.- record "the sound of the names" for all AAA, AA, A players on DVD media, so that when a roster upgrade or a new player is created the batter annuncer in the game could say their name instead of the "at bat number XX". I'm not sure what is the space remaining on the DVD but certanly a good thing to have.

I like your idea romanahd, I tried something similar with a CD i have a copy of the"1956" All Star Game and tried to put their announced names in where the music space was offered, for 2K5 World series but I couldn't get it to work?

At the risk of sounding like a broken record, "Text To Speech Synthesizers" would solve the name problem.
You type in any name and the computer will announce it.

They might be able to pull off something like this with the "Next Generation Systems", it's getting more realistic on every other level, why can't 989 add announced name recognition to their Ruperta.

This would put us in the game!

        for onlinne play
        ===========

.- Image this, online play gathers people all over the world, we're talking about high level competence. So you think you are really good twith the NYY or Boston always facing each and every other team with the same Pitcher over and over !!! That's no fun ... Make it more real , more competitive by keeping what pitchers each player has used before for each game including relivers. I.E. Let say that NYY against Boston in the 1st game I use Randy J. agains C Schilling game over all fine , then in a second game if I chosse to play again with NYY this time vs Boltimore, If I choose to play as NYY player I need to select a new starter other than R J (I have to wait for at least 4 games (in a five man rotation) to be able to select him again). In other words have a user profile that keeps record of which team a user has played with and for each team the status of all pitchers that has been used and wether or not it can be use on the next start.

.- Disable the use of starting pitcher as a reliver ... make the player go to the bullpen (reliever) to finish a game (not to choose another starter to close the game).

The MLB franchise is definitely one of my favorite games, as nothing gets me more into the Major League season than playing through it as well. I'm sure at this time you've addressed many of the small gameplay bugs and inconsistencies, so I just want to request a couple things regarding rosters. It would be nice to have a greater amount of customizable appearances in CAP mode. The physics of the CAP's was great last year, but appearances were just not up to par at all. Some expanded face options to make the created players look on par with the real ones would be appreciated. I'd also like to request that the rosters you edit could be used in all game modes, and that the ratings could adapt a number system as opposed to just a bar to be more easily manageable. I realize the lengths you go to to provide the gaming community with frequent roster updates, which is appreciated by all (it shows that you care about your customers) , but I don't have online access for my PS2 and do my rosters manually. Keep of the good work and thanks for your time!

Good post Grasshopper, how would you and others like it if 989 offered something like what ASB 2005 offered, and that was when you edited or created a player, you had a
choice of faces taken from all the players in the major leagues. I had no trouble
finding any face I was looking for, and I put together legends from yesterday, so I was busy. The bottom line is the end result was a "REAL LOOKING LOOK-A-LIKE"

I also think it would be good if they scanned regular people, and use these scans for edit and create-a-player. I think if your looking for real looking faces this could be an option.
Also for legends have a contest for legend look-a-likes then Scan the winners. I think the end result is number one it looks like a real person, and number two it looks like lets say Ted Williams, I think that with the new high resolution systems around the corner ( PS3)
real scans are going to be a necessity.

I think that would be a great idea. I like Madden's CAP mode because you can cycle through the 250 some true scan faces and usually match a good one up to the man you are making. They give more options than Generic face 1-12.

