I don't mind leading a close game 4-3 (e.g.) only to lose by a couple of runs because the home team made a comeback late in the game.

During RTTS games, though, my team will be leading by a couple of runs only to have the dreaded "Fast forwarding...." notice pop up during innings 7 to 9, and I magically find myself trailing by a massive margin.

I only play RTTS and I DO like win sometimes (and play for teams beside the Red Sox and Yankees).

LOL, I took a break from this forum and comeback to see comeback threads are still alive and kicking - and the mods playing whack a mole with them. I just got to the point where I couldn't play it anymore, which is a shame because it's a great game. Fortunately, UFC Undisputed has given me something else to play with.

Wow. You live a strange, paranoid world, dude.

Correction: threads about a perceived "AI comeback" or "reverse AI comeback" will likely be closed. The developers have categorically stated it does not exist, so threads about how to "fix" it are pointless.

There are plenty of "negative" threads that are wide open on other topics: glitches, errors in uniforms or stadiums or player stances, problems with mechanics of pitching or hitting or fielding, suggestions for improvement, and on and on.

It doesn't appear you can acknowledge that you were wrong about the "AI Comeback", so now you've moved on to conspiracy theories.

We do not mind if there are negative posts about a game - we DO mind when it posts basically talk about the same thing, over and over again. It clutters up the forums.

It's a real shame you stopped playing this game so early on. Almost everyone on this forum has experienced the so-called "comeback" issue again and again. I for one, can assure you that it is there, but it GOES BOTH WAYS. I think the devs just wanted to raise the level of excitement because after all it is a video game and baseball can be "long" for some people due to a lack of drama. So yes there is some sort of "rubber band" effect but it is oin place for both human and AI. One reason I was losing a lot of games on comebacks was that I didn't play out the game careful enough. Like in real life, they can zip through the first 7 innings, but the last 2-3 can take just as long. Take your time and think like a real life manager. It really bothers me that you've given up playing this game. It is, IMO, the best game ever made. Please stick with it. The rewards sweet and plentiful. Please PM me if you need any tips or words of encouragement.

It really does have to do with the pitcher's energy and confidence. Once the pitcher gets tired is when my problems start.

Hey man, long time no see. Hate to hear you quit playing. How come you did that?? You were really into it for a while. I can say in All Star mode I didn't notice any comeback or rubberband AI. Now HOF is a different story. Not so much any comeback but I do see the rubberband AI on this level.

Amen. I play on default and find the idea of "CPU comeback code" to be ridiculous.

I've come to realize that, for myself anyway, that what I was perceiving as "rubberband/comeback" whatever you call it is actually the realism of this game manifesting itself. I did not give the devs enough credit for this game. So I thought this was some built in code to kidn of " dumbed down" the game. On the contrary. This game mimicks, almost to a tee at times, the flow of a baseball game and most (if not all) the tough decisions a mangager and pitcher (all players for that matter) must make throughout a game. I'm sure if you asked a RL manager why his team lost a game they were leading 7-0 in the eighth, he could give you 3 or 4 mistakes (brain farts) that he made to open the door for the opposing team. Not making a visit to the mound, leaving the pitcher in too long. Trying for the K pitch when he shoulda been pitching for contact, making a sure out instead of prolonging an inning (VERY deadly in this game) and so on. I can say that practically every game that I lost due to supposed "comeback AI" was due to a lack of fundamental baseball decisions towards the end of a game. The last three innings should take you almost as long as the first six. Be purposeful on every pitch, every play. One last thing....It goes both ways. Notice how the CPU has shaky innings also. Don't help them out by getting easy outs. Keep the pressure on.
