I also don't like the clutch thing at all. It's too arcadey to me. I'm definitely concerned.

On the plus side, I saw something I don't think I've seen the last 2 years. Threw a pickoff over to 1B and it was wide and went to the wall. Still threw the runner out at 2B because the ball still ricochets too hard. But at least there was an error (kind of, though technically not) on a pickoff, so that's nice.

Understand, but when they are talking clutch having more impact was simply raising clutch from an 88 to a 99 the solution? Posting this in hopes they do read it. If not I can see me doing a bunch of clutch ratings adjustments when the game is released.

Only played 4/5 games so far and its hard to experience how the game will truly play for me in franchise because Im using mostly 99 rated players in DD.

Wish they’d allow us to use any team other than Phillies/Astros and a DD team.

I have noticed a lot, and I mean A LOT of hit by pitches while im hitting. Thats one thing I think needs to be toned down.

I’ve seen some say the bat on balls sounds are nice but so far they sound very weak to me. Only perfect/perfect produces a nice sound. Maybe intentionally.

Otherwise the game plays really nice for me. Very smooth so far. But like I said hard to judge gameplay and animations using overrated players where it seems like everything is a HR or pop up.

Think I’ll stick with the Phillies or Astros for the rest of the tech test.

I’ve played a few more games tonight. I don’t know, something just feels off with the game this year. Feels like the gameplay has actually taken a step back. And this clutch thing just isn’t good at all. Not to mention the strike outs are through the roof. I feel like they’ve tried to fix things that weren’t broken.

One little thing I noticed was that on close plays at first base, the umpire will wait a second before actually calling the runner out or safe. It's a nice touch bc you see that in real life quite a bit.

Also, please let this be the year we can turn off the home run cam. I just don't understand how that's not even possible.

yep. I'm already thinking every player will need their clutch rating set in between their Contact Left & Contact Right rating,
so that for example a player with Con. L. rating of say, 69 and a Con. R. rating of 89, will need a clutch rating of 79

Don't forget that the pitchers clutch rating will balance out the batters clutch rating so maybe it won't be as over powered as we think

You could always use a theme team in DD using Live Series cards only and play vs CPU.

Those aren't the ratings for this year. Those are the ratings from the end of last year. And given that the Astros won the World Series and the Phillies the pennant, their clutch ratings got juiced in the Postseason ratings update. The ratings will be different when the actual game comes out next month.

The first rating is from the tech test. The 2nd rating is from the 22 default roster. The point I’m making is there are a lot of 99/97 clutch ratings in both the pitchers and hitters. If you know for sure they will be different, then great, but we’ll have to wait and see.

I still don’t understand what the point of changing this was, other than to be able to say they’d changed something. Change for the sake of change is rarely a good thing. I’m not really liking what I’ve seen of it so far, but hopefully the more I play the more it evens out.

Yeah, I understand, what I'm saying is that the Tech Test ratings are the exact ratings from the November Ratings Update last year. I'm confident those won't be the launch rosters.

Im not suprised at all. its been like a decade now and there excuse back then was they only do something if they can get it right. ( i remember watching them say it about that and the weather affecting the field and doubleheaders etc. implementing it) so none of that will be touched and neither will things like bullpen logic either which i refuse to give them any sort of pass on anymore. its just frustrating. tbh all of those items are part of the true baseball experience. mine is just the bullpen logic system more than anything else.