As we look ahead into the future, we all know there's still plenty of things still left to do in this, the best baseball simulation ever made. In the offseason we still need more depth. We MUST have options to offer NO TRADE CLAUSES in major league contracts. [Positive] This should influence a free agent's decision to sign, or resign with a team. [Negative] It can hurt your franchise, whenever you need to dump salary, or rebuild. Also, based on the player's emotions, state of the franchise, or the team's standings, a player would have the right to activate, or waive his no trade clause. How about taking a player to arbitation, if the player loses, he'll play with a chip on his shoulder. If he wins, it will boost up his morale. A team, or player's, option on a contact would be cool to offer as well. How about some hot stove rumors during the off season. Virtual pre- and- post game shows. All star weekend festivities in franchise mode. A list of players who will explore the free agent market, before the free agency period.( This will better prepare me on, who to go after aggressively, by looking at which players have filed for free agency). Pitch sequences after critical at bats. MORE NOISE from the crowd ( I wanna feel like i'm there). Also, more animations from the crowd ( I wanna see people moving around, jumping up and down after a big hit, or a big K, cut scenes of the crowd, and vendors). One or two highlights of other games in between innings, highlights of my game, in game , and post game. (Wow, imagine that), Hey, ya never know. After a player comes off the disabled list, why not have him rehab in minor league games, to help him reach 100% health. Real managers, and pitching coaches. I want a real type scouting system, with scouting reports, and tendencies. In career mode, let's throw a virtual story mode on the player's career, just like NBA '06 The Life. (That'll be hot!). I have a lot more ideas, but time is short. I've read all of your cool suggestions, I just want to know what you guys think of mine.

Re: Official MLB 2007 - Wishlist

I decided to copy and paste this over from another thread here just in case any developers missed it. You never know!!

The only reason I can think of why they left out all this variable weather is space on disc. Once the PS3 is out I'm sure we will see a whole new game. Nevermind the graphics, it should have more variety of hits and everything. I would love to see these things you guys mention too. I would absolutley love to see variable things in the game, but honestly if the game doesn't play realistic it doesn't matter to me if they are playing on a little league field. Gameplay is core, I'm not saying the gameplay is bad, I'm just talking priority. If they can get a game where it really accurately represents baseball then having the true weather and every little tiny detail would make it that much better. I have not played mlb 06 or even 2k5. I just played MVP and I can say while their hitting is pretty solid their pitching is awful. I have been waiting for a baseball game to accurately portray pitching and I did play a demo of mlb 06 last year and I really liked the pitching. I actually fell behind in the count. I just hope the meter is not easy to master. I have yet to give up ANY walks in MVP. Yes, that's right, even on the hardest level with sliders in the CPU favor. If I give up 3 runs in a game it would be like Clemens in a 1988 game not striking out one batter. Bottom line, I just want realistic gameplay before realistic everything else.

Just for the hell of it - I would love to see correct stadium lighting from 11am - 9pm or whenever it really gets dark. By stadium lighting I am referring to correct placement of shadows on the field (if it's a sunny day of course) and the reason why I say as early as 11am, while there are no games at this time, players are definetley on the field stretching and warming up for the game. I don't know if we really need that but it would be an option that we can go to just for eye candy. Maybe add a real bp before the game. With scattered fans close up looking for autographs, etc. But, you actually take bp just for the fun of it and to get your timing down for the game you are about to play. If the game played so realistic then mind as well make it as realistic as possible.

I'd like to see some player face icons instead of the generic ones that are used in the game. Come up with a number of made up player face icons, just like MLB 2K6 and MVP NCAA 06 has done.

I'd like to see an option to fastforward or make it faster to simulate a sportscast game. Instead of the default speed.

I really like how they added the sim to the end feautre if you feel it might take long to sim one game, in this mode .

Yep...I loved the manage mode from MVP...I wish they could give the option of going by pitch or by batter for the Sportcast thing.

Otherwise, except for some minor graphical concerns with the Rogers Centre, I really can't complain about anything. So far, great job!

Is it possible to create a name database? Nothing is more frustrating than having a player named Johnson or Jones and have them referred to as "Number XX". It's a small detail that won't make or break the game for me, but it would be really nice to have.

Is it possible to expand the rosters to cover all three branches of the Major League Club (AA, AAA, and MLB)? This would be very nice for some of the people who really love to edit the players to their exact counterparts.

Also, can you change up the create-a-player stuff a little? Especially with the face features. I'm guessing I'm really spoiled with the Fight Night Series when it comes to creating the details on the players face.
