Re: MLB The Show 22 Franchise Discussion Thread
For all of you who are knee-deep in your franchises already, which rosters are you playing with? I am looking to start my Mets franchise (and post semi-regularly with updates for once!) though I would like real Robby Cano and Seiya Suzuki (among others) in the game, as well as updated overalls/potentials so that I don't manually have to do those myself lol. Cheers!Comment

Re: MLB The Show 22 Franchise Discussion Thread
LegendKillerOne 30 Team Control Franchise
Background- I use 30 team control and control all trade and contract decisions on every roster. Only thing I leave the computer control of for the 29 teams that are not mine is the Injury Management, Scouting, Lineups, Rotation, Callups, and Drafting. I use the Mets in my franchise as my team so for that I control all aspects 100%. My total goal is to always run the teams based on how they are run in real life. So, while baseball has now salary cap, I use a soft cap to keep the teams around the type of budget you would normally see.
Sliders- I firmly believe in a game that is always a challenge. I would much rather miss the playoffs then win 130 plus games a year and constantly be in the World Series when that is not at all realistic. Realism is everything to me. I use armor and sword sliders and settings for my franchise. You can find those sliders here
Armor & Sword’s MLB The Show 22 Classic/Directional/Clean Screen Simulation Sliders - Operation Sports Forums
Trading- Every trade I make must even out in value. For that I always use the baseball trade values site for that. Baseball Trade Values » Accurate trade values & realistic trade proposals
Operating the other 29- I will look at each teams progress every 15 games to see if any moves need to make or adjustments during the season. I will use this for trades, promoting future stars, moving vets. Etc.
Rosters- I use my own with created players for those missing. No edits or gear changes just created missing players to go with what SDS had.
See the Vault for LegendKillerCold is the user name. Roster in vault matches the excel files 100%
Files- I have an excel file for the league that will be updated and linked every two weeks and posted for people who wish to see the standings and the league leaders. I also have an excel file for every team in the league that includes the entire roster, age, overall, potential, and contracts listed. I use these as guides the entire season. You are all more then welcome to take them and use for your own leagues if you wish. You can find my google drive here.

LegendKillerOne 30 Team Control Franchise Spring Training Report
Spring Training has come and gone and for most things stayed injury free. Two teams however did get hit by the injury bug in spring
The Marlins lost newly acquired catcher Jacob Stallings to a Broken Hand and he will miss 60 days and was placed on the 60 Day DL. The Marlins will open the season with a catcher tandem of Nick Fortes and Payton Henry
One other spring injury of note was the Rays lost RF Manuel Margot to a Fractured Wrist. He was scheduled to open the season coming off the bench for the Rays. Luke Raley made the team after getting extra playing time this spring after the injury and will travel with the club to Tampa.
*Breaking Trade News*
The Mets had good depth at starting pitcher and with Tyler Megill making the team coming out of spring and joining the rotation the Mets looked to shave a little salary while also picking up a young OF who can add to their lack of minor league outfield prospects. Shopping him around the Cubs had interest as they had an abundance of young OF players and were looking for a starter to throw into the number three spot behind Hendricks and Stroman.
So a trade was made as the Mets sent Carlos Carrasco in the final year of his deal making just over 11 million to the Cubs for B level prospect CF Alexander Canario.
The trade helps both teams, Get the Mets a chance to try and mold a younger OF player and puts them under the Cap while the Cubs picked up a much-needed number 3 starter with a short term contract.
The Cubs will slide Carrasco into the 3 spot in the rotation while the Mets will send Canario to double A to start the season.
With that said we get ready for the regular season. It might be a few days before we see some games played as I now have to set all 30 teams AAA and AA rotations and lineups.Last edited by LegendKillerOne; 04-13-2022, 06:57 AM.Mets Baseball, All Day Every Day

Re: MLB The Show 22 Franchise Discussion Thread
any way to force a trade to go through mid season? I do not have force trade or CPU control on. I want to make a move that happened IRL. I maxed out my player and all his stats to 99 and potential to A (I will edit them back down after the move is done) and edited the player i wanted to all 0 and F potential and CPU still says "We think we should be getting back more". Both players have the same salary of 700 KComment

Re: MLB The Show 22 Franchise Discussion Thread
Blue Jays are 13-6 on the season following a series win in Boston. The Red Sox took the finale 5-3 to avoid the sweep.
Vlad Jr. has cooled off a bit since hitting 5 HRs in 4 games. He still leads the team with 8 HRs and his .288 batting average is second on the team, behind only Raimel Tapia's .292 average.
Teoscar Hernandez is heating up. He's blasted a HR in each of the last 3 games, including a ridiculous 475-foot bomb in game 2 of the series in Fenway.
Bo Bichette's slow April is ever so gradually showing signs of turning around. He's had 2 hits in each of the last 2 games, and his average has finally crept back over .200. Still, it's a bit shocking to be 19 games in and see him with only 1 HR and 2 RBI.
Pitching-wise, Kevin Gausman has been the most consistent of the starters; he's avoided what the others haven't in at least one start, and that's giving up a big inning of 3-plus runs.
The bullpen has been forced into more work than I was hoping, and already you're seeing the effects of that with lower stamina and more blown leads and save opportunities.
So, while the record is good there's still work to do and things to improve upon. With Tampa and New York just a game back, there's not much room for error.Currently Playing:

