Knight, you may have just given me an idea for what I will do while I patiently wait for your classic rosters. I may draft a team to play my home games at the Polo Grounds and build my team accordingly. This year's game is going to be great!

If you decide to use the Polo Grounds as your home stadium....you better have a SPEEDY OF.
Trust me.
In the game with bhurst...I couldn't get to a ball hit over my head with my LF(slightly towards center) ...and what would have normally bounced off the wall(normal OF wall) for a sure double possible triple...instead rolled all the way to the 455 ft mark in LF(not even the longest part of the park!!!!!!!!) for an inside the park homer.
You definitely need to draft/trade/sign to your ballpark strengths.

Wow! Great information in your write up Nemesis - it sounds like we're getting a new game without a complete overhaul. You've done a great job of keeping the hype meter high for all of us...thank you for your time and effort.

Great write up nemesis. Now my final burning questions are 1: will we finally be able to intercept an outfield throw by the cutoff after you preloaded a throw home. 2: while on base can you manually slide back on a pickoff or is still a lucky guess? I hate when this happens and with the new pick off moves and all i really hope we'll finally have controll! Thanks

As far as those questions go:

1. You cannot intercept a throw this year.

2. The only thing you can control are your steps back not your actual slide back. It sounds like they did some more attribute tuning as far as the player's ability to get back.

Thanks nem for the new writeup. Maybe it has been mentioned earlier (this is one huge thread now!), but how's the double play exchange this year? Last year I got frusterated with how many times it got broken up. I expect a few broken up DPs, but I thought they were a little excessive last year.


bhurst99, I've got a RTTS question. Did you play either of the middle infield positions during community day? Those are the positions I play all the time and last year I really had a hard time getting baserunners out when they were trying to steal 2nd. I don't know if the computer runner was just too fast, or if I was covering too late (even though I always got to the bag fast enough), or if my tag was slow (is this affected by attribute ratings?), or if my catcher just sucked. Have you seen this, is it any better?

Do you mean the animation where the shortstop would drop the ball before the throw? If you are referring to that one it I did not see that animation once at CD. The are a few more double play scenarios added for this year. It seems better to me.

RTP sounds pretty great, but now my games take an hour and I don't know that I want to sit through all that. I want to get some games in. I'll probably play a few with RTP just to see if I like it, but go back to normal just for time's sake.

yeah that's the one. I guess that's not really being broken up as much as just being a bad connection between the players. Drove me crazy! Glad it has hopefully been toned down. Thanks.

I hear you on the season length. I started my Pirates season last April 7th, and am still only through 64 games. I split time with 4 other sports franchises, but I think the big difference with The Show and MVP Baseball (the one I played previously), is that The Show is so bloody detailed that the games take about twice as long as games I played on MVP. Normally it takes me about a calender year to plod through a baseball season. There's no way I'll even finish this one in time for MLB 10.

That's why there is something called the X Button Skip it

I am pretty sure RTP is all I will be using!

But its great that we have the option to use it or not

I don't know if this has been answered yet, I have been following your posts religiously though, do the A level players receive sim stats?

Also are minor league stats saved from year to year or are they wiped clean after each season as in the past?

Quick question, If I choose to control all 30 teams in franchise but only play as the Tigers my first year, in my second year can I choose not to play as the Tigers and choose another team to play as?

If you're choosing all teams you can play as anyone. If you don't choose all teams to control you can still play as any other team on the schedule.

I aggree. Playing a 162 game schedule is tough for me. I'd like to play a much shortened schedule (in franchise mode) and play through several seasons.

What's the main difference between the franchise and season modes?
