Apologies if this has been asked already - I've taken the last 5 months off these boards and MLB'09 so I'm not burned out come March 2.

For those of you who have had a chance to see and/or play the game at Community Day, has hitting changed much? If you'll remember, the timing required for hitting changed quite a bit between '08 and '09. I'm just wondering if there'll be that adjustment required again for '10. Thanks

The timing felt similar to 09. So if you played 09 you should be able to jump in right away. The learning curve for 10 will be fielding in the Broadcast view. It takes some getting used to!.

They have added a pitch delay that allows you to adjust how fast the ball comes in.

Whats the differance between the pitch speed slider and this pitch delay option?

I believe pitch speed changes the mph while the pitch delay does not.

Speed of the pitch impacts the hit.

Actually, just for clarification the pitch speed slider only changes how fast the pitch visually comes at the batter. So a 95mph fastball is still a 95mph fastball in the game but adjusting the slider up or down will just give you the effect the pitch is quicker or slower.

To me it seemed like the pitch delay option gave the slider a two tier effect. Allowing you to fine tune speed in a slower or faster setting within the pitch delay option of choice.

Ah! Thanks for the clarification! Hey Nem, have the pickoffs been changed when picking to 2nd? I'm guessing that they haven't put in a deceptive move (to 2nd) since you didn't say anything about it in your post in the CD forum but wanted to check.

Piggy-backing on this question, Nem (or anyone else that knows), did they cut down on the pickoff attempts to second??

Far too many in last year's version. You're lucky to see a pitcher do it once a game in reality!

No changes on pick offs to second. To me that who scenario needs some work as there are some better things that could be done.

Hmmm, actually I did not think there was an over abundance of throws to second. First base was a different story but the slider fixed that problem.
