I downloaded the tech test on Xbox series x. Won’t let me access the game. Screen says, Do you own this game or app? It wants a game disc or get the rights at the Microsoft store. Anyone have this issue? Anything I’ve missed that I need to do?

MLB The Show 23 Technical Test Starts on February 15

I used to enjoy while pitching using dpad to the right to see my pitch count per pitch and now it doesn’t show up. Stat cast doesn’t list the pitches.

To annoying to half to pause the game and go into pitcher analysis each time.

I also enjoyed pulling up where the pitches, landed or missed etc and these look tiny compared to when your the batter and pull these up.

Not a fan of the settings menu overhaul. It gonna take a lot getting used to remembering where everything is now.

I’m on AUTO field (manual throw) and I can’t seem to find the setting to turn off the blue circle under the fielder…..anyone?

Perhaps it’s not functioning for the test????

D-pad accessibility is disabled in the tech test for some reason. Been this way a few years.

Frustrating when you're so used to using it.

I remember something like that last year where it was available in DD but not practice?

I think it's actually options explorer that disables it, even in the actual retail game. Pretty sure it works in DD (though I haven't gone online as I'm waiting for the PS5 version to download)

Oops my bad. I rarely mess with DD in the tech test and just stick to options explorer.

                      Thanks for the clarification

Tried it in 3 different type games. Explorer type game it could just not be on because what there hiding. Then in DD vs friend doesn’t work, dpad works normal there and casual. Found out unfortunately all games online once again are fast play but no wind or flags. SMH

I thought the strikeouts was high as well, then I went and looked at strikeouts per game per team and the Phillies and Dodgers are both tied at 8.54 per game so that is basically 17 strikeouts per game. That would be 34 in two games so I guess it’s not that far off. I also seen that there was better base running (auto) I had a runner on first with 59 speed. I hit a routine single to RCF and the runner didn’t hesitate to go to third. It wasn’t that many years ago that the show played station to station most of the time. Sounds in game are good with a variety of sounds off the bat.

I like the new throwing mechanic so far. But as far as the field feeling big, OFers are still easily getting to balls in the gap for me. Doesn't seem any different to me.

I absolutely hate the change to clutch with it completely replacing contact with RISP. Which is exactly when contact should be most useful, but now it's totally useless.

The ball off the bat sounds awful to me.

I like the "Catcher" hitting cam. "Catcher Far" and "Catcher Near" are MLB 15 and 16 renamed, but "Catcher" seems to be a new one to me that's kinda in between 15 and 16 (which makes sense)

Description for clutch has been reworked in the in-game guide - and there's a bit more to it than what was indicated in the gameplay stream (sorry for watermarks getting in the way - it can't be helped) -

So.....contact vs. handedness with RISP still matters.

The main differences I’ve noticed are audio enhancements. Game sounds really good. Also, the ball only needs to clip the zone to be a strike unlike years pass where it had to be at least half in the zone. This is a welcome addition as it’s true to life.
