Re: Too many strikeouts
It’s fine. I’m competitive and have a great variety of games.
The good thing is you can hit on a different difficulty and pitch on legend if need be

Re: Too many strikeouts
Has this ruined the game for some of you!?
I can't help but notice it how many strikeouts there are now, and it's frustrating to experience.
I'm still holding out hope they finally release a patch with some gameplay/balancing updates, but how do you have 14 patches and not address it at all.
What are y'all thoughts on this topic still?
I also hit on HOF and pitch on Legend. I may change my hitting to Legend since I have been hitting a little too well lately, I just feel like I don’t have as much power on legend and my power guys turn out useless.Comment

Re: Too many strikeouts
Just out of curiosity I played legend default on casual settings…totally fixes strikeout issue…also not seeing overblown powerups you’d think would be on a casual setting. Game changer for me. Legend default…casual mode plays better than sim mode no doubt.
I saw a thread about how the CPU is striking out a lot, is anyone themselves striking out a lot? I play on pure analog with the Phillies. Hall of Fame was too easy so I bumped to legend. I like the difficulty level, as I feel like I’m scoring an acceptable amount of runs. However I strikeout an insane amount (10-15x a game). Thing that frustrating is a lot of time I have good timing the PCI is just under or over the ball.
Just curious if anyone else experiences this or just me? Also curious of any slider suggestions to maybe allow me just to foul off a little bit more? I don’t want to up my average (8-10 hits a game), so I’m hesitate to touch the sliders, I just want to reduce the swings and misses.
Appreciate any input guys!
Thanks!Comment

Re: Too many strikeouts
I hit on All-Star (Directional) and Pitch on Legend (Classic). My sliders are all at 5 except Human Starter Stamina (7), Human Pitcher Control (2), CPU Power (6), CPU Starter Stamina (7), Fielding Errors Infield (7), Fielding Errors Outfield (6), Throwing Errors Infield (8), Baserunner Steal Frequency (10), and Gameplay Injury Frequency (7).
Strikeouts for the CPU are a tiny bit up (10 per game) over my last 5 games, but they're a lot more reasonable over the last 10 (9.1 per game) and 20 (9.6 per game). The overall CPU Contact and Miss rates are both well within the range you'd expect to see from a major league team. Their contact rate is a little low (53.3% over the last 20 games), but they're chase rates are also really low (only 24% over the last 29 games).
My personal strike outs are also in range, but on the low end of the range. But that's mostly due to the fact that I am too aggressive on pitches in the zone.

Re: Too many strikeouts
It's still broken, it doesn't matter what you do with the level of difficulty or the sliders, Trout will continue swinging 100 miles outside the strike zone, it's a shame, I don't understand why they touch on that kind of thing from one edition to the next, they should be sued. I don't expect them to fix it.Comment

Re: Too many strikeouts
My team strikeout numbers for 3 seasons playing every single game on default All Star+ with classic pitching and no aids (visual aids like the ball marker or controller vibration).
Season 1: 1420
Season 2: 1415
Season 3: 1434
If we just divide those by 162 games, that gives us a rough estimate of strikeouts/9 (albeit, an OVER estimation)
Season 1: 8.77
Season 2: 8.73
Season 3: 8.85 (I'll add that through 42 games in Season 4, my average is the same as Season 3)
The league average in real life MLB is 8.7 K/9 and our numbers (which are OVER-estimated) have been spot-on to that in over 500 games played.Play the games you love, not the games you want to love.Comment

Re: Too many strikeouts
The biggest problem is the game has changed and some are having a hard time adjusting to that……including myself.
In 1950 the Ave K per game was 3.86 and the batting Ave was .266
1970 the K was 5.75 and BA .254
1990 the K was 5.67 and BA .256
2010 the K was 7.06 and BA .257
2023 the K was 8.61 and BA .248
I don’t like where the game is headed but there is more emphasis on the long ball and less on making contact.
I do wish they would tone down the K’s in the game but they have done a good job of copying the real game.🇺🇸 58,281 🇺🇸Comment

Re: Too many strikeouts
If this makes it to trial please someone share when and where because I’ve got to see the arguments of this case

But when this is the first year ever I've experienced it. And others are experiencing it. This wasn't just some anamoly with MLB 23. I think everyone should be able to agree that SOMETHING is wrong when this thread is STILL going after the baseball season is over.
They did something to cause it. And the worst part is that they won't fix it. This is the new normal for this series. Therefore, I'm never able to purchase and enjoy the game like I did MLB 22 and prior years.
