Well played another couple of games and STILL seeing the same issues. Weak contact no home runs…with good timing on my swings while hitting with GREAT HITTERS….same thing for the CPU. Idk anymore.Hard to really gauge anything when everyone just argues that the other side is wrong 😂. But whatever

Re: Has something changed in hitting?
One thing I noticed off the jump with this years game is that if you’re using timing or directional hitting input, the power swing, normal swing, and contact swing seem to have a bigger impact on exit velo than in years past. I’ve tested in practice and with Jose Ramirez, the avg exit velo on a perfect contact was 105 mph. With a power swing I was pushing 110, a normal swing was producing about 108, and on contact swings it was like 100 to 102 mph.
On good contact I noticed a contact swing was producing an exit velo between 75 - 85 mph, 85 - 95 mph on a normal swing, and 95 - 105 mph on a power swing.
Take that as you will. It was just 1 hitter on default HOF timing input, but that was probably an hour worth of time spent focusing solely on squaring up a fastball down the middle with each swing type.Comment

Re: Has something changed in hitting?
I know in my experience of using power swing this year…the timing window for a power swing is very minuscule. If you don’t time your swing well you’ll be either very early or very lateComment

Re: Has something changed in hitting?
I've never been able to use the power swing, for the exact same reason. I always feel like I'm late. Not sure if that's by design or just my perception but my success rate with it is about 0. I gave up on it about 5 years ago.Comment

lol same exact thingComment

Re: Has something changed in hitting?
I actually went down to HOF from Legend + pitching since the patch. I was striking out guys like crazy and hardly giving up any hits. Now, I'm walking more guys (CPU chases less) and I'm noticing A LOT more bloop hits.
I'm' actually okay with this - only wish I could still score runs like I used to.

Re: Has something changed in hitting?
I always use normal swing but I also use the PCI zone hitting. Maybe I should look into directional hitting as I see most here seem to use thatComment

Re: Has something changed in hitting?
Yeah, it definitely is high risk high reward. I use it in certain scenarios with guys who have “pop”. Mainly first pitch, or any hitters count where the situation warrants it. Later in games I rarely use it as I’m trying to rally. But I’ve found success with it in 3-1 counts or when you’re 3-5 hole hitter is up with 2 outs and nobody on. The CPU tends to not dance around the hitter in that situation. They will throw a 3-1 change up however.Comment

Re: Has something changed in hitting?
Everything is weak now. Majority of the time I make contact is weak or okay. I use timing hitting and something has changed since launched. Makes the game unenjoyable now and I was having a ton of fun.Comment

Re: Has something changed in hitting?
After the patch it was dang near perfect first game I played. Got my butt handed to me. Now, every game has been a gas. The difference is night and day (default sliders AS) So……what’s going on? I just don’t get it anymore. The extremes are dumbfounding. I don’t know if there’s an answer. (no offense to you, just a mystery)Comment

Re: Has something changed in hitting?
Haven't been on here for a few years, but I did hit a slump the last 4-5 games so came on for this specific thread. Thinking more on it, I do think it is put into the game maybe.
I play on almost default HOF hitting, meter Legend pitching...
Playing with Angels first 5 games of franchise hit like crap, started a different franchise and switched to all star and killed the ball...
Decided to just grind the HOF season and got hot for like 7-8 games.
Now back on a downswing... went from like 15-20 team hitting rankings first 5 games to 1st-5th next 10 games and back in the middle again.
I'm just embracing it and think it's going to be awesome in the end and work itself out.
I agree it feels different, but it's just the slump I think... loving the game more than ever this year!Comment

Re: Has something changed in hitting?
Human contact and power sliders definitely need to be bumped a bit in this year's game. Maybe even solid hits as well.
Before tweaking the sliders everything felt and sounded like a weak foul tip.Comment

Couldn’t agree more. Makes the game play terribleComment
