Re: Has something changed in hitting?

I think it all depends on what mode you are playing. RTTS seems fine for the most part, unless the game starts chugging...

Online playing the computer is a mess. Perfect shots are not even making it to the warning track with Judge or Alvarez.....the most annoying thing is having to wait all day on an 83 mph change up and still being early....and then having an 83 mph curve by me before I can swing.....make it make sense! Pitch speeds just are not consistent. I wouldn't doubt if this is part of the problem with the power right now. Mostly early or late all the time and there is no adjusting.

Getting close to only playing RTTS from here on out....

I am surprised by this forum for this. They put notes in the patches and it said there are no gameplay changes. Not one person said this in this thread because I read them all.

You're doing something wrong, it is not your day to play the game, or it's in your head. Nothing has changed with the game besides the pitching and the perfect-perfects are better, that's it.

Slumps happen. Not every game is a blowout. One game will be 3-2, the next 13-3, it is just how it is.

I thought about it but I've also been around long enough to know that it would've just been brushed aside. There's no reason they'd tell us about a change to pitching but not hitting.

This is my sentiment exactly! Pitch speeds are all messed up. The timing window is ATROCIOUS as well.

Nope. My last post on the topic. I have been playing this game since it came out. Every year AS default sliders……zero problems out of the box. I played a couple dozen games and NOTHING. Weak CPU, tons of foul balls, Ks, weak hits, ZERO offense absolute punchless CPU, and I use timing hitting, classic pitching. I was ready to go back to ‘20 I was so shocked. There was no ebb and flow. I’m mature enough that I don’t belly ache at a few straight losses, NEVER go slider exploring. Something was wrong until this latest patch.

I have NO idea what tweak to a code affects another, but my first game post patch was SO different than what I experienced in a couple dozen games previously. It was a holy #hit moment. I had sent my objective concerns to SDS.

I have no answers, but what I was experiencing wasn’t a string of bad luck, etc. something changed.

            Anyway…..dead horse. Peace.

The typical d riders of this game assume that anyone going against the game are wrong. Don’t mind them. The patch most definitely changed the hitting.

Re: Has something changed in hitting?

Played four more games over the last couple days as the Guardians. Just like real life, not a lot of power. Only two home runs. But that is to be expected with my players ratings.

However, I won 3 of the 4 games. I scored 10 runs in the first game on 15 hits. Won 10-7. Mariners hit three home runs. Won game two 3-2. lost game three 5-4. So a nice mix of good pitching and hitting. Then I beat the A's 4-2. So my offense was pretty decent.

I use my personal sliders with contact and solid hits bumped up to 6, and foul frequency at 4.

This is also on All-star for hitting and pitching. For me this yields the best results. But obviously everyone's level of play and sliders will be different.

So take all this for what you will.

I’m not against the game, lol. Don’t mind them? I’ve been friends with most of these guys on this forum for a long time. So……

I've had exactly the opposite experience. Everything I hit before the last update was a line drive, it was uncanny and getting really annoying. Now I'm getting grounders and pop ups I wasn't getting before.

                        Did they re-patch it? Lol!
Was mini slumping for the last 6 games (14 runs with 3 one run games)... post "patch".
Just had a 12 run, 17 hit game with 5 homeruns. Game of streaks - final answer.

HOF directional hitting - only foul frequency at 0, default everywhere else.

I'm having a great time, enjoy!

Re: Has something changed in hitting?

There is definitely something off since the last patch. There are way way too many times when I’m green timed on a pitch right down the heart of the plate and make no contact.

Balls to the gap are few and far between now. I’m fine with having perfect perfect balls go for outs that’s baseball. But to have a good timed swing on a ball down the middle and not even make contact shows something is off.

Mostly been playing diamond dynasty offline on hof. I use timing hitting so bad pci placement isn’t a factor here; and this did not happen pre patch.

I’m assuming when they messed with the pitching timing it some how had an unforseen effect on hitting timing.

Even with all that though games have been close, it’s just frusturating when you have bases load and strike out on a three consecutive green timed swings

It also appears like a lot of pitches which were called balls are now strikes

I've gotta say, seeing these last two posts back to back is great. Very similar settings and very different reported results.

I wonder if the game just simulates hot/cold streaks and the ups and downs of baseball pretty well. No, that can't be it...

Tell me, how does perfect/perfect occasionally result in a weak pop out to shallow outfield?

I understand it could be a line out or even a deep fly out, but I've been playing The Show for YEARS and this is the first year where the result of perfect/perfect just makes absolutely no sense sometimes.

It's funny how it only happens to hitters that are on somewhat of a long hot streak. Gotta find some way to keep those averages around a boring .250 I guess.

PCI placement does matter for timing hitting. Just you don't have any input for it or can see it. The batters ratings matter for it.
