As I start my Franchise, even though I set all control features to Manual, when I begin at Spring Training the CPU has already made changes to my 40-man roster!?! Anyone know a workaround??

Try going into Mode Specific and make sure 40 man and Roster Control are set to manual

Rockies fall victim to Pirates streak

The Pittsburgh Pirates winning streak now sits at 11 after a complete dismantling of the Colorado Rockies in their three game series.

Pittsburgh tied their highest run total of the year with a game one 8-0 victory. Mitch Keller pitched a complete game shut out while allowing just five hits.

The rest of the series continued to go down hill for Colorado as they finally hit rock bottom in game three as Pittsburgh's offense could not be stopped. The Pirates totaled 25 hits in game three alone. Seven of those hits were homeruns (Reynolds 3, Cruz 2, McCutchen 1 and Rodriguez 1). JT Brubaker also had his own complete game despite it not being a shut out.

The Pirates will now look to continue their early season hot start as they return home to face the Cincinnati Reds (5-14).

**After that game, I am also moving hitting difficulty up to Legend so I'll be at legend/legend.

Just finished the first full month of baseball with my Astros (30 team control franchise).

We are currently tied for first in the AL West with the Angels. Our record is 19-10. After a pretty rough start (we began our first 12 games with a 6-6 record), we have been 13-4 since then and things feel like they have been back on the right track.

Jose Altuve has been playing like an MVP at the plate this season. He is currently hitting .336 with 10 home runs and 20 RBIs. Yordan Alvarez struggled early on the year but has since then raised his level of play to a .278 average with 8 home runs and 17 RBIs. The real surprises at the plate have been Jeremy Peña and Chad McCormick. Peña just can’t get anything going. He is currently hitting .158 with only 1 home run and 3 RBIs. Thankfully, Chas McCormick has completely picked up his slack. He is hitting an impressive .368 so far with 6 home runs and 13 RBIs.

On the mound, our rotation has been up and down. Valdez, Urquidy, and Javier currently have a ~3.00 ERA. Valdez currently posting a 5-1 record. Luis Garcia and Lance McCullers have ERAs above 4.00… which isn’t HORRIBLE, but it hasn’t put them in many positions to get wins.

Coming into the season our biggest strength was our bullpen and they have lived up to every single bit of it. Neris, Montero, and Bryan Abreu all have ERAs in the 1.00s. Maton, Stanek, and Pressley all have ERAs in the 2.00s. Our two biggest weaknesses have been Seth Martinez and Blake Taylor, each having ERAs above 4.00. But they are such little time on the mound that it doesn’t really hurt us too much.

We’ll be looking to take control of our division this month. Look for some possible moves from the minors to help bring in a little more depth. Two names to look out for are Hunter Brown and Will Wagner. Brown has been absolutely lights out on the mound at AAA so far. And Will Wagner has been raking in AAA at the plate. He could look to potentially get some time at SS if Peña continues to struggle. Pedro Leon is another possibility in the outfield. He hasn’t really hit the ball well enough in AAA though to pull the trigger.

Cardinals split series with Royals in St.Louis

The Cardinals (35-22) split the I-70 two game series with the Royals at Busch Stadium. The Cardinals lead on the Cubs is 2 games currently.

The Cardinals won the series opener as Adam Wainwright (5-3) earned his 200th win of his career. Tyler O'Neill was the offense getting 3 hits in 4 at-bats and driving home 3. Lars Nootbaar added a pair of hits as well and Tommy Edman stole his 15th base of the season which is tied for 5th in the majors.

On Wednesday the Cardinals just couldn't get the bats going as the bullpen took the loss when Bobby Witt drove home 2 in the Top of the 7th off of Andre Pallante to push across the go-ahead and eventual winning runs.

Paul Goldschmidt's hitting streak ended this series at 20 games.

The Cardinals will now travel to Pittsburgh for a 3 game weekend series with the Pirates.

Cardinals swept by Pirates in Pittsburgh over the weekend

The Cardinals (35-25) were swept by the Pirates in Pittsburgh over the weekend in a 3 game series. The sweep now drops the Cardinals lead over the Cubs to 1 game.

It was an ugly series. Jack Flaherty fell to (6-4) on the season as he lost on Friday night as the Pirates knocked him around and out of the game after 4 innings. Miles Mikolas suffered his first loss (9-1) on the season Saturday as the Pirates got to him early and knocked him out in the 5th. On Sunday, Dakota Hudson appeared to right the ship but the bullpen would blow up and lose a 4 run lead in the final 5 outs as the Pirates came back from 7-3, to win 9-7.

The series also saw Lars Nootbaar head back to the IL with a back injury. He's expected to miss about 2 weeks.

The Cardinals will travel to Texas for a 3 game series with the AL West leading Rangers starting Monday night.

Lars Nootbaar is back on the IL this time due to a back issue. He'll likely miss 2 weeks of action. Nootbaar who is hitting just .202 on the season, had been playing better after returning from a stint down in Memphis. He was 6 for 15 in his return with 2 RBI's and 2 doubles.

The Cardinals elected to recall Chris Stratton from Memphis to deepen the bullpen back to 8 arms after a month of only using 7. With the recent struggles of the pitching staff, another arm is sorely needed at this point.

Cardinals drop series to Rangers in Texas

The Cardinals (36-27) dropped 2 games of a 3 game series against the Rangers in Arlington. The Cardinals are now just 1/2 game up on the Cubs in the NL Central.

The Cardinals won the series opener Monday night, but it was downhill from there. Jordan Montgomery had to leave in the 3rd inning of his start on Tuesday due to a strained finger and that put the bullpen in a bad spot the rest of the series giving how taxed they've been the past week or so. Jack Flaherty pitched well on Wednesday night, but lost 2-0 on two solo shots by Corey Seager as Jacob deGrom shut down the Cardinals bats with 14 strikeouts thru 8 innings.

