Still taking things out of context in the game of baseball a pitcher can throw the perfect pitch the batter can swing at a ball he should leave alone and he can and sometimes will get a hit or even put it over the wall. For instance Manny did this plenty of times throughout the 2008 season. While conventional wisdom says that should never happen the fact of the matter is it does happen. Round bat round ball its not a science you move the bat or the ball 1 cm and the trajectory is changed you add/subtract minimal velocity to that same swing and contact and your result is totally different. Again this is the exception and not the rule which is what some can't seem to understand.

re: Community Day Questions, Answers, and Impressions
Did anybody happen to check the number of slots available for "Sounds of the Show" music?
I know last year people had to mix songs into the same file because they could only upload a certain amount.
Has this limit either been removed? Or at least raised?
Or if nobody checked.. then Russell...Could you chime in?

re: Community Day Questions, Answers, and Impressions
Another question, or two:
Did they fix the Gold Glove awards, as in did they put minimums on it like they did with batting average, era, etc? I get tired of seeing Adam Everett winning the SS gold glove on his 11 assists and 8 put outs.
Did they add silver slugger awards to each position rather than only one award?Comment

Re: Post thoughts here for Community Day Hands-on Impressions
I am actually concerned more about the opposite scenario: bad timing and location- and the ball can be hit hard? How is that EVER possible? I am not sure Russell expressed himself as well as he wanted; or perhaps he did and I am putting words in his mouth. Either way, I don't think this should happen in the game unless you want to play "arcade mode"....Too many games out there like this already.
Have you even played The Show series? You would clearly, and I mean CLEARLY understand that "arcade" is not the case. Not even close. Does not seem like you have with a comment like that. No offense.
Seriously.
Playing it, especially the batter vs. pitcher game, feels pretty damn good. Almost perfect. Almost.
But the game of baseball isn't perfect, thus it all works out.

Re: Post thoughts here for Community Day Hands-on Impressions
That wasn't the point he was making, though. He was saying (and please correct me if I am wrong)- using the tools provided in the game- that IF the ball is centered up, and IF the timing is perfect- the end result SHOULD be a ball hit HARD somewhere (regardless of trajectory). Doesn't mean a homerun- or even a hit- just means solid contact.
All the real life examples being given here refer to what a player THINKS regarding his contact- not what happened. Just becasue "it feels right" off the bat- doesn't mean it was centered perfectly. In fact- if we had the tools available in the game post -at - bat- we could see how the pitch was missed.

So just like real life you may have timed it correct...had the bat in the right position... and yet hit a week ball to 3rd base because you can do that in real life (perfect timing and area) yet be off in the angle/trajectory and hit it weakly....
This is all my interpretation of the system.. so I may be totally wrong. Either way I'm moving on... lolJoshua:

Yes, they removed it from the game.
I kid. They actually asked for a picture yesterday of the new digital scoreboard on the left field wall. So you are in luck.Ⓥ Boston Red Sox | Miami DolphinsComment

Re: Post thoughts here for Community Day Hands-on Impressions
all this talk about trajectory and velocity and physics sounds to me like this.......
From Monty Python & The Holy Grail
Soldier #1: Where'd you get the coconuts?
Arthur: We found them.
Soldier #1: Found them? In Mercia? The coconut's tropical!
Arthur: What do you mean?
Soldier #1: Well, this is a temperate zone.
Arthur: The swallow may fly south with the sun or the house martin or the plover may seek warmer climes in winter, yet these are not strangers to our land?
Soldier #1: (pause) Are you suggesting coconuts migrate?
Arthur: Not at all. They could be carried.
Soldier #1: What? A swallow carrying a coconut?
Arthur: It could grip it by the husk!
Soldier #1: It's not a question of where 'e grips it! It's a simple question of weight ratios! A five ounce bird could not carry a one pound coconut.
Arthur: Well, it doesn't matter. Will you go and tell your master that Arthur from the Court of Camelot is here?
Soldier #1: Listen. In order to maintain air-speed velocity, a swallow needs to beat its wings forty-three times every second, right?
Arthur: Please!
Soldier #1: Am I right?
Arthur: I'm not interested!
Soldier #2: It could be carried by an African swallow!
Soldier #1: Oh, yeah, an African swallow maybe, but not a European swallow. That's my point.Playstation Network:That70s_Gamer
