I actually am interested in the matt mcclain card...assume it'll have good defense/speed/contact and probably 100's power. He was one of my best fantasy pickups this year so I'm now loyal to him.

I'm totally biased against him as he's been stuck in AAA purgatory in my Reds franchise - and I am already in the 2026 season. His swing is pretty flat (in-game) and I don't know that he'll get a high enough power rating to compensate. He'll likely be a line-drive guy with warning track power (vs RHP) but he may be more usable vs LHP.

It's all going to depend on how much SDS decides to juice these cards (and I'm not optimistic tbh).

I think it depends entirely on if there's packs or collections. Usually they juice the hell out of finest regardless of if the stats match the season.

Like there's no shot finest trout is anywhere near the milestone version. There's so many players with amazing seasons that weren't listed. Granted, I expect some to be online rewards but even that will be in the same vein as packs/collections.

I'm actually intrigued by this drop. And fully prepared to be disappointed when the best versions of Olson and Acuna are locked behind time/paywall.

I'm curious what they are doing with Captains in this TA.

I know they are not "sexy" but they haven't said anything and the fact that at least 3 Finest players have TA4 Captain cards (for the same team) makes me wonder if they're going to do something different here....

I can understand them having an "oops" with one card...but 3??

Yeah that's a great question. I still suspect Set 6 will have like "All-Time Captains" or something that boost all team cards but this is a big question for Set 5. If the Captains are more run of the mill, generic cards that aren't exciting enough to use let alone Captain it wouldn't surprise me.

Yeah, but what I was getting at was that at least three teams will be in a situation where you will not be able to use their TA5 Finest card and the team's season-eligible Captain.

I skimmed thru at work on my ps4 but jesus ps4 is sooooo slow to navigate through plus i'm sure the servers were getting worked.

I've been running the 99 durability team in ranked and they may have nerfed that a bit. Seems like most the 99 durability guys in set 5 already have max contact so it doesn't really boost them (like j rollins).

So I'll have to see how many guys I have from set 4 and set 5 there. I feel like they could have juiced some of these guys up a bit more....like for albies to be a core collection (which core doesn't really mean anything anymore) I don't think his card is that good...it's fine but better options IMO.

Still surprised there is no kyle tucker or corbin carroll anywhere.

Was also disapointed with jake peavy...I feel they could really boost his H9/BB9 and make him a pinpoint pitcher. He has a good pitch mix and is a new face but he will likely get demolished in all star/hof.

It's a okay drop but doesn't get me as excited/motivated as set 1 and set 3 did. I already have the million dollar trout but the new trout/jram/elly/etc are inferior cards (by a large margin) to earlier releases

I see I haven't missed much. Same stuff, different season. I do like the 10 inning vouchers for TA though. Nice touch!

I like the goal tweaks for captains in TA. Ks and TBs instead of IP (which don’t count correctly if you have partial innings in a game) and HRs or XBH should make that grind a bit easier.

Disappointed to see no TA captains this time around, though. That was a nice touch last season.

I need like 6 points to get darvish in br then I think I'll knock out the ta moments and showdown to see where it gets me.

I also haven't started on adolis card so I'll have to do that before the world series program which kind've sucks.

The 99 core seager fits in durability team so not sure if his unboosted ws card will be any better.

Sold off all my core cards cause I don't really care about albies and still needed like 18 more cards so I'm now up to 1.8m stubs

Got all the TA moments done and knocked out the two showdowns. Have enough dudes to start knocking out Captain missions in the conquest maps.

Feels weird actually being caught up and working on the current content haha. I go back to work Tuesday so we'll see if they release anything meaningful aside from world series stuff. I'm going to try and actually grind out TA and then maybe start BR/Ranked for the first time all year. Just don't know if I'll have the time

Knocked out the NL map and working on the AL. I do love how much shorter all this stuff is. It doesn't feel like an absolute slog. Although I made the mistake of thinking all pitchers were 10 K's for Captains haha. Didn't realize RP had a shorter number and CP had 2 Saves. Am I the only one that hates CP being a designated position in this game? I feel like it's not even relevant to how baseball works anymore and it just bugs me but I'm probably a psycho.

I think once the AL map is done, I'm just going to do some CPU slugfests for a bit and see how far that gets me. The 10 IP online earning progress is also super appealing but we'll see.

Welp, my idiotic butt dove into the new season. I'm 2 months behind in general LOL.

I got all the Mets cards I've missed out on. Even 10 event wins to get Wright.

I've done both TA5 Maps/Showdowns. Now I'm just gonna play catch up, doing all moments from last 2 months, starting with set 4 cards and work way backwards. Then see where I want to go.

SIGH LOL... Between this and Fortnite I've been having some fun and that's all that matters.

Played a decent amount Saturday and finally knocked out the Extreme Conquest plus Marte's hit mission (and Wagner's mission is nearly done). Unlocked Piazza and have begun on his mission. I'll soon begin an Extreme Mini Season. I'm also going to back-track through old content (as far back as the WBC program, lol) to get cards that I want for some theme team ideas.

I've basically ignored TA5 up to this point. I'm annoyed that they reduced the Conquest games/maps (I'll never understand REDUCING the amount of content for players), I'm annoyed that they removed the TA Captains (which I can sorta understand), and the rewards don't excite me all that much.

Nonetheless, enjoying what I am doing....marching to one's own tune with this mode is probably the best way to go...

just released 2 of the 3 BR rewards and wouldnt ya know it more repeats ugh .. you know that Adley isnt going to be as good as the collection one .. i hate all these repeats .. set 6 is just going to be us trying to figure out which card of a certain player we want to use out of like the 3 different options its annoying
