Decided to go with the Show over MLB 2K8 this year. Yes, I went backwards from 360 to PS2 but I don't care. I love the game so far, but baserunning is just such a tough time for me. I've read the manual and the tips in-game, but I can't seem to run the bases very well. In fact, I can't even advance my runner to second on a clear-cut double. It says "point the left analog stick in the direction of the runner and press the corresponding base to get them there" but it's not working for me.

Re: **MLB 08: The Show (PS2) First Impressions Thread**
I have a 360, a Wii, and a PS2, so I bought MLB 2k8 for 360 on release day. There were some things that bothered me about it, so I traded it in for the The Show on PS2.
I played one game, Oakland at Texas. By like the 3rd inning I was saying to myself, THIS is baseball! I just like the way the game plays. Some of the features like the custom music were really cool on 2k8, but overall I just liked the gameplay (esp the pitcher/batter interface) better on The Show.Comment

Re: **MLB 08: The Show (PS2) First Impressions Thread**
I've only seen a couple of minor problems.
I hit a ball down the left field line and the LFer wouldn't pick it up, the catcher had to get it.
I also hit a pop up to the shortstop and the catcher tried to catch it and couldn't get there.
I had the winning run on 3rd with one out and Aramis Ramirez up and the CPU didn't walk him. I haven't seen an IBB walk yet, actually.Comment

Re: **MLB 08: The Show (PS2) First Impressions Thread**
it look like the persons posting in the 'bug' thread, have the ps3 version.
very frequently, after playing a game in RTTS mode, after the 'post-game locker room' cut scene, the game FREEZES.
unfortunate. If you happen to have had a excellent performace, it goes by the way-side/unable to save.
anyone have this happen ??Comment

Re: **MLB 08: The Show (PS2) First Impressions Thread**
I've had that happen. In fact, I played about 15 games with my second baseman without saving (since I didn't plan on turning the system off). I guess I should have known, since I'm usually the type of person who saves after every single game. It sucks, but as long as you keep saving, it'll only screw up one game if it does happen.Comment

Re: **MLB 08: The Show (PS2) First Impressions Thread**
also a huge question for anyone interested in answering. its a fantasy question, but it relates to the show because i play my franchise with my fantasy team..
i consider myself a seasoned fantasy baseball guru and i usually can make decisions on proposed trades within seconds.. but one just baffled me that i got offered today.. i really want to pull thie trigger because i feel like im getting some good players at a real low price..ANY INTELLIGENT OPINIONS WOULD HELP GREATLY..
I have on my team and would be trading away
David Wright 1st round pick
Juston Upton 18th round pick
Felix Hernandez 9th round pick
I would be recieving
Miguel Cabrera 1st round pick
Eric Byrnes 5th round pick
C.C. Sabathia 3rd Round Pick
Should I Even be paying attention to the rounds they were picked in? Am i dumb if i pull thie trigger on this trade?

Re: **MLB 08: The Show (PS2) First Impressions Thread**
I wouldn't make the trade. David Wright is David Wright, no explanation needed there. Whoever picked Eric Byrnes in the 5th round is crazy. Juston Upton is starting to break out and will be very good this year. As for the pitchers, they cross-cancel each other. Sabathia may be a little better off, but not by much. Felix Hernandez is one of the best young pitchers in baseball.
The trade is pretty even, but I like the three you have right now. Others may have a completely different opinion, however.Comment
