Re: Has something changed in hitting?

I play all star with power slider ticked up one on both human/CPU. Once I stopped paying attention to the timing feedback and started playing ball, the results of the bat are fine. I even hit a 488 foot HR last night in target field.

I think it’s important to determine if people are playing on simulation or competitive. If it’s on simulation then things like vision and contact are going to have a huge effect on results off the bat even with perfect timing. Especially with timing or directional where the user doesn’t control PCI and it is 100% based on attributes

Wait a minute! Is that what everyone is playing too? I’m competitive? This could be the reason. Gonna play a few games and report back.

Maybe it's just me, but I do feel something happened on the back end where they tweaked it a little. Does anyone have any insight on the patches to see if it may have affected the hitting at all?
I struggle with homers as well. I increase the wind slider up when the wind is blowing out and decrease it when its out. Wind seems like a huge determinent IMO.

That’s interesting too. Balls where I feel I crushed it making a solid contact like a high fastball be traveling like a wiffle ball.

It's a lot of weak grounder and fly balls.

I'm hesitant to drip past all star as the pitching just leaves a lot to be desired as far as sequencing and disguise.

But I'll give it a shot.

So went down a level and then another. Turned off all feedback for pitch and swing.

No drastic change. Still mostly weak grounder and fly balls.

Did share one up for one I knew was a HR off the bat but that was only one that was solid on rookie.

I finally decided to try the clean screen thing and I like it. The only thing I left on is strike zone and the final pitch location info. I turned everything else off and I do like not being concerned with the timing graphic anymore.

I feel like I'm getting better results. I turned off commentary and I judge how well I've made contact by the sound of the ball off the bat. It all just feels way more natural.

I sure hop it's back. Two ST Games this weekend, 25 total hits for me. 1 double that would have been an out if the throw was good. The rest singles...and 5 GIDP.

hey guys read thru the thread so with hitting does it matter between directional zone timing and the hit type buttons or analog. because i have restarted multiple franchises part of it is me not clicking with a team and the other part is the hitting. i love this game still one of the best baseball games make me wish they can do football and basketball but i remember reading before that hitting type also matter nows. what the overal on hitting

I don't know if you know how OOP works in coding, but unless they were tweaking gameplay itself, this is highly unlikely.

Anything regarding hitting and/or physics would be in a class, instance, object, or method in some sort of file that they just wouldn't have touched period.

Unless they did, and they just don't tell anything about it. Nothing would be accidental in a case like this, though.

EDIT: By the way, OOP stands for object-oriented programming. Didn't want you to think I was referring to Out of the Park Baseball, heh.

I originally thought there was a stealth change but I just seemed to hit a slump when the patch hit. The game plays good. There were no changes it’s in your head if you believe there is. I pray they don’t make any cause the game plays unbelievably good. 2K23 was fantastic at launch and then they screwed offline up. Plz don’t do this SDS

Ive played almost 40 games in my franchise and im coming to the conclusion, for me anyway, that hitting is broke. Ive tried everything. Moved up and down levels, moved sliders up/down, thought just ebbs and flows of the game. But after getting shutout twice in a 3 game series vs the orioles ive come to that conclusion. Ive been playing this game since 2008 and never had this much trouble hitting, nor have i been 40 games into a season still fiddling with sliders. Disappointing for sure because i have nothing left to try

I was just about to create a new thread but I saw this was active again so figured I would ask here.

But I myself have been having issues scoring runs in this game for the past 2 or so weeks. I can get the hits, averaging 10 a game it seems but I can’t score runs. I been losing my games 1-2 or 1-3 or 2-4. Pitching has been great for me. And like I said I can get hits and runners on bases but I just keep getting then pop outs or giving up double plays.

I use PCI for hitting, maybe I need to change it idk. I’m getting good hits and some the PCI is in a good spot but yeah I just can’t get anything
