    Three Doubles

Just hit my third double of the game off of PHil Hughes. All three were pulled to right. Two were shots that landed JUST inside the line and rolled to the left field corner. The other was a line drive that missed going over the left field wall by inches. Funny thing was Damon slowed up as he got near the wall. It looked as he thought it was going over...lol

But the ball bounced down onto the warning track, and Damon (of no arm strength-make sure you set his arm strength to ZERO) threw it in to Jeter who was out in shallow left. Too late....

Gomes had chugged his way in...sliding in headfirst for the double....LOL

My instances have all been close...my runner was safe three times out of about 6 instances

      Carew-

Are you sticking with the PS2 version or going for the PS3? Anything about the PS2 gameplay influencing your decision?

        @ vickdamonejr.

for now...for at least to the end of this month, I'm just gonna enjoy this PS2 version...as well as get to know what works and what does not (sliders, error occurances, adjusting stances, deliveries, etc)

Also by that time, I think after most of the guys have the PS3 version, we'll see if some of the negative stuff that's being reported has increased or peaked....

Rod, what is new that you like most about 08 so far? And is meter pitching still way too accurate?

          Thanks

            @ bsb

I've posted some things about this game that I do like...starting at about 3 pages back...regarding meter pitching....honestly, it wasn't a thought....I set up straight to classic ;-)

I will make some tweaks however for the classic because it seems that even playing on HOF, my control is too good

              Rod,

I know you mentioned the CPU seemed to have more foul balls- but I wanted to ask if the foul ball/tip slider from the PS3 version made it into the PS2 version- and if so- how well does it work? I'd really like to see more 7 and 8 pitch battles going on- and I just didn't see that last year as much as I'd have liked.

              Thanks for your time!

                @ nomarhits

the foul ball/tip slider is not in this PS2 version...just the pitch count slider...perhaps they reworked the logic or maybe it coincidence.....lol

last night I was pitching Matt Garza against Jeter...the guy kept fouling off various types of pitches and locations...as he's wont to do in real life

so....I took a deep breath and checked the trend screen (can't remember the real name...but it enables you to see for each AB what the batter does with each of the pitches)...

                I saw that I hadn't throw one up and away--so I did

struck him out swinging on an upstairs/outside corner heater

                that felt good! LOL

I just searched for Frank Thomas images and saw him standing two different ways. In one he was upright and in another he was semi crouched over.

                            For The Red Sox

Matsuzaka has two identical deliveries...one that says 'Generic 21' and the other that ssays 'Matsuzaka'

Okajima's delivery is NOT in this PS2 version.....so I'll be going back to KOLB

honestly, the same crap that many of us complained about...assigning too many players Generic 1 for hitting, Generic 5 for pitching and the widespread deal of misidentifying somebody else's stances/deliveries....

Seriously, someone over at SCEA needs to get their *** AND act together...there really isn't an excuse for basically doing VERY LITTLE in this aspect of the game....pathetic....

                                I'll be honest with you...watch him play...any game...you won't ever see him bat upright in a game...you just won't

I'm not gonna say that he never did...probably when he was a young'in....but in the last 4-5 years, it just ain't so
