Re: MLB The Show 23 Franchise Mode Discussion

I decided to add a "Trade Deadline" tab to my spreadsheet to keep the major trades seperate from in-season trades earlier in the season, which I have in my "League News and Notes" section, which is already longer than I intended.

Speaking of the trade deadline...it's so tempting to make a big trade but I just can't get myself to trade anyone away. The White Sox have both Lucas Giolito and Andrew Vaughan on the market, but I can't find a package that I'm comfortable enough parting with. I do need a bat and first baseman, with Drury being out, and I could always use starting pitching...

Are you using 30 team control or no? And if not how bad have the trades been between computer teams? I have been running the Mariners on 30 team control but want to have my second franchise be non 30 team control but when I see people post trades like KC dealing Bobby Witt I cringe

I'm using 30 team control but I have trades on auto. If I see a trade that is just outright horrible I will just reload the file. I'm still playing '22, so I'm not sure if the logic on '23 will be any different but even on '22 I've seen Adley Rutschmann traded before.

Mariners (8-8) sweep away Brewers (5-11) as rumblings start taking place in Milwaukee

Mariners come into the series looking to start to climb toward the top of the standings

Game one showed Robbie Ray continue to show dominance this April as he threw 7 strong innings allowing only 2 runs on 6 hits. The offense showed up as well in this one with 12 hits the most this season in a game. Cooper Hummel went 3-3 with 2 RBI, Cal Releigh had 2 hits and so did Teoscar Hernandez. Add in a solo HR from Kolten Wong and a HR from Cal Raleigh and you get yourself a 7-2 Mariners win. The win puts Robbie Ray at 2-0 on the season

Game two of the series saw the Mariners pen blow a 3-1 lead in the 8th and allow the Brewers to tie the game. That also took away a chance at Logan Gilbert getting his first decision of the year as he is still 0-0 through 4 starts. However with the game tied in the bottom of the 9th Cooper Hummel who has been red hot cracked a game winning RBI single to cap off his 2 hit, 3 RBI day and the Mariners win this one in walk off fashion 4-3.

In the series finale Marco Gonzales continued his strong pitching as he went 7 inningts allowing 4 hits, 0 runs and 10 strikeouts. The star of the game would be Jarred Kelenic who had two home runs and drove in all 3 runs for the Mariners. Paul Sewald would get the save his 6th in 7 chances. The Mariners would win the game 3-1. Gonzales now moves to 2-1 on the season.

After the game we spoke to coach Legend and got his thoughts on the team as they starting to heat up. He had this to say "Really it started with moving Jarred to the lead off spot, Letting Cooper play more and Teoscar heating up. Starting pitching has been strong all season as the averages start to come up we will win more games"

In Milwaukee rumors are swirling that Craig Counsell could be out very soon. The Brewers were considered to battle the Cards for the division title and be in the playoff mix. Right now sitting at 5-14 in April is not a good start. We will monitor this closely

Next up the Mariners (11-8) close out their home stand by welcoming in the Cardinals (9-10)

            AL West Standings
            Angels 12-7
            Mariners 11-8
            A's 11-8
            Astros 9-10
            Rangers 8-10

Re: MLB The Show 23 Franchise Mode Discussion

I finally got started on my Mets franchise after the latest roster update. I was planning on just playing a few spring training games to get my timing right and simming the rest and rolling with basically the same team the Mets broke camp with to start the season plus the injured players, but Francisco Alvarez is doing better than expected so I’m considering starting the season with him making the team. My only hesitation is he’d only start vs lefties and I hate the idea of him not playing every day

I know what you mean I'm not a fan of platooning top prospects.

We swept the Nationals. Matt Olson is unconscious right now. He batted .571 with five homers and nine RBIs in the series. He's the very early leader for NL MVP.

Anyone else seeing lack of injuries? I had 3 injuries in 3 straight games (no IL needed) at the beginning of my franchise and I’ve seen 2 since I’m now almost half way through June

Opening day featured a matchup of the two reigning Cy Young award winners and it was the pitchers duel everyone expected. Verlander pitched 7 shutout innings and Sandy Alcantara pitched 7 2/3 shutout innings before surrendering a solo home run to Brandon Nimmo on his 105th pitch of the day. That was all the scoring the Mets would need as Edwin Diaz would close the door on a 1-0 Mets victory

This year I’ve seen two injuries in about 20 games. Both on CPU team, none for me. But I am still in Spring Teaining where I know it’s tuned down. Once I get to regular season if I don’t have some I’ll tinker with injury slider.

Yea my Show experience injuries have always been too few. That’s why in the past I’ve always if someone got hurt even if it’s day to day I put them on the DL. If it was a DL injury then I’d 60 day them just to have some injuries.

42-23 with the cubs. Brennen Davis is hitting like .360 since i called him up. I recently called up Matt Mervis and my whole team got a power surge. Mervis started off 0-13 but his last 2 games he has 3 homers and 2 doubles. I just hit 7 home runs (season high) against the Giants to win 14-4.

As I start my Franchise, even though I set all control features to Manual, when I begin at Spring Training the CPU has already made changes to my 40-man roster!?! Anyone know a workaround??
