Explorer does offer CPU VS CPU as well.

In DD, do you have to play against someone else? Or can you play vs CPU?

In DD, Play vs. CPU is present (9-inning games). Conquest and its 3-inning games is not.

Only thing is that you cannot change game styles in Play vs. CPU - it's locked to Competitive like the rest of DD. Can only change that in custom practice/options explorer.

Edit: Though I will suggest at least trying competitive, even if you'll only play sim when the game comes out - you might find that they aren't that different. The main difference in the modes is in how easy/hard it is to have good input with the game's various interfaces - and that is a complete non-factor when it comes to the options many on this board use, such as directional hitting/classic pitching, etc. The one thing you might miss would be the ability to turn the perfect strike zone off (although if you think robot umps should be in the real MLB too, well....)

Isn't the test tech to also be testing their servers? So I assume there would be some issues to iron out.

after playing a couple games and it looking exactly the same I'm skipping out this year again. aside from Jeter being in this game nothing else truly excited me. it hurts skipping out the last 2 years, but I can't keep spending money on a game that barely has change in years.

If it wasn't for Gamepass, I wouldn't have played the last two. From what you're saying, I wouldn't be playing this one either.

Doesn't feel like they try to improve or reinvigorate the game graphically at all. Year after year the game instantly feels stale.

The positives



I do like the larger number text when looking at ratings/pie chart.



Bat sounds.


The new depth chart screen takes a lil getting use to .



I do like that now when going to bullpen its categorized

on 22 even though i had it set on roster in game the bullpen didnt show correct order I had set.



Ball smacking the mit on a strikeout.

I wish where the ball landed while pitching that chart the dot icons were a lil bigger.


I still wanna be able to use the D-PAD and bring up how many times ive throen each pitch and show strike % per pitch.

Nah thats not the case. I've been playing since around 06. I think 22 was fantastic.

Yes crowds and sounds are good
But as a Cubs Franchise player and having no updates to Nico Hoener (still long hair) and playing against Rockies Grichuk still has NO update after 5yrs
And the thing that kills me is their Scoreboard pictures reflect the changes they made

Def disappointing even though most of you will find this minor

I played a game of '22 after having played 3 games of the tech test and I take back my concern about strikeouts. The amount and manner they happened were extremely similar so thats good.
