Re: Community Day Questions, Answers, and Impressions
Unfortunately....they are still not saved from season to season.
Next year...one thing I really want to go over with Kolbe, Aaron and Jeff is the player card...stats and tracking.(that is...if they still want to listen to me!)

Re: Community Day Questions, Answers, and Impressions
I think you mean switch your choice as the team you want to GM and such and hand the Tigers over to the CPU.
ABSOLUTELY!
You would simply go into the profile association and move your profile to the team you want to control...and change the Tigers to either the profile you will set up for all your CPU teams or leave them as NO PROFILE.
Viola! ...you will now be running the XXXXX and the CPU will take the Tigers.
*(I think what Jim was referring to was playing any game for any team, which of course you can...it was added last year)

Re: Community Day Questions, Answers, and Impressions
I'm wondering if outside of the 30 man control, are the budgets more suited to real-life? I know Knight said in his Franchise write-up that teams would make intelligent trades based on their budget, record, etc. (i.e. Salary Dump Trades, or trading a star for prospects before the deadline)
I like the 30 team control, but I would like to actually have to work and make smart trades, signings as the franchise rolls on, so that I don't have to take over and self-police.
So anything said on this?
Kolbe was looking into team budgets....they were required to have a certain criteria met...
...and the biggie...Kolbe and crew were working on the trade logic big time even AFTER I left......so much so that I didn't even bother looking at trades when I was there...as I got the vibe it would be not too similar in the final version.
We'll have to wait and see on that.
When I talked about the taking over for the CPU in the franchise thread...it was more for guys that absolutely hate to see certain things happen(even though it might make sense for the CPU team) it's just nice that it's there.
I absolutely hope that the CPU makes great moves and I only worry about my club.

Re: Community Day Questions, Answers, and Impressions
Hello.
Question 1
_________
I love the following additions:
New broadcast camera
New RTP w/o cutscenes
I love this current set up:
HR cam off
Rob HR icon off
Fielding icon general area on
Fielding icon shrinking baseball off
tag up icon off
My question is, is there more anticipation for HRs? Even with the HR cam off, I still felt that many HRs lacked anticipation due to the commentary giving it away early (e.g. "Adam Dunn has just unloaded..." right after the swing) as opposed to possibly the commentary saying "Back Back Back", or "A long deep drive..." and waiting until the ball actual reaches the stands before calling it a HR. Also, it didn't help that the batter baserunning icon would also start the slow HR trot before the ball actually reached the stands taking the anticipation away. Hard to explain, but long story short...did you notice more anticipation for HRs?
Question 2
_________
Did you notice if we are able to turn off the following displays:
1. Pitch type indicators before pitching
2. Quick menu text before pitching
I like nothing but the score display when pitching...to mimic watching a real game as much as possible. With guess pitch off, and batting from the outfield view, this seems fine for me for batting.
Thanks a bunch.Comment

Wouldn't the end of an inning be the start of an inning? Six of one, half dozen of the other I guess.Comment

Re: Community Day Questions, Answers, and Impressions
I usually run two franchises-one as the Cardinals and one rebuilding a team. When I would rebuild, I usually let the CPU handle a few more duties than in my Cardinals franchise. I just realized this means I can do that simultaneously in the same franchise, and have different settings for each team. This sounds like it could turn into one of the best features in any sports game.)

Ok cool, yeah if trade logic is corrected then it would make sense that the team's methodology in spending would be better as well. That's my one hope with this game, seems like they have fixed everything else I could think of.Comment
