Great Part II write-up Nem. Helped me visualize the throwing in the game very well.

A couple of quick questions...

Are the throwing meter rings reactive just as fast as it was in previous versions? Or does the rings light up a hair slower?

Is it pressure sensitive with the analog face buttons or time sensitive? So it isn't as hard you press, but how long you hold it? Or if you press harder, the rings light up faster, and press lighter they light up slower?

Hope I wasn't too confusing.

Personally I thought they expanded a little slower this year. Continually keeping it pressed will expand the meter but you have to maintain the pressure to keep the rings expanding. Not too sure if pressing it harder makes the meter go faster.

Did they implement the ability to cut off throws from the OF that are going to a certain base? For example for off line throws or cutting down a runner trying to advance to another base?

Great, a little slower is a good sign, even though throwing did nothing last year with the meter, it would have been way too fast IMO.

Will have to mess around to see if it is pressure sensitive when it comes out.

Just read Nems part 2. Playing with broadcast cam is going to be so much fun. With the difficulty Nem described, during season mode, you will have to scout each stadium to be able to play the ball correctly. Very cool.

Exactly, and possibly now have players who are faster and have more range to get to the ball.

I don't want to be the guy beating the dead horse but has it been confirmed or denied whether or not create a team is in the game? While most certainly not a deal breaker it would be very cool

Did Sony happen to say why the batters are wearing helmets instead of Hats for the HR Derby? In real life they wear Hats not helmets.

I haven't read any reasons..

However it would be nice to have options for helmet, forward cap or backwards cap

Would just add to the feel

I loved All Star Baseballs homerun derby mode they had hats and Griffey's was always backwards. ETC.... it was always cool too see that especially back then.

Yea, HR Kings(Gamecube) had backwards hats also.. Don't think it was specific, pretty sure everyone had them.

Definitely.
If you decide to use the Polo Grounds as your home stadium....you better have a SPEEDY OF.
Trust me.
In the game with bhurst...I couldn't get to a ball hit over my head with my LF(slightly towards center) ...and what would have normally bounced off the wall(normal OF wall) for a sure double possible triple...instead rolled all the way to the 455 ft mark in LF(not even the longest part of the park!!!!!!!!) for an inside the park homer.
You definitely need to draft/trade/sign to your ballpark strengths.
