The draft was moved to the All Star break last season. The Show changed it this year in the game to mirror when it takes place in real life.
I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

I don't think it was ever after the season. They did mention that they moved the draft to the all star break this year like IRL. So maybe that's what he meant

and I couldn't find if it is the usual 93 man rosters I am guessing it is. because I flicked the video it was all about the draft class which looks good. but couldn't see a peak of a roster.

I will get the game not sure it is work a extra $45 to get it 5 days earlier though, that might just say my priorities in life is changed now though rather then excitement. or I am just getting older.
The position tuning is referring to how much specific attributes determine a player overall.

For example, in previous versions, if you make a SS a 2B his overall goes up by 5 overall.

What they are saying is that won't be a true thing any longer. That certain positions, like SS and CF were weighted for overall based on defense. They are tuning that is what is being referred to.

The MLB draft had always been in June after the college and high school baseball seasons were over. This way, prospects could start playing in fall and winter leagues to develop faster.

The draft was moved to near the all-star break and SDS changed that in the game to match real life. It was actually a good time for them to change scouting to add this date change into the game.

And if you listen, they mention the MLB draft combine when they talk about the doctor report. They didn't have time to add it this year, but it may be another addition to scouting in 24.

Did I hear them mention that team budgeting had been reworked? Thought they said they used San Diego as an example of a team whose payroll had increased and is now reflected in the game.

Maybe small market teams will be even more budget conscious now.

Yeah interesting point. For example Cleveland is very small market with an owner that doesn't like to spend, but they will sometimes open up the wallet when they feel like they're ready to contend. Seems like it would be hard to reflect that in a video game.

This was where buying budget with extra stubs was beneficial. You could turn a small market team into a bigger market. I wish they would bring that back and give us something to spend our stubs on. Sponsorships help but only produce $10M where you could buy $40-80M with stubs on budget.

Feels like cheating to me though. If the small market teams that I don't control can't create a bigger budget, then I don't want to either. That's just a personal preference on my end. No knock on anyone that does that.

Maybe SDS can make this change for 24.

TSN might be copyrighted because it’s a Canadian network.

Finally have some time to type out some complete thoughts about the stream. Overall it was great. The presentation stuff is awesome. Was honestly really impressed with all the new graphics and overlays they showed, and I'm sure there will still be some little things that they didn't cover that we will see in game.

The Franchise portion was really encouraging as well. While franchise isn't the focus of the "big-picture" marketing side, it's clear that Tim and Clayton are passionate about improving the mode and put a lot of work into it this year.

The draft/scouting has been lame for a while so almost any change was going to be a welcome one. I like how they streamlined the process a bit, but like other's mentioned it would still be nice to be able to get a more granular into the process. I still feel like there are pieces of the old system that still leave a little bit to be desired, but overall it's a nice change.

The prospect generation logic is promising if it works as advertising. Hopefully it translates into the bonus demand logic as well as 4-year seniors shouldn't be receiving large bonuses since they don't have much leverage. The biggest bonuses should be given out to top HS seniors (who could instead go to college if they don't get drafted where they want or receive the bonus they are looking for). It's also cool that unsigned players will reappear in the future draft classes as well. Hopefully they allow you to keep the reports you had on those players so you don't have to "re-scout" them just to get the same info you had last year

I'm still a little wary on how well this will work in the game. On the surface it didn't seem to lead to much different results than previous years when they scrolled through each team's picks. Still seemed like the end results were a bit random compared to the scouting reports (which isn't necessarily bad, like they mentioned it is a way to incorporate a bit of "fog of war"). It's hard to determine since they simmed through a lot of it though, maybe those players were scouted by the scout with lower ratings.

Still some things I'd like to see added, but this along with updating all the new CBA terms* was obviously a big undertaking.
                        *
                        Spoiler

Overall I'm excited to see how it works. Also I could be wrong as I haven't really played MTO much, but I believe this is the first mechanic to work the same way in both modes, which is pretty cool to see that vision of MTO as a "testing ground" for the future of "Season" modes is coming together a bit

Not going to lie. When i see the clip of players up on the stage I kind of expect them to break out into dance.

Looked cool with only a couple players there, but the shots of what looked like 7 or 8 players looked funny to me.

Haha in hindsight I agree. It did look a little crowded when they had the whole starting lineup on there, but having Boog say something like "we've got the 3, 4 and 5 hitters coming up next inning" and them cutting to one of those graphics with those 3 hitters shown is going to be a cool touch.

The Game of the Week specific package is also really cool and I love that they have rebranded the regional packages too.

All that stuff makes me miss SOTS even more though. It would have been awesome to make each different package into a different network.
