The problem is when one or the other gets sort of ridiculed when they make a comment. If someone says man the graphics look great, let it be. No need to then tag that comment and ridicule them for thinking the graphics look great.

Maybe there should just be a complaint thread for people that are just unhappy with the game/graphics/franchise/ where they can unload their feelings. So those that are happy with the game/graphics/franchise/ can be left alone for being happy with what we have.

I pre-ordered the game early release, and took the day off next Friday to just MLB all day (coordinated with my wife and kids of course). I played '22 to death for an entire year, even with all its shortcomings the game is still great for me. I like to come on these boards to discuss the game like adults, not to weed through people talking like teenagers to each other.
Or maybe we can be adults, and that includes you. If you're going on the forums expecting anything other than people squabbling about their opinions, then you're not mature enough to handle this reality. I mean, really? Separate threads for complaints and praise? Why? So everyone can hold hands by a campfire in a glorious Utopia of clones that think like you?

There will be opinions we don't like. We can't always run away from that. There are people in denial about The Show, but hey, if they're enjoying the game, sure... They can enjoy it, but instead those that praise this series spend countless hours defending this franchise.

I've never owned a Playstation. I didn't get to play this series until '21 on Xbox, and while I like the game, I'm already bored of what it offers. The improvements year to year in this franchise is bad. I have no idea what anyone is excited for. I've read hundreds of posts by fans of this series do everything they can to find something to be excited for, but the reality is, if you have to dig this deep to find praise, that's not a good thing.

But the folks who attack people who say anything negative about the game are A okay in your eyes? Give me a break.

Seperate threads for complaints and praises? Everyone is entitled to their opinion. So sorry you have to weed through posts of people who don’t think this game is perfect like you do.

I love this series, have been buying it every year since I can even remember but let’s not pretend it’s not without its flaws. People can point out these flaws as often as they want, just like you can praise it whenever you want.

I love the irony of your post starting with this statement and then you basically ridiculing those that like the game.

Someone criticizing the game doesn’t automatically mean they should shut up and not buy the game. It’s not always going to be sunshine and rainbows.

The franchise mode is shallow and lacking depth, and he’s allowed to voice his displeasure or his disbelief in the fact that people are talking more about fly bys and presentation elements that will get old after 5 games.

You can be happy with what we got, he can be disappointed and everyone is allowed to share their opinions.
I think the thing that is getting old at this point is people are saying the same thing in every single thread that is made, and it turns into this. Lots of people, myself included have been harsh on the game this cycle. But everything has been said at this point, and people are just repeating themselves. The game releases in a week. At this point we have the game we have. So I really don’t know what other response than “either buy the game or don’t” people are expecting now. It’s really the only thing left to be said.

While I see you’re point, like you said, we don’t have the game yet so there’s really not much else to discuss.

The people who are excited will continue to discuss why they’re excited, and the people who are disappointed will continue to express their disappointment.

It has to be fair from both sides and it’s far from

The same three posters dragging everything into a pedantic argument about semantics is beyond frustrating. They show up in every thread to derail any discussion that doesn’t fit their narrative of the developers being infallible and the plebeian customers being ungrateful.

I was trying to say that every thread seems to turn in to people on both sides attacking each other. I did make mention that it comes from both sides. I only made the example coming from one side in my comment though, and that seems to be what some guys focused on.

Its 100% not about everyone needing to love the every aspect of the game either, I did mention that the game certainly has its faults but I think that was ignored also. I'm not trying to start arguments here I'm looking for a solution to keep the board a decent place to talk about the game.

I agree with you, but I think that there are two issues that have resulted in this thread devolving:

                          1. Folks should absolutely feel comfortable stating their opinion. But state it once, and let it go. The issue is people repeating the same opinion over and over and over. It is a) pointless and b) is, IMO, a TOS violation (agenda-posting).

                          2. Folks (on both sides) feel the need to "defend" their POV by responding to others' opinions. That's honestly pretty silly if you think about it. No one should care about what other people think about something as trivial as a video game (and no matter how passionate you might be about it - it IS still trivial in the grand scheme of things).

People need to just focus on THE GAME and stop worrying about responding to others' opinions. There are PLENTY of good discussion topics from just that feature premiere alone that go well beyond "I like it" or "I don't like it".
Play the games you love, not the games you want to love.

I hear you! Good points all around here. Every thread turns into people defending their points against people who don’t agree with their points. (I’ve been guilty of it before, I think we all have been)

And like you said, it’s a video game and at the end of the day it is trivial as hell. I’ll always be under the belief that people should be entitled to post their opinions, good or bad and not be ridiculed or told to just “not buy the game”

The same way people shouldn’t be attacked for enjoying the game as much as they do. It gets old reading it in every single thread.

But, the thread has been derailed enough and I’ve said my peace. Let’s get back to discussing MLB The Show!
