Yeah I would like to see OBP in the overlays when they come up to bat, etc.

If they took AUTO FIELD out, which they won't, I would not have any concerns about this if I had to do everything manually. It's just going to take some practice.

I can only give advice to guys to NOT start a franchise until they've done some learning for this new edition.
      Thanks, Jim.

I agree, every game should need about 10-15 exhibition games before divulging into a franchise.

It's hard though...especially when I got my neighbor playing their franchise across the street...maybe I will occupy myself with Glamore Magazine.

Were you able to verify if the DL works correctly this year; noting that last year you could place a ML player on the DL and call up a AAA player to cover him and a AA player to cover the AAA player - but then you couldn't sign someone to take the AA players place?

Also, if I set a team's batting lineup and then hand control back to the CPU, will it mess with the lineup (like last year when we saw Helton batting leadoff) or will it only make minor moves based on who's hot, who's slumping, etc.?

        Both are fixed.
Placing a player on the 60 day DL now correctly removes him from the 40 man roster(which was the real problem last year). You can now sign a FA....(I believe the game puts him in AAA) and you can replace the player on the active roster. When the DL'ed player comes off the 60 day...you will then have to choose on what move to make as you will now technically have 41 players on the 40 man roster.

Jim tested the lineups...we were side by side at the CD...and he was testing this more extensively...but we set lineups...they did indeed "stick" and players were rested and replaced(with the lineups getting changed accordingly..until the player was back in the lineup the next day or two later...so you won't see Cody Ransom replace A-Rod in the 3rd spot in the order on a rest day....it will shuffle it for that day)
If there is a trade or injury...the CPU will then re-adjust.

            franchise length?

i love playing a franchise but i don't have the time or the patience to play a full schedule... i tried on MLB the show 09, but just recently finished my first season... has anyone heard if there will be an option, much like 2k9's to play shortened seasons, rather than the full 160+ game schedule? thanks all! i'm excited for this game!!

Wow! Great information in your write up Nemesis - it sounds like we're getting a new game without a complete overhaul. You've done a great job of keeping the hype meter high for all of us...thank you for your time and effort.

That is a no man I asked this question about retractable roofs. There is no option for them to be selected as close or open. They will always be open.

i would really LOVE to see this kind of camera/presentation after a homerun in 10. mainly when borbon is rounding third and the camera is low and focused on him with the fireworks and stadium in the background. amazing. also, the overlay that says "1st hr of the season" is a nice touch. think we will see anything similar to this?

Not only for HR Derby but It would be a cool option if it was offered in Season & Franchise.
It would add a little to the authenticity on the Historic teams theme.

I am not sure about the camera/presentation but from the info posted here it does sound like you will get an overlay "Drop down box" that will display X Player Home Run (25)

I hope I am right because it was in my wishlist in the Feedback thread. I even posted videos like yours showing examples to Sony of what I am hoping for

I wonder if they got the idea from me lol that would be cool!

It really sucks when playing in season mode and you are in the middle of the season and Ryan Howard hits a Home Run and I have no idea what number home run on the year it was. Same goes for other kind of hits.

But like I said it looks like that will not be an issue this year Thank god!

Baseball is a stats hungry game and I want "MLB The Show" to be a stat whore!! And I don't just mean Stats in the game menus I am talking about TONS of Stats showing on over lays few out the game!

And thankfully it looks like MLB 10 The Show is headed in that direction finally

The Future looks real bright for "baseball video game fans" thanks to SONY and the Operation Sports community!!!

MLB The Show is getting better every year and I just can not even imagine what MLB The Show will be like 5 years from now

Great write up nemesis. Now my final burning questions are 1: will we finally be able to intercept an outfield throw by the cutoff after you preloaded a throw home. 2: while on base can you manually slide back on a pickoff or is still a lucky guess? I hate when this happens and with the new pick off moves and all i really hope we'll finally have controll! Thanks
