Re: What Are You Working On? - MLB The Show 23 Edition

Got Topps Now moments done and running a split squad of TN/Kaiju program cards in the Kaiju map to attack both. Up to Spahn in the program and have a couple teams left to finish that map.

Honestly kinda overwhelmed with the offline stuff now in terms of catching up. No where close to finishing TA 1. All the new TA stuff is there plus the new maps that have dropped. Great for offline grinding to have stuff to do but I just feel so far behind that I don't see the light at the end of the tunnel to follow through on wanting to play online.

Event rewards have been brutal and the no sell rewind packs aren't that enticing. So BR/Ranked sounds more appealing and running Co-Op Ranked sounds better than anything.

    Am I officially old?

I keep trying to use mcgwire 99 and he is just terrible

I think it's cause he puts his foot down way before he actually swings, it's weird if you replay his swing

Started using mickey in the event I think in 2 for 6...he had a perfect perfect sac fly at shea that didn't even make it to the track 🙄

Trying to win while also getting ta progress in the event. Tonight during the hockey game think I'll finish the negro league stuff and maybe chip away at Mexican moments

Got the first boss pack but not sure on mo or utley yet. Prob take utkey since I'm not playing ranked for a while and I think I can use Utley in this event to see if I'm any good with him

If you don’t mind possibly losing a lot, I’m pretty much planning on playing the rest of the day if you want to try some co-op. I think you’re already on my Xbox friend list.

I would have been down but I was out and about with the girlfriend and we just got home. Gonna be heading to bed soon.

Definitely wanna plan on some Co-op at some point if you're down, though? VV if you wanna jump in too honestly I think we'd do ok. I'd be more interested in just playing some laid back games and grinding the program honestly. I've barely played online all year so my timing is whack.

I'll post in here a day I think I have some time in front of me to play online. Work and life is just insane right now.

Yeah I’m down. Today’s given me a little bit of confidence, I’ve gone 6-1 in ranked and just beat someone that was 16-3. I’ve been trying a McGwire tier 3 lineup and have been scoring a bunch. Ozzie with 82/88 power is a menace. I’ll have a lot more time to play in a couple weeks when school’s done.

Finished the BR program (well, to the reward) and got Verlander. I’ll try him tomorrow in the event. I can’t hit with Frank and Longo seemed unnecessary since I have Chipper and Chapman I still haven’t used so the choice was easy. Still bummed it’s no sale, because I’d be probably one team away from completing live series.

BR went pretty quick and painless. Had one really good run that included an insane game where I won 15-0 with my opponent quitting with 1 out in the 2nd. It was the only reason I got the 4K xp and 40 hits in a run done so it saved a bunch of time. I have never been that locked in during a game before. I just saw the ball really well and read my opponent perfectly and barreled everything.

Now I have a ton of offline grinding to do and maybe events. I want to get Seager from the core collection but I have a lot of the Mexico City program left and all of the negro leagues.

I can't get the stupid moment in tops done against Atlanta using Bassitt. Heck, I can't even get past the 1st inning. Ronald, Riley, Olson one of those jerks always gets a hit no matter what I throw. I hate playing against my favorite team they are pissing me off lol.

I thought the post and finish it thing was gonna work........walked the last damn batter lol

Pulled Kaiju Harper last night and sold him and cashed in a couple of the packs I was sitting on to get over 300k. Still feel conflicted about finishing live series.

All I've heard is McGwire has a bad swing and he'd be a permanent DH anyway. I was never a Jeter fan but something about having him in the game finally makes getting him for SS feel good but there's plenty of cards I enjoy using already that could fill SS. Plus I absolutely raked with his lower diamond at launch so he definitely has a great swing.

Getting those collection cards doesn't really move the needle on the Core collection for me so that's not any incentive.

With Judge, Trout, Ohtani and DeGrom as the remaining cards I'd basically be resetting my stub count after buying two of them. The payoff doesn't feel as strong this year.

Chipper will be my wild card all year so there's not really any reason to go after set 1 or 2 cards that are elite when he'll be taking that spot for me.

Gonna do some more offline stuff today with the little bit of time I have. Maybe the Harper pull is a good omen that I'll get some pack luck for a bit.

They 100% need to make collection cards end game, or close to it. I'm not even talking the big guys, but each team should have an unreal card from collecting that team.

Mcgwire is definetly worse card in the history of the game, no debate

Sosa and Jeter I don't think I'll be taking out of the lineup all year tho. Jeter gets ridiculous defense animations and his power plays up.

Sosa power prob plays down a little bit but he's super good and great defense.

That Bassitt moment sucked (a...vs Atlanta is never fun and also, Bassitt's pitch mix blows). I finally got it once I started throwing mainly 4-seamers and abandoned stinkers.

                            (hopefully you eventually got it)
