I don't have the pics. I took 50 or more and they are in the PS3 console I played on. Ramone will pull them all off and post them when they get approval.

Oh OK, now I get way they were so good last year. It was the camera from the PS3. I was thinking you took them with your own camera and I was like "WOW" "THOSE ARE SO NICE PICTUREs" Then I was going to ask you want kinda camera did you have.

Well, I don't think MOST of us LOATHE the commentary. Are we too used to hearing it, yes.
And with that, even the greatest commentary can get stale, however, anyone who loathes Matt....I dunno, he's smooth as silk. I could listen to Matt for the next ten years.

I politely joked about it and they know. Knight defended Rex, so we aren't friends anymore (jk)....but, he did.

Bottom line, SCEA honors contracts. Next year I believe we are going to hear more progressive announcing.

Totally understandable. I pretty much figured it had to do with their contracts. And I also understand that even the best commentary will become stale after a few games. Besides, there are only so many ways to call a game. The thing I have a problem with was the corny jokes. Those are the things I can't stand listening to game after game.

But it is nice to hear they are aware and it should be better next year. Thanks a lot.

Even if they couldn't overhaul it this year, they are at least aware of it, right? Please tell me they are.

lol...I can promise that Jim did.

I think what it is (and nemesis addressed this part of it earlier) they don't want to lose the depth of the commentary by just scrapping the current system and starting over. They'd be more likely to make sure when it goes in, it's ready to be awesome for a while...not just a game or two.

The commentary was no way near as fluid as 2K's last year, but was MUCH deeper and more in-tune with long-term play. Last year's "Repeating Rex" issues were more bugs or something, I think...it wasn't near as repetitive in previous years. So hopefully they got that part ironed out at least.

Also, as Jim mentioned at one time or another, these guys are under contract still. So for that aspect, we're stuck with Rex at least until that expires from the looks of things.

It's definitely on SCEA's radar though; based on the commentary from Jim and nemesis.

EDIT: Just saw Jim's answer...you might have to "silence" Knight when it comes to commentary. All those years of Firefighting have damaged his hearing, apparently!

I believe you questioned was answered incorrectly. In '09, you could change the number of games in season mode but not franchise. I don't see why they would take this out. And, you continue you season for years like franchise. So, season mode is kinda like franchise-lite, you still draft players and stuff in season mode.

Re: Post thoughts here for Community Day Hands-on Impressions

I was a little disappointed to hear that they didn't add the bleachers to Wrigley this year, but I suppose that's understandable; I guess it takes significant coding changes to get the fans to interact with bleachers instead of regular seats, which would also explain why no one ever sat at the tables in Houston; they just stood around them instead.

At any rate, does anyone know what else (if anything) has changed at Wrigley other than what has been said already? Did they make it so that the full city names of the teams appear on the scoreboard instead of just the abbreviations? Did they fix the stretched-out texture of the bricks in left field? How about the color of this bricks, the awkwardly high backstop, and the incorrect alignment of the ad on the backstop? Has this been changed to reflect the real look of it more?

I understand if no one knows, I apologize for being a bit anxious to know about my home stadium, I'm just hoping they made it look a bit nicer this year considering all of the work they've done on the other stadiums.

Other than that, I'm loving all of the things I've read about here the past two days; I can't wait for March 2nd! (although that might have to wait until spring break unless I bring my PS3 here to college before then. )

That is why I was thinking you had some Vietnam spy cam. But now it makes perfect sense.

On the commentary comments that some believe nothing was added. Ed Brady recorded over two weeks worth of sessions of new commentary with Matt, Dave, and Rex this year.

                          VERY cool.

We've already got the franchise scores in a overlay box that pops up after certain innings....but we're getting closer to getting them in the ticker!

Knight165 Do you know if the ticker will also display for example "Ryan Howard Home Run (24)" and (25) after his next Home Run?

So what I am asking is does the ticker under the score keep track of the number of Home Runs hit by all players in season mode?

U guys should do a behind-the-scenes vid of "making commentary"....it would be great to see plus show some people how difficult it really is to create.

Can you give any info on if any New sliders were added ? or just the same as 09 ?
Also will their be seperate Global sliders for both Cpu/Hu ? Like the Hit/Pitch will be this year ?

Thanks to all for the great info just like last year

                                Scott, don't forget the !

I can get what both sides are saying on this debacle. Hitting comes down to milliseconds & millimeters (along with other factors) and to represent that in a game, there has to be some variability. Even if it's to the point where rarely what the user feels was a perfect swing results in less than ideal contact. Conversely, there are going to be rare instances when the batter "gets lucky" and smacks one he wasn't looking for or was fooled by. I can see where this might alarm some people, but I'm not sure it's as drastic as people have interpreted it to be...

Reminds me of a HR I hit the other night with Jeff Clement. Behind in the count, I was looking for a splitter down in the zone (he was killing me with them), but the pitcher threw me some high & tight cheddar. Reading fastball out of his hand, I jumped on the pitch -- swinging early -- and tomahawked one down the RF line in Petco that slammed off the concrete facade between seating areas. It was a hard hit, but with an ugly hooking trajectory that was lucky to stay fair. Pretty damn cool actually and had to watch the replay several times...
