Hint: and you could do this last year. If you have a situation where Hafner is playing 1st base and LaPorta is DH, go into the DEFENSIVE POSITIONING screen and switch them and it will stick. That's a workaround for that situation.

Hey, to be fair he plays in inter-league games at first. And isn't half bad either.

I get what you are saying though, lol.

But in real baseball, who accidentally throws the ball too lightly when deep in the outfield?

The only time the ball should really be lobbed is when the play is over, when there is no play.

Or pre-game line-up, you can hit square to change positions.

Plus there is no trajectory input(For lack of better words right now just think MLB Power Pros and PYS baseball games) in The Show. So while you may get the timing down and the location down but the bat will not be on the same trajectory (Uppercut etc..) every swing. Hense the randomness...
So it just not bat location and timing that decide the balls path...
That wasn't the point he was making, though. He was saying (and please correct me if I am wrong)- using the tools provided in the game- that IF the ball is centered up, and IF the timing is perfect- the end result SHOULD be a ball hit HARD somewhere (regardless of trajectory). Doesn't mean a homerun- or even a hit- just means solid contact.

All the real life examples being given here refer to what a player THINKS regarding his contact- not what happened. Just becasue "it feels right" off the bat- doesn't mean it was centered perfectly. In fact- if we had the tools available in the game post -at - bat- we could see how the pitch was missed.

I am actually concerned more about the opposite scenario: bad timing and location- and the ball can be hit hard? How is that EVER possible? I am not sure Russell expressed himself as well as he wanted; or perhaps he did and I am putting words in his mouth. Either way, I don't think this should happen in the game unless you want to play "arcade mode"....Too many games out there like this already.

This year you are going to pay if you do that. Everyone wanted the meter to be responsive to what they were doing and now you got it. Mistakes happen in baseball too.

Yes you can in 09' with roster control on.

                      It turns off injuries.

But in 10, you can control all 30 teams, with injuries on and controlling their rosters. Or whatever form of combinations you want.

Fellas, balls will finally be able to be ripped down the line, end up in the corner and bounce around, especially on turf. While this may have happened last year, it was so rare because of this bug that the outfielders would have enough time to get to the ball. No longer is this the case, and if you don't play the angle properly now, a 2b can turn into a triple.
I really like this. From the few times it was evident in the videos we've seen, I think it looks like they've done a great a job on it. My one issue is this.....

Like you said, you have to play the angles off the walls properly in the outfield. My problem is the AI *always* plays the angles correctly. In the 100's of games I've played, not once have I seen the AI misjudge how the ball caroms off an outfield wall. Would be nice to see this eventually worked on.

But what about the rest of the games that are simmed in your franchise, adding the DH as a position would be helpful there too.

The cpu will make mistakes as they seem aggresive at times going after the ball and missing.

I have seen them misjudge where they ran into a wall on a jump and fell over so the ball bounced off back towards the infield.

And seen some misjudges in left at Fenway.