Offensively the Cardinals are struggling, outside of Paul Goldschmidt and Nolan Arenado. There is no consistentcy amongst the other 7 bats in the lineup. Couple that with a bullpen that is taxed and shaky and the Cardinals are struggling to find ways to win ballgames.

The Cardinals get a much needed off day Thursday as they head home to face the Reds for a 3 game weekend series.

Jays Franchise on my OLED looks like this: 56-31 record with three games to go before the ASB. All three games are against the Detroit Tigers. We're coming off a series loss against the White Sox, with the only win in that series being the middle game, which was started by Kevin Gausman. 9-2 Toronto was the final in that win. Game 1 of that series saw us take a 1-0 lead into the bottom of the seventh, only for Alek Manoah to be dealt a loss after surrendering a three run shot to Elvis Andrus in the bottom of the 7th. In the rubber game, we had an early 2-0 lead, but three solo homers by Chicago (two by Tim Anderson) propelled the south siders to a 3-2 win. We have Berrios, Soroka (trade acquisition from Atlanta) and Manoah going for us in the three games

Diamondbacks Open Season taking 3 out of 4 from the Dodgers in LA

With my AL Franchise Mariners almost done with the first month now is a good time to get my NL franchise started.

The Diamondbacks thinking they could very well compete for a wild card spot this year got off to a strong start going into Los Angeles and knocking off the division favorites 3 out of 4

Game 1 (Zac Gallen vs Julio Urias)
Nick Ahmed would open the scoring with a solo homerun (1) in the second inning for an early 1-0 lead. Chris Taylor would quickly tie the game with an RBI double in the third. Trayce Thompson would get an RBI single in the 4th to give the Dodgers a 2-1 lead. Urias would seem to lose it in the 5th as he would give up a game tying home run to Jake McCarthy (1) to tie it. Then after a couple walks and RBI Double to Evan Longoria, RBI Double to Kyle Lewis (who was 3-4 on the day), and a 2 run home run to Corbin Carroll (1) and just like that he was out of the game down 6-2. Gallen would part after 6 and things would get a little dicey in the 8th as Miguel Rojas would hit a 2 run double to cut the lead to 6-4. But in the 9th would two on and two out Andrew Chafin game in for closer Kevin Ginkel and was able to get Freddie Freeman to fly out and secure the win for Arizona 6-4

Game 2- (Merrill Kelly vs Clayton Kershaw)
Game would be scoreless until the 4th when Jake McCarthy would hit an RBI double to get the scoring started. That followed by a Lourdes Gurriel rbi single in the 5th got Arizona out to a 2-0 lead. The Dodgers would start to work their way back in the fifth. Evan Longoria would make two errors in the inning both on ground balls that would have turned double plays and that sllowed 1 run to score and kept the inning alive to allow Max Muncy the chance to rip a 2 run single to give the Dodgers the 3-2 lead. The D-Backs would tie the game 3-3 in the 8th on a clutch RBI single by Jake McCarthy. That would hold until the bottom of the 10th when Max Muncy would hit the first pitch he saw for a 2 run blast and the walkoff Dodgers win 5-3.

Game 3- (Madison Bumgarner vs Tony Gonsolin)
Arizona would do all of its damage in the 3rd inning. Corbin Carroll, Jake McCarthy, and Lourdes Gurriel all had RBI singles, Add in a Christian Walker sac fly and it was quickly 4-0 D Backs. Mookie Betts would get LA on the board with a solo HR in the 4th. That score would hold until the 8th when Arizona would pick up another run on a bases loaded walk. Madison Bumgarner looked like the pitcher of hold going 8 strong innings striking out 7 giving up 5 hits and only 1 run. Arizona wins 5-1

LP- Tony Gonsolin (0-1)

Game 4- (Zach Davies vs Walker Buehler)
DBacks got a sac ground out in the third from Corbin Carroll. A 2 run home run from Christian Walker (1) in the 5th to extend to a 3-0 lead. Trayce Thompson would answer with an RBI single in the 5th to cut the lead to 3-1. But the Diamondbacks pitching staff was strong today and would hold on to the lead and the 3-1 win. The win gives the DBacks the series win

Next up the Diamondbacks (3-1) welcome in the Padres (2-1) for 3 games.

It’s still there. You have to go into your settings (3 clicks) and put into manual and set your injuries.

First road trip is done. My Braves are 6-0.

I felt hitting was a bit too easy on All-Star, even with the timing slider at 0, so I moved up to default HOF and restarted. I'm still hitting really well, though not as many homers. We're hitting .303 as a team with 11 homers so far. But Olson and Ozuna have 10 of those homers (Riley has the other one).

And while Olson and Ozuna are crazy hot right now (Olson is at .480 with 6 HRs and 15 RBIs, Ozuna is over .400 with 4 HRs and 10 RBIs), Acuna (.222), Harris (.200) and Albies (2-for-21) have done virtually nothing. They've combined for three RBIs.

W, 10-5

Strasburg actually pitched well against us in the opener, but we teed off on the bullpen. That's been a bit of a trend.

Cardinals

W, 7-1

The majority of our runs came in the last three innings against the Cardinals. Wainwright completely shut us down in the first game before we got to the bullpen. And we had a 4-run 8th in the second game to blow open what had been a really good game.

We have a 2.83 ERA, but pitching on HOF with Classic and no marker has been a ton of fun. I'm walking more batters than I ever have.

I'm not starting over again, so I'm just going to stick it out on default HOF and hope my offense balances out a bit. The Padres should be a good test.