Cardinals are now 39-32, 6 games in back of division leader Milwaukee.
Down on the farm SP prospect, Matthew Liberatore pitched 8 innings only allowing 2 runs on 6 hits and is progressing quicker than expected. Although for now he will stay in AAA, management has their eye on a call up at some point if he continues to shine.Comment

Cubs (25-17) are back in the winning ways after a sweep of the pirates. A 7-0 win. Alfonso Rivas went 3-4 with 2RBI. Stroman pitched 6 inning shut out innings of 1 hit ball. After the game the Cubs activated top prospect Brennan Davis from the injured list and sent down James Triantos who was only hitting .200 but showed flashes of his potential but from the recent resurgence of Wisdom the cubs decide to stick with Rivas on the roster over Triantos.Comment

Tigers(11-6) Drop 3/4 in KC
The (Still) First Place in the Central Detroit Tigers flew over to division rival Kansas City(7-9) for a four game set. It really did not go their way. Being outscored 21-13 will do that to you. And to make matters worse, they were outscored 18-5 the last two games. With Eduardo and Turnbull on the mound no less. Javy Baez saw his home run streak end at 4 games, and went hit less.
The Tigers now will have a day off to fly back to the Motor City before starting a 6 game home stand. 3 against the best team in the league, the New York Yankees up first. They are 15-2 and led by early MVP front runner Giancarlo Stanton who is hitting .426/.502/1.418 with 9 HR, 29 RBI in 17 games. So this will sure be a test for the Tigers, as they enter this series 4-6 in their last ten, and with a 2.5 game lead over the Guardians.Comment

Re: MLB The Show 22 Franchise Discussion Thread
Twins take 2/3 in Cleveland and improve to 4-2 on the season.
After opening the season in Chicago, the Twins traveled to Cleveland to continue a strong opening start to the season taking on another division rival in the newly minted Guardians.
In-game 1, the bats came absolutely alive and they beat the Guardians by a score of 10-4. HRs from Miguel Sano and Gary Sanchez, anchored by multiple hits and RBI games by Jorge Polanco and Carlos Correa provided the spark. The Twins bats are en Fuego right now and they can only hope this stays consistent throughout the season.
Game 2 saw the major league debut of Twins top pitching prospect, Jordan Balazovic. After giving up 2 runs in the first inning, he bounced back and pitched a solid 5 innings, giving up 6 hits, 3 ER, 2 walks, and 8 strikeouts. The Twins were held punchless until the 4th inning when they got a Carlos Correa HR to bring the score within 1. Correa added 2 more RBIs to tie the game at 4 and send us to extra innings. In the top of the 10th, Miguel Sano stroked a run-scoring single to give the Twins a 4-3 lead and it looked like they were going to complete the comeback and take the win. However, in the bottom of the 10th, closer Taylor Rogers gave up a double to Jose Ramirez to score the runner on 2nd, then, Reyes got in on the action and stroked a single to left to send the Cleveland fans home and happy with a W.
Game 3 was nothing like the first two of the series. This one was all about pitching. The Twins had 6 hits and the Guardians had 8, but the Twins were the ones who walked out with a 1-0 win by Ryan Jeffers home run in the 8th. Sonny Gray was masterful on the mound. Pitching 8 innings, giving up 8 hits, 1 BB, and 3 strikeouts with 0 ER. Rogers secured the save in the 9th to earn his 2nd of the season.
The Twins now sit at 4-2 and will be welcoming the Mariners to Minnesota for their home opener on Thursday!
-------------------------
Around the MLB
The Twins lead the AL Central with a 4-2 record, followed closely by the hot Tigers at 4-3
The Astros are FLYING in the AL West with a 6-0 record, with the Angels on their tail at 4-2
The Jays are the cream of the crop in the AL East at 5-1. Surprisingly, the Yankees are languishing in dead last at 1-6
In the NL West, the Dodgers have a slim lead over the Padres and Giants at 5-2
NL Central sees the red hot Brewers undefeated at 6-0
In the NL East, the Marlins are 5-2 but have the Mets right on their tail at 4-1. The Nationals are in dead last at 0-5
Kevin Kiermaier is on FIRE in the early going hitting an astonishing .591 in the AL, while also leading the league in hits with 13.
In the NL, Mike Moustakas is hitting .500 for the Reds.Last edited by Gosens6; 04-13-2022, 11:11 AM.Comment

San Diego Padres Darvish goes 100 Pitches In Loss
Game 21:(8-11) Los Angeles Dodgers @ San Diego Padres (11-9)
Dustin May vs Yu Darvish
Trent Grisham smashed a 2 run homerun, but it wasn't enough. Many will doubt manager Bob Melvin and his choice to let Yu Darvish pitch 100 pitches into the 6th. He held LA scoreless up until pitch 100, when Max Muncy went deep to tie the game. A scoreless 7th, 8th and 9th lead to extras. LA was able to score their runner on 2nd and add an insurance run of Mookie Betts after Freddie Freeman hit a double. Trienen then came in to close the 10th for LA. San Diego was able to score 1 run and even got Kim to 1st as the tying run but Trent Grisham struck out swinging to send the home fans home, tired and disappointed. Dustin May, the rookie struckout 10 in the no decision.
W: Tyler Anderson 2 Inn, 1 K
L: Austin Meadows 1Inn, 1 K
Series: Dodgers swept San Diego in which 2 games went to extra innings. San Diego will now head off to Cincinnati for a 3 game set, hoping to right the ship.Sacramento Kings San Diego Padres Dallas Cowboys Liverpool FC
