          Cardinals (7-5)

We finally got the bats cracking last night, the only thing about it was that it came in the 9th inning. Put together a 6 run 9th inning to blow the game wide open against the Brewers taking a 10-3 lead. Back 2 back Homeruns by Arenado and O'neil were the big blows in the inning. With that said, the Cards have now won 4 of the last 5 games and looking to make it 3 in a row.

Off to Detroit next hoping for a rebound.
VERY fun series against the Tigers!

We win the series 2-1. Get to see a debut on our end hit their first major league home run in their first major league at bat.

The Tigers had some young players connect with their first major league homers as well.

Some high scoring and not so high scoring affairs.

Sitting at a 3-4 record through 7 games!

How do you guys handle players on your team in franchise that you simply can't hit with? I'm running a Pittsburgh 'chise and I don't think I want to tear it down. I dealt some relief pitching to the Phillies for Bohm and moved him to first base. I'm enjoying him so far and my team is sitting three games under .500 at 10-13 right now. Rather then deal Reynolds, I think I'm going to continue building around him slowly.

With that said, I can't hit worth a lick with Ke'Bryan. I couldn't last year and I apparently can't this year either. Trading him feels slightly like tearing it down and I feel like Pitt is against the idea of moving him. But I can't hit with him. Any thoughts?

Just threw my first ever no hitter with Eduardo Rodriguez in Detroit! His second start of the season.

Didn’t realize I had one going until they mentioned it in the 5th and I got nervous. Was shaking in the 9th haha.

It's your game. Yes, you want to run it life-like, but there is no fun in not hitting well with a player. I say deal him worth value and get something nice in return that you'll be able to use.

I always hated trading Jason Varitek, but my goodness I could never hit with him!

Cardinals activate Harrison Bader off of IL

The Cardinals have activated CF Harrison Bader from the 10 day IL. Bader will return to the lineup for Wednesday nights game against the Mets.

In a corresponding move, OF Justin Toerner was sent back to Memphis. Tough decision to make, but at the moment he was the right person to move. Expect Toerner to return to the team soon, likely before the month is over.

Cardinals sign Trevor Rosenthal to 2 year deal

The Cardinals have agreed to a 2 year $8MM deal with a club option for the 2nd year. The 31 year old is returning home to St.Louis.

The Cards signed Rosenthal to help add depth to a bullpen that doesn't have many options beyond who is currently on the active roster. Rosenthal will report to Memphis to get going but could soon be recalled to the big league club.

San Diego Padres Losing Streak Grows
                        GM 24: (11-12)San Diego Padres @ Cincinatti Reds (11-11)
                        Joe Musgrove vs Mike Minor
The Padres bats came alive, but the relievers lost another one. They gave up 4 runs in the 7th. Stammen was the black sheep this time as he blew another positive starting pitcher's performance by the Friars.
Grisham, Myers and Alfaro all put balls into the cheap seats. It's the most homeruns in 1 game so far this season by San Diego. The Padres can't wait for motorcycle injured Tatis to make his return as his replacement Kim has been great on the defensive side of things but his bat is non existent. Another 0/4 day and an average sitting at .181. The chirping for Abrams have begun down in the minors. Brent Rooker is also hitting .143 sinc emaking his way west from the Twins trade.
                        W: Art Warren 1 Inn, 3 H, 1 K, 1 ER
                        L: Craig Stammen 1 Inn, 3 H, 1 K, 1 BB, 3 ER

Series: Cincinnati get the sweep over San Diego. San Diego are now on a 6 game losing streak with 2 straight sweeps. Relief pitching has been the main reason, as 4 of the 6 loses have come after the starter left with the lead and 1 with a tie. The Padres hope to correct the issues as they pack up to head to Pittsburgh.

Had a great game today that I got way too excited about. Was down 4-0 against the Marlins.
Top of the 6th I hit a two run homer with Swanson to make it 4-2.
Top of the 7th I hit a solo home run with Riley to make it 4-3 and then..a three run homer with Albies to give me the lead 6-4, which was the final score of the game.
Hitting a home run on this game, especially after struggling early on, and having scored 0 runs in the previous game, was extremely satisfying.

I send them down to AAA for a while. Hopefully he gets a fireball next to him while there then I'll bring him back. If not then I give it 3 or 4 weeks before calling him back up. In my mind I pretend he's been dealing with a nagging injury and is there until he gets fully healthy.

Last year I sucked with Chris Sale so bad. I sent him down when he had the ice ball thing. Kept him there for 3 or 4 starts and if he did well I called him back up. By then the ice ball was gone at least. Ryan Brazier I did the same. When called back I was dominate with him rest of my season. Chris Sale I just continued to be bad with unfortunately lol

In a 4 game series against the D Backs cubs drop the first two. Not much offense from either side. Game 3 Caleb Killian making his second career start gets hit in the head on a rocket line drive and left the game and was later put on the injured list with a head contusion. Justin Steele came in for the injured Killian and threw 5 innings and gave up 2 runs striking out 4.

Cubs were hitting the ball hard but couldn’t find any holes. That was until the bottom of the 8th after an infield single and a walk Alfonso Rivas pinch hits for Schwindel who has struggled against righties and hits a go head 3 run home run and Rowan Wick comes in and records his 18th save of the season cubs win 4-2.
